It's probably some sort of sacrilege to say this, but I have just listened to it and I have to say I prefer what Nazareth made of it.
And I speak as someone who likes a lot of female singer songwriters and not the greatest fan of Nazareth.
Agree, one of the covers which is better than the original, Hendrix's ' version of All Along the Watchtower and Joe Cocker's With a Little Help From My Friends spring to mind.

I was knee high but recall going with my dad and uncle but rather than the Jules Rimet I was told to focus on the 'best player on the park'. Not one of those involved in the World Cup rather an Atyeo type goalscoring machine who led the line for Leeds and set them on the road to glory. Cant for the life of me remember his name but think he was a Scot. Could be wrong but whilst I recall Jackie Charlton playing i think a young Norman Hunter might also have been there.
Jim Storrie?

I found the flashing pitchside adverts so bright it was almost painful last night. It seemed to tone down later in the game, but early on it was a strain to see the ball when it was on the ground. Surely this must be a distraction to players and officials as well

1957, can't remember the game but remember dad sitting me on the wall in the corner of the East End, then just known as the Covered End. Before that I used to stand outside our house in Stackpool Road and listen for the crowd roar when City scored.
