  1. deeped to realize something
  2. Do you expect footballers to make no mistakes in the land, or just our players? I really don't get why some people think no teams should score goals after 80 minutes, where teams have tiring players, and where the opposition are throwing caution to the wind. Weimann could have made it 4-1 couldn't he, so we can blame him for not seeing it out better? If we'd have pressed more and conceded then people would moan about not trying to see the game out. It's just tedious how every week we need to find scapegoats for every little thing that has gone or could go wrong, and it never seems to be the opposition deserving to have scored against us (many times when they didn't mind). Mistakes happen, and more so when a team is throwing everything at you. I'll take being in front by a goal or two on 80 minutes every day of the week, rather than being the chasing team.
  3. They should worry about the lack of how many go to their home games and put money in the clubs coffers. Still, I am sure their numbers will treble or quadruple when they are in their 29,000 all seater at the Fruit Market. It must be opening anytime soon.
  4. This. I was trying to make the point of people actually thinking it happens a lot more than it actually does (to us). We also rarely seem to mention late goals when we score them, it never really seems to be the other teams fault, and it will always seem to be our play that deserved it. We have to accept that there are goals in football right up to the last kick of every game, and it isn't always the fault of the team conceding them. There can be many reasons (and yes sometimes it is our own fault), but it will always happen, and if anyone thinks every team should close out a 1 goal lead at 70+ minutes every single week then they are sadly a bit deluded imo. Ps - nice stats!
  5. When was the last time we were 2 in front and never won? This season we have been 2 in front against Blackburn, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Luton, Coventry (cup) and won them all. Last season Hull, Derby, Boro, Reading, Cardiff, all won. Against who were we really in danger of in any of those of throwing it away? Yes some teams may get one back, occasionally they will get two back or go on to win. But I would expect more teams to come back against us if we are still pressing, more open, and also tiring out even more players in an already extremely busy season. Sooner or later we will be 2 in front and go on to draw or lose a game, and their will be cries of how we throw away 2 goal leads regularly, when the facts are that we rarely do.
  6. It's been an excellent start and to be 6 points clear of 21st after just 8 games is exceptional imo, although I don't think it is quite yet the time to be after certain results from other games due to runaway leaders etc. We will at least have a bit of a cushion before the away games at Norwich and Burnley now. Both will be huge tests, but Burnley even more so with the short turnaround after the long trip to Norwich on the Wednesday, and then the trip to Burnley Saturday, whereas Burnley will have an extra day off after a quick trip to Preston.
  7. Bloke on EFL seemed to take the pee a bit about Bartons 20 minute monologue, and then his moan about the loans. How can any club build any type of sustainable future with loads of loans? Every season you make no decent sales, you don't play your own youngsters and let them gain crucial experience (future sales). Then the loan players go back and you are back to square one. How do you even take momentum into the next season or build anything longterm? I have nothing against loans at all, but why would you want to use loans to the max? That's even including telling fans you are reigning your owner in with him wanting to spend a fortune on players, how anyone falls for that nonsense I don't know.
  8. What about what he has done behind the scenes with the youngsters, and Conway in particular? Does none of that count? I'd say the amount of times Pearson has openly said he wanted to keep him regardless of his high wages, reports of what he does with the youngsters, how professional he was, he has certainly paid part of his fee back. There is no way he has been a total failure, and I know that isn't what you are saying here. But he should take some deserved credit helping bring on some of the youngsters, and how professional he has been in the U23s with his partnership with Conway. It also isn't his fault how much we paid for him and his wage.
  9. Joey "We want to get to a bigger Stadium"..... I wonder why?
  10. I remember my mate telling me when the "new" toilets were done in one of the bars they actually put the hand dryer directly behind the door so you couldn't stand in front of it to dry your hands or the door wouldn't open!
  11. He's surely having a laugh here. McCormick himself was desperate to return to Rovers and be reunited with Barton. He was entitled to a cut of the transfer fee, but he chose to waive that option to increase the amount paid to his now former club. Rovers owner Wael Al-Qadi was also pivotal in getting the deal over the line, too. Chelsea were set to profit from a sell-on clause from the transfer that took McCormick to Plough Lane last summer. Al-Qadi's contacts at Stamford Bridge proved valuable to the Gas once again, with Chelsea also waiving their cut of the fee.
  12. Straight out of the cryotherapy portacabin (probably an ice bath), and then warm yourself up with the burning pallets in the barbecue. This stuff is all there for a reason - this is football training at the very highest level, no wonder why they are the envy of the footballing World.
  13. Back on to give them some deserved credit.... Even knows what the Sags are lacking in their team. Well done fellow red....
  14. Having someone show up and being told he's your new player is completely different to any happy medium, getting carte blanche, or trying to get your own players.
  15. Who in their right mind thinks this will work at any club longterm? If it's true I don't blame him for walking.
  16. It maybe a results business, but it was hardly Holdenball. I cannot see how anyone could describe it as shocking unless it's describing achieved points only (or it's my Rovers mate). We played some decent stuff at times and bar some very dodgy decisions that were out of our control, we could easily have had 1 or 3 points at Hull and definitely 2 more from Wigan if they were down to 10 men considering the weather. No complaints with the Sunderland result though.
  17. There is some great positivity throughout the club and most fans, and some very decent performances to go with that, I think we will know a lot more of where we are at, at the end of October with over a third of the season gone. After a very tough run of 3 away games in 4 at Blackburn, Norwich and Burnley in September, we then have a busy October with a few more games which look easier (on paper). There will probably be more emphasis on the whole squad then with more players coming in for starts. We then have an easy November with Sheffield United, Boro and Watford to play...
  18. Out of curiosity, why do you only seem to show up when you think it's time to give them credit? Or have I missed all of your posts mocking them? I hate Man U, and I have Man U supporting mates, but I wouldn't go on a Man Citys fans forum to give them some sort of credit when it is due. Maybe just me, but it certainly seems bizarre.
  19. Exactly what I said earlier, it's actually a great decision by the ref.
  20. I wonder if they will finally break their record, or will it be some loans who they give back at the end f the season which generates them a total of eff all when they leave.
  21. It doesn't matter. Has Barton said Portsmouth have a superior team? He has called them PE Teachers, which quite frankly is pathetic. He said Rovers will finish above them if they play 442. Now assuming they played 442 today and it was such a bad formation, then how did they manage 23 shots and 12 corners? Just better players, or set up better? Better management? Who has managed at the highest level? Are there clubs queuing up after Barton? Didn't Barton say he had one of the biggest budgets in the League - so where are the signings? I am sure everyone in football would love to play for him.... The bloke is a cock, and got well and truly shown up today, so has gone for the deflection tactics with stupid comments. Shame Cowley didn't say after that it wasn't bad for a PE Teacher, and if he wanted to know how to set up a team he could give him a ring for some advice.
  22. Must be great to be a football coach, who has played the game at the top flight, then take the pee out of other managers who haven't, and call them PE Teachers. But to then get schooled by said PE Teachers takes some sort of special football coach. What does that say about Bartons ability? Still, a load of the poor sags will love all that sort of talk from him.
  23. What about his players diving all over the place today? What about Saunders (I think) who lost a header in the box and went down clutching his face? What were they trying to do Joey? Who was in charge of them trying to influence the ref? What about Marquis rolling around clutching his face last week in proper Neymar style, and also having a peep up to see if the ref sent the other bloke off, before clutching his face again. Other than that.....
