  1. By my reckoning TWO City players (Permanent not loanees) have gone on to win a Premier League Winners Medal Anyone name them ?? , ones easy , one a little more of a test
  2. Considering his regular employments and pay offs , I’d love to know what his average annual income would be over the last 10-15 years , probably more than Klopp or Pep Clever strategy really
  3. A ‘stud conversion’ is nowt to do with football boots Dave More of a ‘small medical procedure’ On a serious note - as a kid , getting some new boots for Xmas , the smell and that shiny new spanner ! ? Happy days
  4. I’d avoid Social Media if you want to see Footballers , or anyone else who have a good income enjoying some benefits personally !
  5. Like most of us (thankfully) I’m not blind Ska Todays ‘performance’ was almost bizarre in its issues , out of sync with what we’ve come to expect , whatever a final result Pearson himself seemed shocked (As well as clear anger) at it For me , I’m now looking at how individuals and the side and squad react, not necessarily just for Preston (Although it has obvious significance) but as an overall , up to the World Cup Can Pearson galvanise them , get them back on the tracks , get a response His problem is , he will know he cannot go too hard or threaten anybody with a bus exit as the squad he has available simply doesn’t have enough quality in depth He needs to get performances out of players that privately who he thinks fall below his real requirements A test for Pearson and one to watch closely IMHO
  6. Simple answer Dave ........ No What would concern me far more would be 4 more abject performances back to back Far more important than a points tally for me personally I try and look at an overall picture , and trends , signs good or bad, and as deep as I can , with the limited information we have and look for the underlying symptoms rather than whether the latest performance is Brazil like or Barrow like I try and look at whether he is improving us as a Club , and Within the restrictions , the overall job he’s doing more so than whether we finish 16th or 12th (I’ve never thought we had the depth or quality to turn results in week in week out to be much more) I keep saying , I don’t think he’s a Messiah, he makes errors and I’m perplexed he hasn’t (Via his coaching staff) improved some of our basic defensive flaws , and the recruitment of Tanner and Wilson but with an obvious reluctance to use raises fair questions, but I think his deep qualities are a very positive thing for the club at this time You like Tinnion and I suggest would say he has a decent football knowledge and understanding , and the best for , and success for the Club , totally in his heart ............... ............Hes a Pearson fan (and multiple times more awake and witness to what goes on than any of us)
  7. I think individually , and collectively , as a side we need to be right ‘at it’ and a 8/10 to get results I don’t think we have the quality across the side or squad to drop too far from a good / excellent level , and with a thin squad and a fair bit of inexperience that’s difficult to do , week to week Missing the experience of James , Klose , Kalas , Naismith today and at the moment doesn’t help I can for that reason , at least ,understand why he wanted to go with King today
  8. It was an unusual comment and not sure how to interpret it I thought he was more inferring that players ‘not on their game’ wanting to throw the towel in and come off needed to learn to feel it and deal with it A good interviewer (or a brave one) would have pushed on the subject
  9. Wow Some sense , written with some thought and understanding Really good post I think ‘Bumps in the road’ were talked about when we were firing only 3/4 weeks ago ’Oh yes of course’ is the reaction .....until a bump in the road when it’s ‘Oh no , I don’t want any bumps’ Luckily the majority can look a lot deeper and watch with some thought and can see our situation and the job Pearson is doing (To varying degrees dependent on your personal view) but we have some really identifiable posters who only appear when results go against and have been anti Pearson for some bizarre reason since the day he was appointed, as their posting history shows Hes not the Messiah , but he’s solid , experienced , and honest He has some flaws and is no tactical or coaching ‘genius’ , makes his own decisions , some which appear brave or strange , but wears them , and the result of them The messiah ? No , but lots of great qualities that we , as a Club , need desperately right now IMHO
  10. And Dave I heard Ian say he would have sacked him last year, let alone now (His opinion Tbf ) And none of the three of you said you would back Pearson in the transfer market with any money if we sold Scott , Semenyeo etc (I think Mark may have said yes but appeared too frightened to disagree) So although you weren’t shouting ‘Pearson out’ directly , If you aren’t going to support him in changing the squad when he gets the chance you need to get rid - it’s a sacking by strangulation
  11. You are not the first to report this ‘vibe’ I do find it bizarre , one thing you couldn’t question for last 8/9 months a re these things and it sounds like these fell collectively off a cliff today Unexplainable and totally bemusing really
  12. Massengo , Sykes , Conway , Wells ..... Drop the lot of em As was suggested on FBC. ‘play the kids’
  13. No , not ‘quite happy’ Dave But Firstly with some young players and a muddled together squad that he is limited to change I’m prepared for some bumps in the road Im surprised at our defensive frailties or the lack of progress in that sphere , and if I’m being brutal I don’t think the current wing backs or any of our centre half’s are of a great level defensively hKlose at his fittest) , and in some cases with the ball I don’t see Pearson as any messiah or a great tactical genius , he’s a manager not a coach, and along with his coaching staff makes mistakes But I do believe in his base processes ,his experience and what I see and hear from him , and I am totally comfortable that he was absolutely the man , or sort of man we needed to get onboard when the titanic was in danger of going down , And certainly with all the circumstances , still is I’d remind you we have ZERO football knowledge or nous above Pearson at the Club , .........ZERO No infrastructure , save it would appear the Academy , but zero infrastructure of note for any manager or coach to walk into Hes not trying to muddle together a first team with little wiggle room or chance to change , but trying to form a Football Club
  14. Good post with a number of (IMHO) good thoughts / views Not someone knee jerking blindly
  15. There will be all sorts of theories and gossip around the Preston selection , disregarding things like fitness Yes I can see today’s performance costing someone or some their place (And if that’s the case they’ve slid down to the bottom of the snake and will need to reclimb the ladder) But I can also see Pearson using the opportunity to give one or two , even the group, a stinging kick up the arse and challenging them to respond One things for sure with our squad depth and quality he can’t make too many changes Its an interesting time IMHO , to see who responds , do they collectively respond , who steps up, A test for Pearson and this squad
  16. For all your sarcasm , I take it you have noticed how Pep has managed to improve things at the Eithiad since then As I understand it Dyche was still on the waiting list for advice before he lost his job and Klopp is currently on a direct line 24/7
  17. And as people pointed out See Saw reactions from week to week or month to month Suddenly Pearson needs to go and the Club needs tearing apart
  18. ‘Proper Manager’ ???? Danny Wilson ?
  19. Is that Wilder who was sacked with Boro in relegation places ? (Not saying who is better manager but every fan who can’t show any patience thinks the ‘latest name’ is the golden ticket - it’s ridiculous)
  20. Still , must catch up with Ian Gay Live He will identify the problems and the remedies Then we will all feel better
  21. Some belter texted RB demanding Pearson sacked and Wilder or Dyche appointed Jesus Wept - we have a whole section of ‘fans’ who behave like spoilt 5 year olds - and we take the p out of the Sags !
  22. Simmering I think covers it Will be interesting to see what the response is from players midweek because I few will have burning ears
  23. Had a small ‘medical procedure’ Should be available Sat if not midweek
