  1. If we did get 15, i cant really see that we would be happy to spend more than about 3 on replacements given the state of our finances? The replacement for scott should have been benarous but we dont know how he will be following the injuries. ideally we can get another million or so for bentley and massengo and get some more of the big contracts off the wage bill
  2. Yeah he had a nightmare, i felt really bad for him. Pearson really had it in for klose after that though and obviously completely lost faith in him…. That was as bad a game ive seen by us in a long time, and thats up against a wide selection of shambolic performances
  3. Shit a brick,, im having ptsd seeing that list
  4. You saying liam robinson and henry mckop werent decent?? Ok fair point
  5. Totally agree, dasilva might be a tidy player but offers not a lot,,, he should be released, along with quite a few others… what a shame though with the money we have lost on all these players!
  6. Yes, weve been shit for 40 years but those fans are really letting everyone down
  7. Just been reading up on all this,, those tweets are pretty embarrassing! i will add my usual comment,, as a club we are mediocre, the only shining light is tinnion and the way he is planning for the youth players to come through, oh and thought that we can remove 5/6 big salaries in summer 23. the owners disappear for months at a time and cant be trusted to pick a manager, the money was all pissed up the wall, weve a couple of very good youngsters who will be sold but on the whole the senior pros just arent very good, and we have had this for decades… false dawns, new signings who cost millions and are pathetic , new managers who are rubbish,, its no wonder the team gets booed off when we have seen it all before. i took my kids to the lincoln game, it was embarrassing and they havent asked to go back…. That was a disgrace, and if thats what 2 years of pearson can serve up then he can go now,, but i have no faith his replacement would be any good, why should any of us expect better? so on to pearson, how many players has he bought in? Ive lost count, but how many have been a hit? He spent about 2 million on 2 defenders who are in and out, plus naismith and klose neither of whom are great, then wilson who couldnt get in before he was injured cause sykes was preferred out of position and is now on the outs, james and king are both slow in midfield and make very little impact, bajic looks like bentley mark 2 and has played one poor game in 6 months. We still struggle to defend, and its a surprise when we arent losing most weeks. The trick is not to take it too seriously anymore!
  8. RIP to the legend, brazil has lost its icon.
  9. We are shite,, there isnt any great surprise, whoever comes in will be pretty shite cause were bristol city and we couldnt run a piss up in a brewery,, and we haven’t got the money to get anyone decent.
  10. I wonder if leicester were actually winning at the time? pearson has done well at one club, and that was a long time ago, and its not bristol city. Hes poor, the club is poor, the players are mostly poor he should be gotten rid of but i have no faith that we will get anyone any better in, and even if we did, we have 2 or 3 actually good championship players and no money so we basically have no chance to do anything.
  11. Totally agree,, and its not a lot different than being a city fan!
  12. Nice to see max doing well,,, bajic, after that lincoln game looks exactly what i hoped he wouldnt be, flapping and lacking authority… for a team who let so many goals in from set pieces and close range in general, i would have hoped for a bigger stronger keeper to come in,,, the dutch keeper in the world cup has played most of his career in the 2nd division in holland,, he would have been great 2 years ago, obviously now completely out of our league!
  13. Would you trust us against boreham wood in the 3rd round??
  14. I actually know the 2 lads and their dad at the start,, they are good people,,, its all very good laughing at rovers when we would never royally bugger up a cup tie against a lower league team,, unless we play lincoln obviously….
  15. Hope Not re benarous,, him and scott look great,, if scott goes, benarous coming in would soften the blow significantly
  16. This is it,, he set us up to try and not lose,,, and just about got away with it… whst happens when we play someone actually good is a whole different matter
  17. This is what weve been waiting for!! Go on antoine!
  18. He seems to have matured over the last few years, working with pep seems to have helped with that.. he’s probably also aware that a lot of the kids look up to him, maybe cause of his looks and hair and playing style,, he captures their attention more than some of the others, and realises a couple of moments of his time can have a huge influence on kids
  19. I agree,,, desperately trying to play long ball now, any team going to the world cup with your main game plan is going long to keiffer moore really shouldnt be there.
  20. Half the world has dodgy cultures and beliefs, you see christian aid adverts raising money for 12 year old girls having to marry much older men, while the catholic church have been covering up child abuse for decades, the media never report on that stuff because its not part of their propaganda to do it. The world Is basically shit, we had people pulling down statues in bristol when there are any number of countries in the world where slavery is still regularly practiced, if they felt that strongly they would be campaigning outside embassies and pulling them down instead. I expect every country there has had some sort of human rights/ culture issue over the last 30/40 years… obviously not merry old england though whose royalty is beyond reproach and we beat up the miners.
  21. Love conway, now im watching scotland u21s on iplayer… 1-0 to scotland, tommy didnt get it, but just smashed a shot in which the keeper stopped with his face and needed treatment.
  22. Yep hes looking really good. Someone further up the food chain will take him at some point
  23. Exactly this,,, lots of people on that list wont be turning down a (estimated) 300000 salary at a relatively stable club where the expectation is to finish one place higher than last year and to survive, regardless if they have got a massive transfer warchest available or not. Edwards, schumacher and robins appear to be the best options as far as i can see…. But i just cant see anyone coming in and doing much without tens of millions to spend each year and being able to compete with parachute clubs on wages.
