I've sat in the Lansdown for a number of games over the last couple of years, and the issue of a half-empty South Stand seems to be a relatively consistent thing - I don't think it's related to half term, evening games, etc (though those factors may exacerbate the issue). I struggle to understand it. Are there really season ticket holders (even if on children's tickets) who are attending 10 games of 23 in a season? I get that you can justify it financially, but you'd imagine those who are bothered enough to go about buying a season ticket would also be quite interested in attending the matches! Is this a problem at other clubs too? I can't remember going to many away games and seeing a half-empty home end on a supposedly "sold-out" matchday.

Agreed. Surely the solution is to simply produce the retro shirts, but drop the tinpot narrative that comes with it.

A nice bit of skill, but as others have said, it's clearly an own goal when you see it from other angles. The decision to attribute the goal to Philogene is incredibly bizarre and makes a mockery of the whole process.

Appreciate where you're both coming from. You'd be right to assume I wasn't born in 1974, though I am aware of Leeds' status at the time. However, Leeds' former glory doesn't change my stance on this one, and FWIW I hold very similar views on our celebrations for wins over Liverpool in 1994, Man U in 2017, etc. "We beat team X in the FA Cup 5th round 50 years ago!" is the sort of boast you'd expect from a League 2 side. I appreciate we don't have much to celebrate, but I'd rather we just acknowledged that we hadn't achieved anything yet and got on with trying to do so. It's bad enough when we're talking about beating Liverpool, but Leeds!? This is a club who currently play in the same division as us and have done for most of the last 2 decades. It's the equivalent of Rotherham producing a shirt to commemorate their 1-0 win over Bristol City in 1968. Can you imagine how strange that would sound to us? 2 weeks ago, we were all disgruntled after failing to compete with Leeds in a 1-0 loss. The overwhelming feeling was that it's unacceptable for a team in our division to cruise past us so comfortably, and that we ought to look competitive at home against any side in the same league as us. Now we're producing a kit to celebrate scraping past said opponents in a cup game 50 years ago. It's rather ironic. Though we might talk of being a Premier League club in infrastructure and potential, this kind of thing suggests to me that we're a League 1 club in mindset. It's a mindset that I think we need to get away from if we ever hope to truly realise our potential.

IMO, Max falls into the category of "fine". He's perfectly acceptable for where we are, but if we want to push towards the top 6 then we need to be ruthless in saying that we want more than "fine". Unfortunately for him, when I look at our theoretical best XI, goalkeeper looks like one of the clearest positions for improvement (wide players probably being the priority assuming we continue with a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1). FWIW, I think Max's resilience across his time at the club is commendable. As a player who has served years as a back-up and had a season as our first choice Championship goalkeeper, I think he can be considered a success of the academy.

Worth noting that I think this is probably true of almost any goalkeeper in the Championship though, given that play-off sides are generally characterised by the fact their GK doesn't have to do too much.

Weirdly, I'm not THAT shocked by our last couple of results. We know that we play better when we have less of the ball, against teams who want to "take the game to us". That's very much been the trend since Manning has come in. Unfortunately, we've also been useless against bottom half* sides in that time. Under Manning, our record against teams in the bottom half is: P7 W0 D3 L4 I see the next 3 games as a much better assessment of whether we might actually be able to kick on. *at the time we played them

Agreed. I'm surprised so many were fairly keen to let him go at the end of the season. James was excellent tonight and deserved MOTM. Also a shout out to Dickie and Mehmeti who were worthy MOTM contenders.

Agreed. I was worried when I saw the ball falling to him given his recent struggles in front of goal. Hopefully the start of better things for him
