I remember it was like the Wild West as we left the ground

Certainly was Sticks, back and for for ages, me and mates were up shit creek when the bulk of our lot went up the embankment to board the waiting special back to Bristol , heads down and mingle ??

Will be the largest following we’ve had over there since we used to have the whole of the Grange End at Ninian.

Oct 1989 , won 3-0. Loads of City there , Lashed down . Coins a plenty coming over back wall.  City broke out after match, carnage on Sloper road .

Luton were the right club, twice! Stoke and Southampton are/were not. He will end up at another Luton and be successful. Warnock picked his clubs and was a hero to their fans. He was, after all, outspoken. I’m not trying to argue with you, but I think he will end up being a similar Manager/ character.

Luton were/are his level, Stoke and Southampton, a level far too far. Blows too much smoke up his own Hershey highway. Valley version of Hollowhead. Be pricing up chicken hutches around Rhondda soon?

I thought that Children were not allowed in there?

It looks mega from our upper Lansdown family tickets, devoid of almost any atmosphere whatsoever ?

No idea tbh. Here is a photo of Cardiff away end

I just bought a safe standing ticket....

You on the train from Caldicot ??

I was so much in a hurry to get 3 tickets, I didn't even see there was an option between seats and safe standing.

Assume it will be ok for my 8 year old son to see from?

It’s just seat with a rail  in front to lean on ,hold onto. We have the same in section 82 corner

  6. Got to be the most expensive tickets ever?  Wow . Cardiff away with train included will be cheaper than this for me and young un. Got a choice to make as cannot do both at this price

will end up being a happy clappers paradise

The back row or couple of back rows seem to get away with standing, although that varies.

They gave up on asking the guys up there, as rightly pointed out to stewards on many  occasions ,  S82 stood before rail seating, away fans stand, all in the same stadium. Standing in the back row/2 rows doesn’t obscure any views. I sit up there . When it’s a big game people stand on the walkway at back .

So it's nothing to do with supporting the team, then. It's just a chance to be closer to the away fans and call them w*nkers. Mint.

Is that what I said. Err no. Don’t try and patronise me. It’s all about creating an atmosphere by being closer to away fans and singing back and for , where does calling them ******* come into my comments, please enlighten me??? I just think it’s going to cause problems on Saturday.

You simply can't stand in a seated area and block the views of people who have bought tickets already and want to sit.

Super, I know you cannot do that, they are not going to congregate in E34 to sit down and sing are they . I believe the aim is to replicate what happened on Sunday and that was stood for 90 minutes having banter with away fans .

Surely the people already there can't choose who else are in there? As long as they are sat down and don't block view of others what harm are they doing?

I don’t think the aim of the move is to sit down and not block the view of others, it’s going to be to replicate what happened against Swansea, stand and create an atmosphere whilst stood up, but on Saturday there will be SC holders sat in their seats who may well be totally against the idea. I think it’s a great idea but it will cause problems if not done properly via the club .

  11. E34 is the block where the club sells cheap tickets to encourage day trippers to become new fans. Birmingham will be lively on Saturday so now this is being put out there expect the club to be all over it on the day. Also there will be a number of regular SC holders back in their seats on Saturday in there so taking over it might not go down to well. ?

It looked like those who were in the lower tier first half got moved for the 2nd half. Was that right? There were definitely a number of fans in the lower tier at the start and then none later - I assume the stewards had moved them due to the Swansea fans taking over the netted area

Yes could be that but deffo fans from elsewhere in Dolman/ South stand made their way there, good to see.

schooooooooool in the morning, made me laugh in their welsh accent. Fans were quiet first half in Dolman block by Swansea fans understandbly so given how shite we were and came out for the 2nd all buzzing and chanting away even before the goal, fair play to them

There were a lot more in Dolman E34 second half , probably double those there in  1st half. It was good to see and raised the atmosphere another notch.

Having done mine 25 years ago (right knee), things have moved on.  For me they took part of my patella tendon and replaced by ruptured ACL with that.  They also use hamstrings, and more recently other people’s tendons (transplants in effect).

Some of the issues come from the original rupture and how much damage done to meniscus.  I had two-thirds of mine taken out as it was damaged during the side hyper-extension I suffered.  So part of my knee became bone-on-bone, and that wear and tear caused issues, predominantly fluid.  It also meant I over compensated on my left knee and had two cartilage ops within 12 months of each other and am now about 10 years after being told I need a mini knee replacement on my left knee.  I was 41 at the time and John Webb said “do you reckon you could live with it for 20 years, or else we will have to do it twice”.  As I do little active stuff these days, I put it off, but the odd walk around a golf course brings fluid to both knees.

I hope Ayman has done just the ACL and he can come back, but he has a long road ahead of him.  Really feel for him.

Re Cheese, I believe he did his cartilage, but had actually broken his knee-cap too, and it wasn’t diagnosed.  Pounding the Dolman steps just made it worse.

Jeez Dave, just drifted off whilst reading that and lashed me pint over keks and sofa??

Didn't someone get killed in Wales by a flare a few years ago?

    Edit

    Sad story

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-24931000

Remember watching the game live on Tv. As the studio guests were about to sum up game you could see the flare launched from one stand straight into the other. Distress flare so would have hit like a mini missile without the explosion .

That’s brings painful memories from school.

Wasn't the story that Bristol City Council ordered 1000 rolls, not realising it was 1000 pallets!!!  Hence why all Bristol Schools had it for years.  Probably an urban myth, but is quite funny.

Was Izal the tracing paper like big roll?? If so I have bad memories of that from my days in primary school in late 70’s?

I’m not sure we do now, certainly didn’t at Cardiff last year or Swansea last time I was there.

I know we have many times in the distant past but hopefully not so much nowadays

I went to Swansea last year and we went out at final whistle, the reason being was that it was absolutely chucking it down. Although it was still kickin off on dual carriageway

Cardiff fans were pretty good until we scored and then our second completely shut them up and there literally wasn't a peep from them after that.

We were in Dolman E34 and I thought they were awful, never heard a peep all game from them
