The match I’m thinking about was at home in the 60s. I’m not sure whi was City’s opposition but I don’t think it was Leeds
QPR around 1963 if I remember correctly.

Absolutely tragic. Thoughts go out to all those affected.
One question though, forgive my naiveness, but how did so many die? When you watch the video, it looks like the whole stand gets cleared out? Or would it possibly have a concourse like the Dolman and this is possibly where people may have been trapped?
The only exits in that stand were at the back which led to a very dingy corridor where the main exits out of the ground were. It was general practice to keep these doors locked until 10 minutes or so before the end of the match and it was in this corridor where most of the deaths occurred.

First live band I saw was the Who at the Locarno, I never knew anything could be so loud ,then they finished with My Generation, trashed all their gear and a 15 year old me was standing there thinking wow, wait til they hear about this tomorrow at school!!

Saw the Sweet at the old Locarno around 1972. Stonking live band , could rock with the best of them.

That 4-4 cup draw!!
Possibly the most dramatic game I ever saw at AG.
Grown men, strangers, hugging each other at the last goal. Not normally the behaviour you saw in the Enclosure!
Wished afterwards that the equaliser never happened, went to the replay and saw us get thumped!

We’re there any barriers in front of the benches?
No, it was more like planks bolted to supports, no backs or barriers and it probably wasn't deep enough for a row M!!

Looking at the picture, I don’t think there were barriers. I think that, what sort of, looks like barriers are the wooden benches. Is there anyone who went in this stand who can confirm what it was like?
Sat in there a couple of times, definitely wooden benches with painted lines marking each seating space.

Some of the more sensible assheads on ass-shat seem to think more around the £2M mark, which would seem reasonable.
£300,000 buy-out clause perhaps...

Hope security did a thorough search last night and made sure they'd all gone, otherwise the rest of the circus will be trying to move in today!

So different to the '80s when I went every year, we used to decide how many of us were going about a month before, then someone would collect the money (cash!) and toddle up to Rival records on Park Street and get the tickets, happy days!
