There were Cole not gas t shirts

Yes there were Sticks , I remember going to watch us at Luton when Andy Cole was playing and saw a bloke wearing one. This same bloke got up and shouted at Steve Claridge when he came to retrieve a ball for a corner “ Oi Claridge, pull your socks up you feckin scruffy Kent”

Shelton was such an excellent player. He scored City’s first goal in my first ever away game (3-0 win at Cardiff in 1989 in torrential rain, a game when Super Bob scored a screamer of a volley).

That was one lively game before and afterwards. I was in top corner of grange with a blue and white golf umbrella, came in handy as not only kept rain off but also the hundreds of coins coming over the back wall. Absolutely pisched down all day long .

  3. Mad as **** over there, would love to watch a game in Argentina/ Brazil but don’t think I’d have the nads to ever do it. Whole different level.

supposedly a large cult following for Newells in this country because of Bielsa being manager of Leeds, anybody ever seen there shirts being worn in Whorefield?

Great news for Andi….selfishly I’d rather he rested up during the break.

Selfishly I would prefer him to score the winner at Legoland against Wales then pull up his shirt to reveal a City t-shirt underneath ??

Talking of Big Nev, I saw a photo of him earlier.

My goodness, he is absolutely huge.

Does anybody know whether he is ill?

He is not ill, just living life the way he wants to live it. Best keeper  in the world in his prime and best I have ever seen live and I had that privilege on many occasions in my teenage years.

    Do I smell gas?

Sticks 1969 is as true a red as anyone. I first saw him in the late 80’s on Ashton road with his Poland and Turkey city beanie hat on. Those were the days .

I have been to 3 Freight Rover/ Johnstones paint trophy etc finals and we have won them all, I was unable to attend the Walsall and Stoke finals but was unfortunately at Wembley for the Hull play off final which ruined my 100% finals record.

You have seen us win 3 finals but missed the Walsall final which was our 3rd victory????  Bolton , Carlisle and Walsall

It’s a good question - apparently Newport is a city and county borough in South Wales ...

Newport was only given City status in 2002. Always known as County from the off.
Natives of Newport were and still are known as townies to those in the surrounding areas.

Surely some mistake? They’ve clearly counted the Ukrainian refugees we’ve let in and not the thousands of loyal and true?

These were the 556 queueing to get proper Fanta and  in date crisps before game, they never went in , just queued for in date food .

If they do come down it will be another club "too big for the championship" and one that "deserves to be in the premier league" Ala villa and leeds.

Much bigger club than Villa and Leeds.
they are in Freefall. I too have a big soft spot for Everton and have been to Goodison on many occasions when a youngster with my late father who went to University in Liverpool in his younger days.

Of course the guy was better off keeping quiet. But 100% agreed – you'd think that there wasn't enough violence in the world at the moment wouldn't you?

What would make you start hitting someone because of that? It is pathetic, embarrassing behaviour.

If you need to just give him a hard time with some banter. It's only a game funnily enough...

Football is so so much more than just a game I am afraid, runs much deeper . Been telling my Mrs this for years and she still doesn’t get the whole feeling of what it’s like supporting your club up and down the country for over 40 years. Passion , loyalties and friendship and respect , make it so much more than just a game. If it was just a game we wouldn’t pin our colours to the mast .

If anyone "invited it" it was that guy. Not just celebrating their goal and unveiling his shirt (he was wearing a zipped-up coat at the start of the match) but goading and insulting the crowd sat around him.

Either a committed masochist or an idiot.

My poor chap comment was slightly in jest as you are correct in what you say, I was sat a few yards away in A block and he was a complete bell whiff with the Billy big balls attitude.  Wasn’t he rumoured to have been from Plymouth?

Can’t remember the game but I do recall one fan being ejected from the top of the Doleman and completely missing most of the steps on the way down to the bottom. I was seated in the Williams at the time …he was like a pin ball …:laughcont:

Leeds at home around 2011 I think??? Poor chap got pummelled all the way down the Steps as again stewards were slow to react. He was wearing a Leeds shirt .

Also, i believe (but do stand to be corrected), he unleashed a barrage of punches at an older guy which started the actual violence?!?

Was still acting like a ***** when being taken out by the stewards.
