  1. We used to do something similar with Fielding in goal, always kicked it into touch, then it was revealed this was on purpose to give the opposition a throw in deep(ish) in their half so that we could press and win the ball high up.
  2. Same for all clubs when a new manager comes in, very few have the "option" to ditch 11 or 12 if they want though. All clubs have players under contract the new manager wants to get rid of but is stuck with.
  3. Walsh was never staying, no matter what we offered him - IMO.
  4. This performance would have got him sacked at virtually every other professional club, IMO. Played - 29 Won - 6 Drawn - 7 Lost - 16 Points per game - 0.86 Not saying he should be sacked but he is receiving exceptional support that many others have not. You have a different view which I respect.
  5. Yep good point. Therefore lets have a go at entertaining football as we surely would gain as many points as we are now = enough to stay up. Ticket sales, feel good (better) factor etc.
  6. He is going nowhere whatever happens, poor performance is excused and excepted at this point for the hope that a better future is around the corner. Owner and fans have gone all in with a coach with some history of success at this level and a perceived no nonsense pragmatic approach. At virtually any other professional football club based purely on coaching, performances and results he would have been sacked by now BUT credit where credit is due it looks like we are sticking with him and looking to give him the tools to do a long term rebuilding job, probably increasing in pace from the Summer (FFP etc). As poor as things are at the moment we have no option but to trust that there is a plan and we have the people in place to carry it out. Some decent attacking football in the meantime would be nice though please, might as well have a go at winning 4-3 than what we are doing currently.
  7. Maybe the confusion is that he was concussed (felt unwell) as well as injured in that incident. just a thought.
  8. Fair enough you may well be right on the contract front but on team selection there were what ended up to be empty threats.
  9. Last season he had little choice, until finally picking the kids. That's my point on "empty threats"
  10. Perhaps but same result. Can't help trust or confidence.
  11. Not sure he is fit enough, would have played some minutes in the U23s game you would have thought if he was close.
  12. No names, like this week a subtle "some are not with us" etc etc. Nothing wrong with that and actually honest and clear to all. BUT you must follow through with threats like that and several times last season he did not. Admittedly injuries were worse and choice perceived to be less, which is even more reason not to make "empty threats". - IMO.
  13. Absolutely. Check back to last season.
  14. Mike Bassett - Benson & Hedges - Bing video
  15. NP has form for chucking the players under the bus after a defeat and then picking the exact same team for the following game. Wouldn't expect many surprises. My team would be . Bentley Kalas Atkinson Pring Tanner DaSilva James Massengo Palmer Weimann Britton
  16. You ever seen him coaching ? You ever seen NP coaching ?
  17. NP gets a lot of leeway from fans, relying on past achievements and perceived "no nonsense, sergeant major" approach perhaps. Nearly every new manager inherits a "mess of unfit and useless" players but it is undeniable results have been horrendous since he came in . Hopefully the overhaul on the coaching front helps and an upturn in performances and results is not far away. Saturday will tell us a lot I believe.
