Is the commentator watching the same game?

I mean if his level is Derry, his level isn't us. Good luck to him though.

As said on another thread we SHOULD be matching/competeing with most of the teams in the play offs atm even with our current squad and at least a couple more just outside.
Really there is no reason why we shouldnt be, apart from WBA there is no-one to fear up there, even they (WBA) are not unbeatable; poor team selection and management is keeping us where we are.
Whatever you do today, don't check yesterday's score.

Atkinson, whoever... Anyone but Vyner.
-
I can't believe at 5-2 down I'm not too upset, probably because I wasn't expecting anything.
Bar Vyner, who's utterly awful, I think we've looked alright. I feel for Kala's who's thinking for his own and others games ATM.
Ignore today's result and there are some positive signs moving forward. Semenyo is the striker we needed this January - get spending any money we have or can on a centre back, right back and a winger if all or any are possible.
Brutal afternoon though against these, so clinical and clearly targeting our weakness.

VYNER AGAIN DOING NOTHING FFS

Vyner again, so weak on the line.
-
Semenyo looks the real deal!

Then why is he picked?
Can only guess because we don't have enough options.
Let's face it, if he came from Lens and Taylor Moore can from the academy Vyner would be at Hearts and Moore would be here. Both are nowhere near the level required here.

so soft, Vyner is a complete mismatch there.
As he is almost every week.

I thought he had a good game today. Think he linked well with Pring too.
Sorry to respond to you again. RE: COD - I prefer !y wingers to assist and score. COD never does, or will do, either annoyingly. Would like to see us move on at the end of his contract.

My tweet to 20Man
Mr Miserable’s tweet….he couldn’t find anything positive to say after that…sums him up.
I think what he says is fair enough. They don't score their goal had we been better in and around the box (mainly looking at CODs finishing and crossing), Conway had a chance beforehand too. Against this level of side you have to take your chances.
That being said I also agree with you on him not stating anything positive. We played very well over 70% of the pitch and imo were the better side for 95 mins.

Punished for some very poor finishing and play in the final third. Would like to see a couple of wingers brought in for sure.
If we could get a few players in things will start looking much brighter based on what we're starting to see.

Surely if we do not keep players like these we might as kiss our asses goodbye. Because we ain't going to get to the prem.
Exactly. The aim for the next 2-3 years will be avoid relegation - nothing out of the club suggests otherwise.
Bad feeling that won't be achievable if we're relying on our academy players to ensure that.

TBH I felt the same before last season. He's aging very well and was the "must sign" of last summer for me.
Not at all surprised he's one of our most important players nowadays.

Gotta say I thought the starting line up looked shocking defensively and so it played out but well done to him for not only making the changes but firing up the side at half time leading to a brilliant turnaround.
I hope this is the wake up call the club needs. Before the likes of Bryan and Reid the Academy produced no one of real note for most of the previous 20 years. We've now gone to believe we can almost wholly rely on it where it is quite clear a number of the youngsters aren't ready or maybe never will be for this level in all reality.
Let's invest in some transfers and kick on to give us some hope for the next season now. Well done Nige.

Oh god what are you miserable gits going to moan about now ??? That really must upset you. Probably ruined your game time moanathon. But don't worry we will let one in with a minute to go so you can carry on.
You sound a bit fragile.
Pearson sorted this at HT, fair play to him for that. Glad he promptly saw enough of some of the youngsters and their lacking ability at this level.

its half time, everyone before the game was saying well done for all the youth, then when were only a goal down at half time, you say this crap, our fan base is truly embarrassing!
Yep. I said before hand I didn't like it and thought we'd need 3 goals to get anything. I think I'm wrong, we'll probably need 4.

Shame the first 15 minutes positivity got knocked out of us by the first goal. Towler and O'leary should have done better with the cross for their goal. Pen I'm less blaming Towler as Afobe was through and he was coming over to cover. If he had not dived in, a very good scoring opportunity. After that the game passed us by. Shame, as we have tried to keep the ball on the ground but the crisp early pass and movement was gone. Confidence is a big thing . I do think we can get back in it, but we will need to be more competitive in the middle. Would expect HNM in place of Ayman B as first change .
The second was caused by the ease of Afobe getting away from Towler imo. To slow to react to what was happening in front of him.
Dont wanna dig him out but this is what happens when you put players not capable of this level against the likes of Afobe and Bradshaw. Shocking decision to play him today imo.

Since the start of October he didn’t start 3 games.
Just a moment ago it was two. Gonna have to trust the Grimsby fans on this one.

Nope. Started 14 of last 16 games
Sorry, you're not correct. He's started twice since the end of October in the league, one in the cup, and was entirely dropped in all other games.
Edit, not entirely dropped just didn't get off the bench.

Odd, the Grimsby fans online were saying otherwise.
Not doubting you but just passing on what they were saying.

Started most of his games for Grimsby
I thought he'd been benched for his last month or so there following poor form?
