Played against a team who are 12th in the home league table and missing their best player. Sorry. A good point but no more. People on here acting like we’ve beaten Burnley away.

How desperate are you that you have to go to a home form table to make them seem a mid table side, rather than a team sitting in the play offs. Trotting out stats that don't really mean too much without any context. Missing their best player? Did we have any injuries by any chance? What about selling Semenyo just a few games ago, no loss to us or that doesn't count?

As for being 15th, what did you expect this season with the squad that was available at the start of the season? Many (sane fans) would have snapped your arm off to finish 15th this season with a gradual improvement and consistency by the end of it, and if we finish in the top half it will be a huge achievement.

    8 points off 6th

    2 games in hand

    Cheers Burnley

The trouble is Millwall are 1 point off with 2 games in hand, Blackburn 2 points, WB 3 points both with 2 games in hand, we also have a horrendous run nearer the end of the season. I'd be amazed if we finish within 6 points of 6th, would love to be wrong but just cannot see it as we would need so many things to align. Just hoping for some more decent, consistent performances and a few youngsters get given some League experience when we are totally safe, and a Cup Final...

Why ? It' s the way all tickets will be in the future. One of the drivers behind it is to stop ticket touting. Most concert tickets have been digital only for a couple of years now.

How is this stopping touts? With Ticketmaster you can transfer your digital ticket to someone else who has a Ticketmaster account (assuming this is with all gigs through them). If they wanted to stop touting they would stop it, or at least make it a lot more difficult with IDs involved.

As for people saying everyone should have a smartphone, everyone doesn't have one, and plenty of elderly people simply don't want one as they don't like change.

What makes me laugh is the word altercation. It implies that there was some sort of back and forth.

Scott got  punched in the head from behind. That Evans is an evil ****, but I like Pearson’s attitude, we have got to learn how to play against sides like this and win. Something we haven’t done well since Gerry left!

The fact a 19yo completely dominated them is half of that equation.

Still cannot believe Cunningham hasn't been banned (yet), as I would expect them to be announced at the same time?

Just need the £50M (minimum) to build one then. Where's the arsewipe @Deluded Saggone? Strange how he / she / it / teapot / toaster has been absent since they started getting gubbed. One might think they were a glory hunting deluded wind up merchant. ?

Flapper keeps logging on to have a read but has just gone a bit shy, I cannot think why...

  6. Cannot see us finishing close to the top 6 purely on the run in, I agree with the post regarding our run in and probably fading. We could gain some serious points in the next 10/11 games if we stay consistent or even improve a little, but the run in is brutal and we will definitely be dropping points there.

I'd be over the moon to finish 12th, and get a decent amount of points in the next 5/6 games and hopefully pull right away from any relegation worry. Get safe, and also give a few more youngsters some more experience which will go a long way for the future.

Ps - I would love to see us beat the odds, just cannot see it happening, especially with another few FA cup games on the way.....

Revealing Unless new loan goalkeeper Balcombe does not play in the first three matches after signing. Rovers will have to play Brentford a substantial loan fee.
So Morecambe. MK Dons and Lincoln he will be starting.

He also revealed he does not get paid enough and he finances some of the backroom staff from his own pocket.

Also said players agreed won't pay gasheads travelling expenses for the ill fated trip to Morecambe. After saying they should

He was glad January window is over and keeping Collins & Coburn was pleasing (No firm bids for Collins) but hinted this Summer Collins will probably consider enhancing his career elsewhere

Not long ago didn't he say that they had a top 6 budget?

Not long ago didn't he say that he had to stop Wael spending too much?

Not long ago didn't he say........ (add whatever you want as a hell of a lot of it is made up to please "his" fans and they happily lap it up).

That’s right. Normally. However this case had a really impactive recording. It had more evidence than 99% of rapes would ever have.

But without the support of the girlfriend the defence could just say whatever they liked and it couldn’t be rebutted.

    It’s very sad really.

That recording didn't seem to prove there was any rape though did it? If it did he would have been tried in court.

If it also had more than 99% than other rape cases have then it shows exactly why the conviction rate is low, it is just so hard to prove.

There’s a club not far from us that specialises in employing people who have had brushes with the law..

Read something the other day about how incredibly low the number of reported rapes that reach court are, it’s a scandal.

No way are all (in fact many) of these cases made up, just a terrible legal system that we are “served” by.

But how do you prosecute them if they are generally unproveable? You cannot just find men guilty due to accusations. It is obviously horrible for any victim but I really don't see what else the law can do when it is a he said, she said, and especially when it is all behind closed doors with usually no witnesses.

Cus id rather see new proper fans of city rather than the what colour are bristol daytrippers... Ok?

My point is what you asked for are both the same things aren't they? You said you wanted a voucher system for the next home game to get a new fan, instead of some glory hunter turning up.

So what is to stop a glory hunter coming to the next game just to get a voucher, and what is the difference with a new fan - both may come back if there is an atmosphere and a great game with some excitement?

Do you honestly think that "proper" fans of Bristol City, have just this week chosen to support us and are turning up against Man City purely to watch Bristol City for the first time?

Typical city... Couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery....... Should be a voucher system for next home game get some extra  revenue maybe new fans instead of the glory hunting what colour are city in brigade....

What is to stop the "glory hunter" going to the next game to get a voucher, and how do you tell them apart from the "new fan" you speak of attending for the first time?  Aren't they also sort of going just to get a ticket for the Man City game)

too and they are both doing the same aren't they.

No that’s not what I am saying.  I am saying the CLUB can’t moan if the CLUB freeze a player out. The fans can moan as the fans haven’t chosen to freeze the player out.

    Ok thanks for clarifying.

If Scott refused to play, I just can't see how anyone would think the club can't moan about it just because they have froze out Massengo or any player previously. I just don't get that whatsoever but all about opinions.

  14. 44 minutes ago, And Its Smith said:

Fans and club can be different.  I disagree with freezing out Massengo so can then be annoyed if the situation you describe occurs.  I would see it as hypocritical to agree with Massengo being frozen out and then being annoyed at players pushing for a move

Sorry, I meant that as we all agree that Massengo has been frozen out.

Therefore, if Scott and Conway both refused to play for us now whilst in contract because they could get a better move now, you would be happy with that situation should it arise (simply because the club have frozen out Massengo previously)?

  15. 13 minutes ago, And Its Smith said:

Everton have frozen players out for refusing to sign a contract that they aren’t obliged to sign and then moaned when a player refuses to play. In my opinion they can’t refuse to pick a player and then have an issue with a player refusing to be picked.  Maybe my view is a minority one which is fine

So let's say we have frozen out Massengo (which seems we can all agree on). Are you now happy if Alex Scott says he refuses to play unless he gets a move now to a Prem club? Or Conway may have a few clubs watching higher up than us (even in the Championship), what if both said they wouldn't play for us now whilst being on contract. I'd be absolutely fuming seeing as we seem to have given them both a great chance with their lives/careers.

  16. Just now, And Its Smith said:

Maybe but clubs can’t have it both ways. You can’t freeze players out for not signing a new contract and then moan when players want a move for a better contract

Of course they can, that's how the contract works.

If a player wants to sign a life changing contract and say it's 5 years long then that is down to them and their representative isn't it? If they want out half way down the line of that contract, and actually refuse to play to try and force a move, and you think that is acceptable, then what is the point of a contract in the first place? The club can freeze that player out if they wish. More to the point why haven't the player and his agent negotiated a shorter contract in the first place - maybe because the greed got them then, and now even more greed is getting to them again?

I wonder if any of those players would happily move if their wages were being halved - or would they then happily see out their current contract.,....

  17. On 29/01/2023 at 11:17, And Its Smith said:

I think you know what I meant. I meant an expectation not to have a contract situation affect a selection.  Massengo might not expect to be picked but he’s certainly good enough for the bench.

I don't doubt that, but if he is going, and will be going for nothing (wasn't he also one who refused to go on loan, apologies if I have that wrong), then personally I would do the same as what Pearson has done with him.

If Pearson kept picking players who wanted out (but ability wise they should be on the bench), then when do these/our youngsters get given the chance and gain some experience? We got a bit of a feel good factor coming back and part of that is the amazing academy young 'uns coming through to the first team. I'd be amazed if the huge majority would want Massengo on the bench in front of what is currently being picked.
