  1. Tonight's fans forum is the first women's one that has sold out, so I expect many will have questions...
  2. For those going to the fans forum tomorrow (see you there!), the club have finally confirmed that supporters can park on side for free, but need to scan a QR code to validate their parking. Much like those that park to travel on coach travel for the men's away games
  3. Posted on behalf of the board The Supporters Club & Trust board are pleased to announce that the next meeting will be taking place on Wednesday 8th May 2024, from 7pm to 9pm. Due to the Bristol City Women Fans Forum taking place in our Supporters Bar on Wednesday 1st May, our May meeting will not be taking place on the usual first Wednesday of the month. The agenda for the meeting is being finalised, but if you would like anything to be discussed as AOB (any other business), please email us at info@bristolcitysupporters.org We will try to get through as much as we can during the meeting, but this is subject to timing & cannot guarantee that all would be discussed. All our meetings are now held online over Zoom, so please make sure you have this installed on your computer or other device. If you would like to attend the meeting, please email us at the address above, and you will be sent an invite to the meeting. Our meetings are open to all. The meeting starts at 7pm & will be finished by 9pm at the latest.
  4. Minutes now online https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/april-2024-minutes/
  5. This article is news to me (no pun intended!) Am aware that this is third WSL relegation for the team, but I wasn't aware that City have been the most-relegated team in WSL history. I noticed a few omissions: Kaylan Marckese only returned back to Arsenal because of her ACL injury, and actually there have been five different goalkeepers that made WSL appearances (Benedicte Haaland who was on a short term deal came on as a sub in one game) Also noticed that the writer referred to the team as Bristol City, City, and Bristol all in the same article. Err...
  6. Posted in this thread, but Gavin Marshall will be on Sound of the City tonight (alongside Jon Lansdown)...
  7. Photos now here https://www.bcfc.co.uk/gallery/23-24-award-winners-announced/
  8. That's not a thing in the women's game. Otherwise, you'd have had the likes of previously relegated sides like Reading & Birmingham City be back in the WSL already
  9. Existing season ticket holders have until Monday May 20th to renew their seat. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/2024-25-city-women-season-ticket-faqs/
  10. I feel that (speaking purely as a fan here, not as a SC&T board member) Lauren has only been able to work with what resources she's been given. I listened to the Gavin Marshall interview on the Forever Bristol City podcast where he admitted that the team have the smallest budget in the WSL. I believe there has been more investment than last time in the WSL, but still not enough compared to all the other teams that have affiliations with Premier League clubs. Overall, the performances have been a lot better for most games this season, despite the outcome. I would remember when Tanya Oxtoby was in charge and the team would sometimes be 3-0 or 4-0 down within 20/30 minutes. But tonight I was so impressed that we kept Man City to a 0-0 at half time. Lauren's already proven her success in the Championship, but unfortunately only one team goes up to the WSL. And in this season, there was pretty much a five-horse race between Crystal Palace (eventual champions), Sunderland, Charlton Athletic, Southampton & Birmingham City. And with the likes of Newcastle & Portsmouth coming up to the Championship, it will be interesting. Also depends on who stays & who goes over the summer (as well as who comes in). The Fans Forum is happening this Wednesday evening at the SC&T Bar so fans have the opportunity to ask Lauren & Gavin themselves
  11. Unchanged starting XI it seems, but with some players swapped around in position KO 6.45pm, live on Sky Sports & BBC Radio Bristol
  12. Tell us you don't follow the team without telling us you don't follow the team
  13. Promotion confirmed for Crystal Palace - first time in the WSL. Drew 0-0 with Sunderland at Selhurst Park, but it was enough for them to secure the Championship title. And yep, it will be all teams affiliated with PL sides after Leicester City's promotion was confirmed...
  14. There's two more games left to play after tonight, or are you talking about the last game you are attending this season?
  15. West Ham just got a 95th minute equaliser against Aston Villa, FT 1-1 West Ham now on 14 points; gap between them & City now extended to eight points. City need to win against Man City tonight now to avoid relegation...
  16. See the post match section here. John Galley was presented with the first ever club Legacy cap https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/whats-on-rotherham-united-h/ (But I agree, there should have been more announcements on the day) Myself & @Blagdon Mike (representing the SC&T board) went pitchside after the full time whistle, and waited for the presentations to take place. President Marina Dolman & honorary vice president Doug Harman presented each winners with the respective glassware (and some of these photos have already appeared online). Myself & Mike had the traditional trophy & shield, for which we had photos with the winners - these photos will be sent to us & an article of all award winners/photos will go up on the SC&T website & social media once all awards are presented (the women's awards are taking place on their last home game on May 18th) The Men's Golden Boot award will be announced/presented sometime after the Stoke game as there is currently no clear winner (especially in case another player could catch up)
  17. As long as the team take it out on Liverpool on Wednesday rather than us next Sunday night!
  18. Yanez, Layzell, Bull (first WSL start), Furness come in for Bentley (illness), Powell, Stratigakis, Evans. Harrison makes the bench KO 12.30pm, live on FA Player & BBC Radio Bristol. I'm not at the game today as I'm in Norwich to see the men's team today. So it seems very fitting for the women to finally win at home this afternoon
  19. Some key points from the press conference: - Abi Harrison back in contention for the squad this weekend - Carrie Jones will be in the squad this weekend but Lauren Smith doesn't know yet if she'll play or not - Smith still doesn't think there's any major reason why the team hasn't won at home - A journalist in attendance said "Good luck for Sunday" not realising the game is on Saturday
  20. Have you considered donating it to the Bristol City Heritage & Archive? I think there's a few people more closely involved who may be interested @thatcham red @3 Peaps In A PodCast
  21. Rovers have announced that their women's team will go back to full control of the club (having been run by their Community Trust since the team was reformed in 2019). Not just that, but that the team will play all home games at the Memorial Stadium, as they compete in the National League South West (tier 4) next season... https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/20242/april/gas-girls-return-home-to-bristol-rovers-stewardship/
  22. Club have confirmed that fans forum will now be taking place on Wednesday May 1st, 6.30pm. Still at the SC&T Bar at Ashton Gate https://www.bcfc.co.uk/city-women-news/date-confirmed-for-womens-fans-forum/
  23. Also, this is the first season where the bottom two are relegated. Last weekend, both Newcastle United & Portsmouth won promotion to the Championship after winning the National League North & South respectively. (Pompey having their men's & women's teams promoted to both Championships at the same time? Crazy) The Championship has been mad this season as there has been no clear frontrunner, and one reason why I am worried if City do indeed relegated, it would be a struggle to get promoted back up right away
  24. From Liverpool's press conference today. Matt Beard has confirmed that Shanice Van De Sanden & Niamh Fahey won't be available for Saturday's game. As well as former City captain Jasmine Matthews... https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/lfc-women-injury-update-fahey-matthews-and-van-de-sanden
