Why would people feel the need to mention someone's race/sex/sexuality/whatever when doing it? It's literally irrelevant.
Although actually - it's not entirely, because I can guarantee you she had to work 10x harder than all the other refs we've had this season to get to where she is. Bringing the fact she's a woman into it is just reinforcing those barriers she's had to break.
Oh - and it's not alright to call male refs "all the names under the sun" when they make an honest mistake at work... which is what they're doing. But that's another discussion!
People can be angry without getting personal.
Couldn’t agree more. Just had a look at some of the comments and think it’s pretty disgusting.
Good to see that some fans are level headed enough to recognise she is not responsible for where they are and the position they find themselves in! -

So let’s get this right it’s alright to call male refs all the names under the sun on here when they give calls against us,the minute a woman ref gives us a shocking decision she’s the best thing since sliced bread
It depends. Calling a male ref all the names under the sun doesn’t, if he’s deemed crap, usually include his being male. I suspect the insults are about her being female and crap or whatever.

I think the main thing she had which many refs don’t was consistency. The way I saw it although some around me thought she was a bit picky, was that what she actually did, was apply the rules consistently. I thought it was pretty refreshing.
She certainly got the adding time on for injuries and time wasting even within injury time.- 3

Sorry what?
The ball was kicked into the Huddersfield’s centre half’s stomach, after which we had possession and she decided to stop the game and return the ball to them via an unopposed drop ball. The games gone!Sorry. Was responding having heard someone else moaning she stopped the game when she got knocked, thought that was what you referred to.

Since when does getting the ball kicked in your stomach warrant stopping the game and the ball being returned to you from the opposition for you to to restart the game unopposed?? ******* joke
Well how could she referee the game whilst getting the ball kicked in her stomach. You wouldn’t bat an eyelid if a player went to the floor. If there’d been a foul against us and she didn’t give it cos she didn’t see it would you be happy with that?

It makes a change to have someone other than Ian as the podcast villain. Flippin heck, what a pile in on Lez who is only expressing his opinions!!
@headhunter I get you not supporting the pile in on Lez. With the greatest respect though, he isn’t only expressing opinions about football, he’s chosen to insult fans who happen to have a different opinion to him.
Comments like “bed wetters” and “the cult of Nige” just seems infantile to me and unnecessary. Can he not give his opinion without that?
What “the cult of Nige”, actually means is anyone who hasn’t enjoyed Manning’s football and didn’t appreciate the way NP was sacked, which isn’t exactly controversial. It doesn’t take us forward when people use your platform to continue getting these remarks in and is used to shut down conversations Your podcast is better than that in my opinion.- 12

Did he say that? I must’ve left by then!
Just after the “bed wetters “comment. It’s the usual shutting down of the discussion tactics.

I think anyone expecting wholesale changes to the squad over the summer are going to be pretty disappointed
As explained was rather a tongue in cheek comment.

The way I saw it was that Manning could see we were playing badly and were lucky to go in at 0-0 so he hooked AM off and went to a back 5 to shut up shop and play for the point. I don't like that.
Yes said as much at the time. Seemed like he was going for a draw, by pulling off wells Mehmeti and Sykes.

He was very happy with the squad he "inherited". He said so, it was a big par of the draw to the club.
I was being a bit tongue in cheek.

Plenty of comments over the years on here of no away point is a bad point.
Don’t think anyone could argue with your comment, but makes poor watching.

One team won 2 in a row with very pressure on them
Another team just got spanked 5 , no surprise they are more up for it
Sorry not a reasonable excuse in my mind. That’s the least we can expect isn’t it.

Changes? How about Williams for James and McCrorie for Roberts?
Yes I’m thinking Williams definitely. Haven’t seen Roberts doing much.

I think you’ll find the majority of your ‘moaners’ have way more of an issue with how this club is run, rather than with Manning himself, even though he’s far from inspiring.
And no matter how many times someone explains this, it’s convently forgotten.

It’s funny I never heard anyone say the players weren’tPearson’s players, when he inherited Holden’s players.

Yes. We’ve seen refs apply these added time rules that were supposed to be coming in this season in the Prem, but few refs in the championship, until today. So fair enough. They risked playing the game a certain way and it came back to bite them I’m afraid.
