  1. If Manning gets sacked then who deputises whilst we recruit a new Manager?   Hogg doesn't seem like the type who would step up or be capable of getting us out of this mess.  We would therefore probably need someone immediately on a short term basis to save us from relegation. Big Sam?  Warnock?  Brian Tinnion?

  2. Looking back at Tinnion's "see you in the premiership" tweet, it makes you wonder whether he genuinely believes we are a top 6 squad.  Insane to think both Pearson and Manning could end up being sacked because of it.

Talking to a couple of Ipswich fans in the hotel bar this evening.

Just some context, in terms of their judgement: we asked what they thought of Mark Ashton: “t w a t”.

Then, can we have Wes Burns back. “Only if we can have Liam Manning back when McKenna gets poached”

Really? Yes: “you’ve got a top coach, one of the best……give him til this time next season and you’ll be glad you did…….best organised side here this season”

    Just saying.

I was also told the same thing when i bumped into Pep Guardiola at Lidl

Did he mention emotion, principles and/or behaviours? How about time on the grass?

Time on the grass is slowly being replaced by his new favourite....... Emotions!

Late to the party this week. But that certainly made my Sunday evening entertaining!

Every week I find myself having to go back and listen again at what Ian has said so this week I kept some notes as I was listening.

    In summary -

    - Better performance than QPR and Sheff Wed

    - Had enough of the ball, enough crosses, won our duels but end product lacked, dominated the game.

    - Down played the increased training time

    - Blamed the players

    - "If its that bad and it's affecting your mental health then my advice is to don't go"

    - you won't get a better tune out of this squad

    - Pearson couldn't get a tune out of this squad

    - Manning is not out of his depth

    - when not talking doesn't pay attention to others talking.

    - NP didn't sort out the financial mess (in comments)

    - had a go at Dave for Dave having an opinion and called it a conspiracy theory. Ian got enraged at a suggestion that maybe the players don't listen to Manning based on his inexperience.

    - tried to absolve Manning of any blame by saying "it's been like this for years, even going back to Tinnion as manager"

    - when asked whos fault it was for signings he refused to blame Tinnion and instead blamed Pearson.

    - tried to defend Tinnion when he said "Pearson was asked if he wanted another cb and he said no" no mention of the fact he was only offered out of contract players. Tried to insinuate that if RD or ZV gets injured then it's NP fault for not signing a CB.

    - Henry is probably Ian

    - insisted that Pearson was offered the opportunity to sign a striker.

    - described the Jan window as a good window (licking Tinnions arse)

    - when Tom mentioned how subs would make a difference under NP but not LM Ian said these players were all signed by Pearson.

    - Dave Fevs mentioned about Murphy being injured (which Manning said in his press conference) and Ian said "I think you've been fed a line if you believe that)

    - "I don't know, [long pause] I don't know whether some our fans want Manning to fail, infact I think a few of them do, a huge number, but I think there's a few of them licking their lips and saying great you failed because Lansdown said this and that"

    - gets his face right in the camera lens and says he wouldn't sack Liam Manning (no doubt for BT benefit)

    - appears very wound up at the suggestion that people want him sacked.

    - says that some people say Manning is out of his depth but that people didn't think that 3 weeks ago.

    - didn't answer the question about what he would do about LM. Deliberately went around the houses to avoid answering it.
*comment of the day goes to scattered_dreams "Ian is a 🍆" the reaction from the lads was quality.

I forgot the bit where Ian mentioned not getting a tune out of the current squad. Thats exactly why Manning was appointed by BT & JL in the first place, but Ian conveniently forgets that!

The flare on the pitch was odd.

I was in the south stand S19 and saw the guy leaving early and throw it on the pitch as he was walking down the steps. Probably realised we were never going to score so used it out of frustration

  7. I noticed in the press conference after we beat Southampton, Manning made a quip about Vyner needing to score more goals like Dickie.  It struck me as an odd thing to say, especially considering our strikers have been so bad.

I might be reading too much into it, but if I was Vyner it would have p1ssed me off.

  8. The only person benefitting from this whole debacle is Tinnion. Since Pearson's sacking he's been elevated to "Tecknical" Director, touted as the next CEO and had this famous goal and win against Liverpool in the FA Cup commemorated in front of the fans at Ashton Gate.  He's a complete narcissist and his dark arts have lead to this moment.

No it’s not. With these owners the kitchen will always be on fire. What’s the point in changing the head chef?

They screwed up by sacking Pearson then appointed the wrong man. The next one will likely be wrong too. What’s the point in just restarting the cycle?

I'm sorry, but Manning doesn't get a free pass.    He took the job, despite knowing the unrealistic expectation of reaching the playoffs.  The recent results are on him.

  10. At one point today we passed the ball across the back for about 5 minutes until we eventually misplaced a pass and lost possession.  I really dont get it

Anticipate a battering here but I’ll post my thoughts anyway.

We should keep him. LM is going poorly - let’s have it right. We’ve lost to three teams with worse squads than us on the spin. Criticism is more than fair and us, as paying and long-suffering supporters, are qualified to give it.

    But.

    - These are not his players. They don’t suit his style. His one ‘big’ signing in his mould is injured (an ongoing issue here that long precedes LM). He will need the summer.

    - The same idiots still own the club. The next appointment will also struggle - they struggle at appointing managers.

    - He’s got over 3 years of contract left. So has his assistant. We’ve sorted our money issues, let’s not piss all that money away now.

    - This will be the least popular one. We showed some signs of progress today. We nicked the ball high on about 4 occasions, that’s our best avenue of attack and we saw signs of it. I actually think we were the better team today. They scored one set piece, and their keeper had a solid game. Today was better, albeit against a low bar.

We’re safe this season. Some will say we’re not but we are. 9 points AND 9 places clear. 6 more points from 11 games will do it.

The problems lie above his head, and until they’re gone, we will always fail at this level. No amount of chopping and changing managers will change that fact. And even if they do finally get it right and appoint a man to take us forward… we know they’ll sack him anyway.

    Is this a wind up?

Your last point is ridiculous.  Manning is tactically inept.

  12. Twine was never going to drag us into the playoffs I would have rather seen the money spent on bringing in more younger players like Stokes, Bird,  Murphy etc.  Mebude is worth the gamble, but BT & LM really should have managed fans expectations considering his lack of experience
