Oct 1989 , won 3-0. Loads of City there , Lashed down . Coins a plenty coming over back wall.  City broke out after match, carnage on Sloper road .

Check out the crowd that day on the 11 v 11 results web page, only about 6 thousand from memory and we had around 2 thousand there.

Playing devil's advocate in this instance she wouldn't know whether it was your first or your thousandth visit

It's because of people not sitting in the correct seats that is the cause for the additional checks

All down to training though, targeting the wrong age groups I'm afraid

Read my post again. Getting through the turnstiles is irrelevant as there are too many people who think they can buy a ticket for one area and then go somewhere else. That’s why the steward asked to see your ticket. She isn’t a jobsworth, she’s a person doing what she was employed to do. If people could be trusted there would be no need for stewards. The fact that you said  “how the **** do you think I got through the turnstiles” is disgraceful. I suggested you apologise to her the next time you go, but what about the example you’re setting to your 6 year old grandson? Not a good example is it?

So how about me then, 56 and no threat to anyone.  Walk up the steps with a Clarke pie in one hand and a tea in the other. Season ticket is in my wallet and i then get by asked by a kid to show her my ticket. I said I've been sitting in my seat for years I know where I'm going and carried on walking.  Then she starts shouting at me and i refused a second time,  am in the wrong as well.

We can all see the obvious technical skill,  awareness, timing, spacial awareness, weight of pass, movement etc...but there is one thing that really sticks out for me...and that's how he shapes his body to receive and move, not only in possession but out of it as well. He uses it to create space for himself, which in turn creates extra time. He also uses so well to protect the ball...in doing so he either creates space for himself or draws a foul.

The move he did yesterday in the lead up to the perfectly weighted ball down the channel to Wells...note how after beating the defender, he cuts inside across the defender,  blocking any tackle, and if there is one, it would lead to a foul.

He does this time and time again. It's a very special quality.

I'd love to know whether he was doing this whilst at Guernsey or whether it's something he's picked up whilst being coached in the U23s.

    Stunning player.

    Great post

Big apology to Kal as after the move to midfield in the Swans game, I commented on here that in no way was he a midfielder as too slow to play there. Yet again, I prove that I know nothing about football as been excellent there.

It sems like a few of us are eating a bit of humble pie today

It’s is character, and what he demands from others, which is as important as his ability. He makes 3/4 of the players around him much better, and that’s invaluable

    Good comment that mate

  7. A bit of credit where its due.

While all our young uns are getting the praise they rightfully deserve. let's take a moment to think about what the impact Kal Naismith has had on the team in recent weeks since he was pushed into his midfield role.

In my opinion this move from Nige has been the reason for our recent upturn in performances and long may it continue.

Well done Kal and sorry for slagging you off when you were playing centre back!

  8. He was certainly at his most miserable best on the radio Bristol interview after the game. I always look forward to listening to what he has to say about the game when I'm driving home,  but sometimes like yesterday he just doesn't want to play.

By the way I am a Pearson fan before anyone starts.

  9. Last season I went to the Everton v Chelsea fixture at goodison with a friend who's been a season ticket holder for years. Admittedly the whole ground was up for it that day and the atmosphere was incredible but the one thing that stands out is how volatile they are infact I remember thinking this is like a powder keg just waiting to explode. There's one thing for sure there's definitely no friendly welcome for away fans., it's a nasty place in a horrible area.

  10. Season ticket holder in B block for years so here goes.

Well done to all in A block today its just what we needed and actually could turn us around.

It helped to make a good atmosphere  and I'm sure lift the players, im sorry if this interference affected your ability to sleep during the game but we needed something like this to happen.

    Up the City

Missed pre-season, made few starts before the World Cup and little time on th pitch in Qatar. Give the lad a break, he needs playing time.

Not sure about your last sentence,  I see a young lad who at the moment makes more of an impact when he comes on for the last 20 mins.

Very little mention of his performance tonight on the MDT.

Bar a couple of mis-times headers early doors, he played really well.

Positionally he played as the central man tonight.  Why?  He has played there before (Fulham home 1-1 v Mitrovic one occasion).  For me, it’s because had he played him LCB3, Millwall would launch everything right / right of centre where Vyner and Naismith would be less adept in the air.

Playing him central meant he would be able to cover both Vyner (R) and Naismith (L) without needing to be too far out of the middle.  It meant Millwall couldn’t just go straight down the middle.

This is not dissimilar to Flint with less adept CBs aerially in Ayling and Williams in 14/15.  Some Lg1 teams want to bomb down the middle, but Flint ruled that out.

Well done Rob, little bit of credit to Nige too ?
