  1. I've never quite shared the same hatred for the sags as many on here, a lot of my family and friends are Sags, and my grandfather was gas and he's someone I really looked up to. I give them credit where credit's due, which to be fair doesn't seem the theme of this forum. On a separate note I'm negative about City because recently we've been awful and I want to progress and I personally don't see that happening under LJ unless major signings/changes are made. We have the potential to be a regular Premier League club, but I get frustrated by the attitude of a lot of our fans who seem to be happy with our performances as long as the sags are worse than us.
  2. Would be surprised if you genuinely haven’t. Was a key figure for Sheffield United in their first season back in the Championship, and was fantastic at Wycombe. Much too good for League 1 in my opinion.
  3. Just signed Jamal Blackman on loan, got to say, I’m shocked they’ve pulled that off
  4. They played awful route one football under Cockman, their squad isn’t as good as their position shows. Talked to a couple gas mates and they’ve had cracks in the surface despite their high position, like when they were the first team to lose to Bolton this season. Garner’s come in for the long term, has good footballing connections (as demonstrated by their signing today). But given the circumstances it’s no wonder he’s had a poor start, apparently have an injury crisis too. Also wouldn’t be surprised if they keep JCH this month, he’s been poor recently and has an injury record
  5. All honesty probably should've been a red, Coventry fans can't believe their luck on their forum.
  6. He won't know a lot of the behind the scenes stuff. As a footballing coach with no experience of playing the game professionally a club, getting his first job at the top end of League One is quite fortunate, regardless of how good he is. Farke and Wilder started off at shit clubs to be fair. Either he'll be great and bring them up and will get poached and leave, Holloway will go there, take them down and then they'll be in financial ruin, or he'll be ****.
  7. Trying to be biased but genuinely think it’s a very good appointment, rated very highly by multiple top managers and was mentored by Mourinho. Also helped bring through Wan-Bissaka. Should be enough for them to make a good go of promotion imo and if they go up they can spend 3 months gloating before pulling a Yeovil
  8. Looks like Ben Garner is going to be manager there. Really surprised by this because, trying to be as unbiased as possible, I think it’s actually a very good appointment by the sags. Very inexperienced but he’s rated really highly by a lot of top managers. Think it’s a much better appointment than a Nathan Jones or a Hollowhead would’ve been. In terms of realism for the sags, I think this is genuinely the best appointment they could’ve made.
  9. Heard a couple more interesting shouts for Cockman's replacement if he goes. Of course there were some hilariously unrealistic ones like Gareth Ainsworth and Tony Pulis, but have seen a lot of sags ask for Nathan Jones
  10. Even if he resigned they would still get money from court action if he immediately went to Mansfield though?
  11. Someone correct me if I'm wrong because i'm quite uneducated on this topic, but if Rovers don't allow an approach and don't cave in, and as they aren't forced to because Coughlan's got 2 years left on his deal there, would that not mean they might get a half decent deal (for them, probably a couple hundred thousand) as Mansfield will have to buy him out of his contract.
  12. Just listened to the interview. It’s odd. He says “I don’t know where I can take this football club.” But also implies that he has some personal issues (“I’ve got decisions to make in my own personal life”). To me it sounds like the issue isn’t the club, the issue might be being long-distance away from family or other personal issues and he wants to focus more on that than the sags. Could also be a job offer, but is anyone else looking minus maybe Portsmouth? Who I’d argue are really unattractive as a managerial destination right now. Not too sure. Regardless as biased as I may be have to give credit where credit’s due, he’s done a great job there. Hopefully he leaves, Hollowhead takes over and that’ll be the end of this promotion nonsense.
  13. Either it wasn't real or the tweet's been deleted
  14. I was trying to be gracious, I didn’t have this opinion but lots on here considered their second half of season form a purple patch, same with Clarke-Harris’ form. I thought they’d finish about where they did, but many on here and on their shit forum held the opinion they had a purple patch and had lost significant quality (for sag standard anyway).
  15. I actually disagree to an extent. Decided to tune in as well. Did seem like they lacked a lot up front but it's worth keeping in mind Clarke-Harris is injured, who's scored 47% of their goals this season. But if he was playing they'd have likely scored more. I don't think they'll go up or get top 6, I think they will probably finish higher than they ever did with Dopey, around 8-11th would be my guess. And from the opinions of Rovers fans (that aren't deluded) that I know they've made some fantastic summer signings and have improved in a lot of areas. Most surprisingly at all they all seem to say CB, surprising as the two CBs who left were Lockyer (who's fair play to him been fantastic at Charlton this season), and Clarke (who ditched them for Dopey in L2 and was their POTY). What's interesting is the sags have actually scored the 16th/17th most goals in League One, but the 4th least goals conceded. But fair play to them imo, lots of us on here thought they were guaranteed to go down and I think that's looking extremely unlikely right now, and honestly, having a look at sagchat pre-season, even if they got mid-table that'd be a lot better than a lot on there were expecting.
  16. They've been bitter for decades, but was it really a crap day for them? They won after all. Their players managed to do Agogo proud only for a lot of fans to completely ruin the sentiment with their obsession with Matty, disgusting really.
  17. Whilst I get your point Nketiah didn't leave us because he never played for us. Much better comparisons are Tomlin and Reid, who albeit I have heard a lot of abuse towards I'm not going to lie. The ***** definitely aren't a family club, on a separate note is anyone really a family club anymore? Every fanbase has mongrels now that I think the term is worthless.
  18. From watching clips on their thread 2nd looks a very harsh second yellow. But in all fairness 1st is atrocious and is laughable from the Tranmere player, and I'd say it was a pen.
  19. LJ confirmed Cockman was at the U23 game, and from the tone of his voice he does unfortunately seem like it could be a possibility, whether Adelakun or not. Unfortunate and I'd have rather he ruled it out on the spot, as I can't see him not being aware of Lansdown & Wally's personal agreement.
  20. I think slagchat user "stuartcampbell" (grimmest name) is suggesting that there's been rumours of them wanting to sign one of our U23 boys on loan, and he simply recommended Adelekun. If the rumour of them wanting to sign one of ours is true, I'd probably think it'd be Adelekun. Was very successful at Scunthorpe before joining us. They desperately need a winger. I think he needs a loan to League One if there's ever any chance of him breaking into the first team. Doesn't seem resoundingly unrealistic. Doubt it thought because of Wally's comments, but I think it's difficult. Nowadays rival clubs don't really seem to hate each other anywhere near as much as rival fans do. Some of our current and ex-players are great mates with current and ex-Rovers players (e.g Reid and Harrison, or a lot of our players commenting on Chris Lines' post confirming he was leaving the sags last season). So whilst we dream of the sags crawling to us and begging us to sign a player, we won't turn it down if the deal makes sense just because it's them, which is something I and almost everyone on this forum would say we definitely would. A sidenote, would you really want him to fail if he signed for them on loan? I can understand permanent, but he's still OUR player even if he's on loan to them. And I'd wish for him to do well for them, after all then we could claim yet again to have stolen their best player...
  21. I for one think Wael is a genius! I mean a cinema in their new stadium would be a great idea! I mean the 20,000 locked now have something to do! They're certainly coming for us won't have any of da shit tell us otherwise
  22. It is a horrific ranking tbf. Newcastle above West Ham is one that particularly stands out Apologies: I missed the quote somehow. I thought the gasbuster was a member of slagchat, really should get some common sense lessons.
  23. Remember a sag mate of mine told me last season that the last time they went to Home Park Plymouth fans were refusing to give the ball back to one of the sag players as they were 2-1 and it was at the end of the game. Rovers got a last minute equaliser and the player then went straight to the fans and celebrated cupping his ears towards the crowd, their fans and manager went mental. I can see Plymouth hating the sags but I can't see 60% of the sags hating Plymouth. I heard somewhere the inbred lot really hate Wycombe and Shrewsbury Remember a sag mate of mine told me last season that the last time they went to Home Park Plymouth fans were refusing to give the ball back to one of the sag players as they were 2-1 and it was at the end of the game. 24. Are you sure this is accurate? Seems very unlikely to me that 60% of the sags hate Plymouth but only 40% of them hate us, when we're all they talk about
  25. Walsall have just sold George Dobson to Sunderland for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £2 million. **** me! Dopey must be buzzing he got out of that shithole, now he can actually get money for his best players!
