I know Kev, was always going to be like this wasn’t it. People comparing LM first game after three days, to NP second half of his stint with us, totally different parameters and logic. Patience is needed I think.

Nige got back to form, after leaving him on the bench to rot while making us put up with Chris Martin. Think Wells worked his way back in to the team on his own merit, and professionally went about it. If I’m not mistaken, Wells started getting his minutes ramped up once Euell came onto the coaching staff. Thanks Jas.

I think you can be a lone striker with conways play style, if you have the right team around you. You don’t necessarily need a strike partner, but if you’re in a possession heavy team with chance creators in there it would work fine. Sadly we lack any cutting edge in the final 3rd. Nahki with his effort and experience, and his obvious skill set, works well up top on his own.

All this “ when we played them they were top half” or “we played them in the first month of the season” doesn’t matter. the championship is known for having a handful of teams you know are going to be up there and the rest of bar another 2-3 are scrapping it out for a mere chance of playoff hopes. having been to most games in the last 3 years, we’ve been competitive in most. Yeah yesterday was bad, but not even in the discussion for the worst. Let’s stop overreacting for the sake of it.

I think when he says play without the ball, he means the pressing pattern and the certain triggers when to press. Probably a lot more complicated stuff, too much detail for us to worry about on here. Maybe he thinks that’s the easiest message to get across in the short time frame and he had before the game. Dont think he meant sitting back and parking the bus behind the ball and hit them on the counter. These next two weeks I’m guessing he’ll work them hard on possession and patterns of play. May take weeks or months to finally getting them to play the way he wants. I for one will judge him when the times right, not a day or week(s) after arriving in Bristol.

Can’t we just ignore them? Not react to them and not reply to them? Or is this what people do to kill a bit of time, smoke their cigar like columbo and put in some detective work.

I made no mention of you liking or not liking Pearson. Not everything has to be “one versus the other.” I said if the players liked Pearson then that doesn’t mean they won’t respect and commit for LM. When you come onto a match thread mentioning lack of authentic leadership and effort, I think most people would assume that you are talking about the match that the match thread is the subject of. He said in his interview all they’ve done in training this week is play without the ball. Weimann though I agree hasn’t been up to standard, can run all day and most likely LM just wanted to see if he could get the team working without the ball. Now if he starts against boro then I’ll be questioning it

@Cowshed I understand what you said no matter how many “big words” you tried to use and repeat yourself. I didn’t say they had no leadership and lacked effort today. You’re saying if they haven’t got a leader it will be hard for them to put in effort. I thought as bad as the performance was today the effort was definitely there. I was just commenting on someone’s post about them lacking effort because potentially the change in manager. And I said the players seem like a good group and will try their best for the new manager. Just because they may have liked playing under NP and disagree with his departure. Thankfully footballers understand that it doesn’t matter and on to the next so to speak. edit: forgot the quote

Or how about this. Today was just one of those days that didn’t go our way or to plan. Next game might be a better performance and more effort shown. Hence he would be showing authentic leadership as well. let’s give it more than a few days yeah mate?

@bexhill reds Did you not read what I typed? It’s not my pov but from a new manager for 2 training sessions. He isn’t going to go off of form too much, more so look at the last starting lineup and what he sees in the two training sessions.

If you’re expecting shots on goal you clearly haven’t been paying attention to our games this season And what do you expect, a member of the higher ups to come out publicly slag the players off. Sure that would do wonders for performance.

If that’s true then these players aren’t the good bunch of lads NP and CF preached about. They’re gonna be professional about this whole thing and do their best for LM I have no doubt.
