You have allready back tracked you said I hadn't read a article on this and I clearly have, to think how popular this book was and the local media pick up on storys is frankly stupid, I can assure you the bit when he discussed sucides in Yate, there's no comedy what so ever, none at all, are you saying there isn't serious chapters or paragraphs in humour books,?
-
You were wrong acxept it silv, to suggest someone would mislead readers about this, is way out of line
-
I don't wish to argue you say in the early years there was problems the book was published around the 2000s, we aren't talking the early years,
-
Not as bad as I say? I was just quoting a author, would be a strange claim to make it not true
-
I have recalled where I read about Yate having more sucides to population than any other place in the UK, it was the book crap towns
-
Didn't yate hold some record for sucides at one point? I'm sure I read that?

A interesting opion I did see was that of Nigel Kennedy the violinist, the only good thing about football hooligans he said was that they kept corporation's out of football in grounds here!
-
I recall Alan sugar being interviewed,in the late 80s, he said the only clubs worth investing in outside the top 2 divisions would be Bristol city cardiff or Burnley, he said something like the rest lose money weekly.

Trundle smacks of a Steve Lansdown vanity signing.
Wouldn't be at all surprised, didn't fit the criteria for a gj signing, loved work ethic

Spurs averaging 20000 seems crazy, the gunner's weren't much better, maybe Les Kew lent irving scholar his magic calculator? Can recall Newcastle's gates being terrible in this division in the 90s pre keegan
-
We played Plymouth in the freight rover that season and I'm sure the gate was under 2000, I sat in the red seats in the dolman for the first time,

I was mascot for the game against wolves! I can recall the wolves fans doing the conga in the away end
-
The home game in the league, the season before was my first derby game, wasn't a spare seat in the ground
-
If I remember rightly the home game against them that season was quite a small attendance,

Can recall my mates dad saying Weston had a rather large skinhead gang in those days, and they chased the Bristol skins out of Weston once!
