  1. We really need to sort our shape out and defend crosses better if we're going to do that
  2. We need to just get our foot on the ball and calm it down for a minute or two and build from that. Struggling to get into this at the moment
  3. Nervy defending the corner, Max scoops off the line although there was cover
  4. Geoff 20man and Gary Owers having a thing at Manor Farm next month
  5. Waiting for a condensed version from @BigTone
  6. Not quite that but in this game I'm pretty sure there was another angle at the time that showed the goalscorer coming out of the crowd before he got sent off. Even then he ran the length of the pitch, plus the areas behind it, cleared a bunch of advertising for the celebration and got sent off for his troubles! Absolutely superb goal though, happens around 1:55:20
  7. I think I get what you're saying, I was just making a point about D&Ms reasoning being off. The extrapolation is never going to be perfectly linear, purely because of how points are gained, but also factors like clubs in the playoff race being more likely to bolster their squads to a greater degree etc and some of these various factors would be in our favour (getting a player back who had been out all the season so far in McRorie) and others against us. The result that has transpired is that we've fallen away from the playoffs at roughly the same rate as we had under NP's games this season. A close enough rate as to being virtually negligible because of the way points work in football and how a handful of wins can skew things. I know I'm one who has tended to defend Manning, but tonights posts were purely on the reasoning/maths. Yes, I've said we're marginally ahead of the extrapolated amount from when NP was fired, but that was simply a case of saying what the numbers said rather than making a point about manager performance. We're also ever so slightly behind from when LM was appointed.
  8. What I responded to was someone saying we were 4 points off the playoffs when NP was sacked (it was 5, but I think that was a genuine mistake, so not holding it against the poster), with the insinuation that anything more than 4 points off at the end of the season would represent us getting worse. That's just not how maths works when you increase the data set.
  9. Thing is, Everton fans will cry about this coming in and not realise that it is (in part) a response to their constant crying about them getting a points deduction. Their already massive victim complex will go into overdrive.
  10. Why do you keep crediting NP with the CF game? The first mention of this was with regard to when NP left, but you keep shoehorning in the CF game. You've been called out on this with other stats too. Yes, our PPG is a bit down, don't you keep harping about how the Ipswich one is down from their early start, how many points are they down? You keep changing to whatever is most convenient to you at the time, whereas my post was correcting a very flawed bit of logic and maths and nothing more.
  11. This makes no sense to anyone with even a basic idea of how numbers work. 5 points off after 14? At that rate of dropping points to 6th position, you would expect us to be 14-15 points behind after 40 games. So we're actually up if you want to look at it that way.
  12. Well, no. But that doesn't actually mean we regressed. Crazy thing, but the league table is tighter with less games played, at the start of August we were 0 points off top! NP was sacked after what, 14 games? So we dropped 4 points off 6th in 14 games, that's 0.28/0.29 (rounded) per game.* After 46 games that rate would see us 13.1 points behind.* So if we're more than 13-14 points off 6th at the end of the season* (and we could well be) you might have an argument to make about that. But even just doing it in a bare bones look like that is fairly simplistic, just far more honest and accurate than the "we were 4 points off, we won't be when the season ends" you presented. *Adjust for however many games NP had if it wasn't 14 and then the ratio from the new number.
  13. You wanted Frank ******* Lampard in. But now you want the best for Bristol City? Reconcile those!
  14. Or half take it off Arms out the sleeves, pull the top up so it's only around your neck Just don't cover your face with it and don't remove it fully and you haven't technically broken the rules as they're written.
  15. There's nothing to suggest Twine has any of the (well documented) attitude issues Tomlin had been showing long before he joined us.
  16. Yeah, I'm gonna leave WSMFlyingRat alone for tonight now. This thread should be celebrating the youth side and their efforts this season. Apologies all for the derailing.
  17. Funny, I seem to remember you saying you put me on ignore because I said you were being "unreasonable" In doing so proving the point I was making.
  18. What hiatus? I haven't gone anywhere Sometimes I post less often because I find the extreme negativity on here incredibly draining. But I'm still around- not that I post prolifically anyway. It tends to just be flurries here and there. I also don't just block people because they disagree with me, bit 1984ish there Seagull. I know how the ignore function works, but it's a bit pointless if you choose to *ahem* ignore it's functionality regardless. Good company to be in (not like that!)
  19. He says while not ignoring me You couldn't make it up.
  20. Good effort and not a lot more that could have been expected considering the injury crisis that happened. Man City were heavy favourites and we gave them a game.
  21. This might be the longest case of déjà vu, because I'm sure I've heard that before, just not for quite a while
  22. Think he should have taken the shot instead of trying to return the pass Good break though.
  23. You couldn't debate a wet paper bag. When people mention something you can't respond to you just ignore the point.
