Genuine question, but how often did a winger ever get the beating of Dasilva? Very good defensively, read the game incredibly well and produced plenty of interceptions! The height element we largely counteracted by reacting to the second ball but think you do him a big disservice by saying 'no good defensively'.

In terms of Roberts, he seems perfect for left of a 3 or orthodox LB in a back 4, doesn't have the explosiveness to play wingback but certainly has everything else in his locker to play across the whole back line. His over/underlapping runs last few weeks have reminded me of a higher level version of Derrick Williams in our league 1 promotion season.

Think next season could be a big year for him and think we'll see him more at CB than LB personally as his defensive game evolves.

He was forever getting targeted by taller wingers and beaten and cost us a number of times. Was much quicker before the injury, was ok going forward, but no way a defender. Sorry it has to be more than just having a good song to be a good player

  2. Never rated JD, too small so no good defensively, OK going forward

I would like to see Pring & Roberts switched, as I think Cam is the better defender and Roberts is better going forward, its a nice problem to have

  3. Excellent performance yesterday and shows he has the vision for a forward pass that has been lacking since we lost Scott. I suspect we will end up doing a deal for around the 3- 4m to cover most of what Burnley paid.

I think the forum would be better if people like you accepted that it is a forum and by its very nature it will have different opinions.

I don't agree with your posts, you don't see me telling you this forum would be better off without you. I just scroll past your posts. You should try it.

Nothing about not liking different opinions and know lots don't always agree with what I say and thats fine as we are city supporters from all walks of life and experiences, why I don't like your posts generally is you look to make everything a negative for the sake of it, as for scrolling by, you often face palm my posts for no reason, so perhaps need to practice what you preach

But back to the thread - you have been one of the most vocal about not going to renew, in fact it was that bad you were not even going to attend the last 3 games, but now you have changed to I would have renewed, but for some reason I moved from the SS during the season to the Lansdown which is more expensive and as you cant now go back to the cheaper SS, so you will not renew for that reason. So the football recentley most of won you over as you now would have renewed if it was cheaper.🤣

You clearly missed the posts where I said I moved to the Lansdown during the season.

Thought you would have known this as you consistently troll me.

    Stop twisting my words. I didn't say I couldn't afford it. I said I wouldn't pay 700 quid.

In your words, Let me make this very simple for you.

You have been one of the most negative boring posters on here, who have been shouting about had bad things have been consistantly since Nige was sacked, you were very vocal about how you will not be attending the last games this season as its so bad and will not be buying a season ticket, now its I would have bought one but can't as its not worth the money (never said that was the reason before)

As for trolling, unfortunately you keep posting sh1t which comes up on the forum, so feel the need to respond, I generally feel sad when a supporter says they are not going any more, but I was happy to make the exception in your case as the forum will be so much better without your posts

I currently sit in the Lansdown. 700 odd quid for us to renew.

Ultimately I was not willing to pay 700 quid for all the things you mentioned.

500 quid and I probably would have sucked it up and paid it. But not 700. Got it now?

You need to look back at your posts where you have said many times about you sit in the SS and moan about people buying cheaps kids seats and not attending!

But when you spout all your nonsense before its not been about I cant afford it, it was about Manning and the football and not buying a ticket for the manager to be changed half way through the season, this was before anyone knew the SS was not open for new ticket sales.

    Ha ha ha ha ha.

So because I've not renewed for the first time in god knows how long (along with many many others) I suddenly don't care? Every Bristol City that doesn't renew or buys a ST doesn't care about the club right? Bizarre.

Sorry that I care about the current trend in the game to push out season ticket holders and that I'm bringing attention to it. Please don't moan when we then follow the likes of Spurs who have scraped OAP tickets.

For the record I would have renewed if I'd have been able to buy one in the SS.

You lost me, you been banging on for ages about you did now buy a season ticket for a project change, numerous times about how bad the football is, aboout Manningball and will NOT be renewing, even earlier in this thread that Swansea finished it for you. Now you would have renewed if you could buy one in the SS, thought you had one in the South Stand, so all the other posts were like most of the things you post complete nonsense.

Personally I don't like it. It's the approach the big clubs are doing now. Prioritising potd.

When we ultimately struggle again then the club will be begging fans to buy season tickets and I'll laugh at that. Need to get the balance right.

Why should you care, you will not be there next year remember!

Well yeah, my thinking was flowing from there. Scott stays, happier NP, happier club- suddenly we are truly built for a 4-3-3..Scott  creating, carrying- best base around him yet. Everything (his fitness permitting) couldve panned out a bit differently.

But Scott did not want to stay, he was pushing for the move

Having used technology to broadcast football matches and then introduced the incident replay to audiences it soon became clear that some officials' decisions were not correct. That became a problem that the governing bodies sought to solve by using more technology and hence we now have the (somewhat primitive) method of an official in another town manually placing lines on a two-dimensional screen image and trying to extrapolate it into three dimensions. That still leaves lots of room for indecision and, indeed, errors in the system designed to eliminate them. I have to admit I am not a fan of technology used at the very top level that can't be used at grass roots - it makes it two different games, not one.

Goal line technology looks to have made it though. We rarely make such accusations about that system. Offsides and penalty shouts are the concern.

We struggle to accurately define a moment in time and a method to resolve it. However we try, we still end up with a subjective opinion based on a particular individual or individuals who are not the actual match officials. That's not withstanding the delays and stoppage of passions that now break up the game.

I don't see any real advance on what we will have for the forthcoming future but I do think there might be a better way forwards with regards to offside claims. Modern footballers wear tracking modules that log their every move on the pitch, sending a stream of data to receivers pitchside. So why not use them to determine whether they are closer to the goalline or not? I see this as analogous to the transponders used in motor racing that accurately determine lap times to a thousandth of a second. That seems to work well enough and is almost instant. I appreciate that in play it will have to be used retrospectively and that someone will still have to replay the incident to mark the exact time of the pass, but it might significantly cut down the lines and waiting around. It also defers the responsibility to a computer, not a human.

You would have thought in the days now of AI, an automated system could be introduced for offsides, which would make it much quicker and take the human element out of it.

The modern game is so quick its nearly impossible for a linesman to always be up with play and be able to look down the line when a ball is played.

I think most people would accept VAR if it was what it was introduced to be, "clear and obvious errors", if it can't be determined in 30 seconds its not clear and obvious so the refs original play stands, but thinks refs are currently not making the call and waiting for VAR to do it for them.

  12. I going against the grain here and all the expert sages we have on here, when he came on I thought he had a nice touch but looked a total stranger to his team mates which was not surprising given he had only just come in. The step up in fitness and speed of the championship is massive to a player who has not been playing, but the clips of him training from a while back he looked to have good quality finishing, but perhaps he needs time physically to be up to this level.

As for not getting on the pitch, I will give an alternative conspiracy theory that we are happy for other teams to not seem him play, particularly if we are having to negotiate a deal for him.

Of course I could be wrong and he will go back and never be heard from again, but even if thats the case we lost very little bringing him in and looking and so what if he is just sat on the bench we cannot fill anyway.
