  1. I’ve stuck with Nigel up till now without in all honesty seeing any real improvement but last night was really really bad , there was no commitment from the players, we barley made a challenge, our defence we at sixes and seven.
Yes blame the players, the board , previous managers and CEO but at some stage the current manager must take responsibility for this shambles and the time is now .

His tenure is not working and I’m disappointed because I thought it was a good appointment but like Nigel have said in the  past we mustn’t ‘ bury our heads in the sands “and face up to the our problem.

Nigel is now a big problem, he has not improved results, style of football or the squad.   He is underperforming and after a year he has had long enough to implement is style and belief in the team and he simply have failed to deliver.

So thanks for you efforts Nigel but it time for him to go.

    Utter rubbish.

We were  only allowed back in pubs with no  table service and no social distancing in July that is nearly a year and a half from the start of lockdown.

Fans  were banned from stadiums from March 2020 to July 21 .

Scotland have today banned spectators from attending matches and it is doubtful that they will be back this season.

Nearly two years since restrictions were placed in us and we are about to have more restrictions and lockdowns so I am confused with  the utter rubbish comment.

What we do know and going on recent events that when the government says  that restrictions are only for a few weeks they never are .

Swansea away isn’t until 13th Feb.
If this rule is still in place by then I think there’ll be a helluva lot of pissed off people.

I expect Ashton Gate will be closed to fans for the rest of the season come the new year . If you cast your mind back to July many health officials and Labour was critical of the government for easing restrictions on freedom day , i suspect once you go into lockdowns it takes months and even years to come back out of them.

Assuming the outcome of ‘the project’ is to get City into the Premier League, just how much work needs to be done, money needs to be spent, to get us even challenging for the play offs.

Looking at the current side we probably have the very bare bones of a team that could compete at the top end of the table in the next few years. Atkinson, HNM, Kalas, maybe Bentley/Semenyo, already look like players who could fit into a team in that position. The rest, nope, thanks, move into squad players as we recruit or move on.

Pring, Tanner, Scott are players in the first team who could develop into those kind of players, we don’t know yet. There seem to be a few other promising young uns but those are the ones currently in the team.

Therefore we need minimum 7 new players to get us competing. And that’s making a massive assumption that we are able to keep those players above and Kalas/Bentley keep at current levels as they get older so it’s probably more. We would probably need to sell someone for big bucks to even think about affording that sort of rebuild.

I know Pearson has talked about this as a 3 year project, but I personally think that’s pie in the sky given the squad building required and the cost of this. Settle in for a few more years of mediocrity unless these academy lads turn out to be world beaters, because I don’t have faith in our recruitment. Feeling very pessimistic about City at the moment. I want it to work with NP but unless he is backed with significant funds or a top class recruitment team, of which we appear to have neither, then I fear the pressure for results will become too much and he won’t get the time/funds to see if he can see the project through.

A project is something you set out to achieve. Bristol City football have no interest or ambition to achieve the goal of Premier League football.
By claiming that Bristol City has a project to achieve Top flight football is frankly embarrassing it’s the equivalent of suggesting that Bristol Rovers has a project to play in the EPL , if the gas did claim to have such a project we would laugh at them and by saying we have a project the rest of the football world are laughing at us.

There is no project , the club gets giddy with the dizzy heights of the Championship , I suspect that those who runs the club would be happy to see us back in League One because the way the club has been run in the last few years I can only assume that is their aim.

Gas fixture has been moved from the Friday to Saturday 15:00. Same day we play Blackburn at home at the same time.

So when they have a pitiful attendance that day they can blame us,  which would make a change from blaming the ballon festival, or bike race on the downs or Tokyo World or Christmas shopping or the Rugby or a protest for world peace on the centre , have I missed any other excuses for their poor crowds.

Wrong person coming in - Will be revealed at 5pm

When you say wrong person coming, is that a new manager or new coach and by wrong person I take that you don’t approve of this appointment. A but cryptic but I will definitely be logging back in at 5 .

They are really the gift that just keeps on giving.

A Queen tribute band which was unscrupulously  promoted as the real Queen now postponed with only days to go .  Tinpot doesn’t even begin to cover this shambles.

It's time to realise that a major investment in new players would be suicidal given FFP and the current financial climate.

Plus the High performance centre probably cost a few bob...?

We need better players to compete in this league otherwise we are going to and have struggled to get results and performance.  The expectation of most fans and now it seems the club is just to survive in this division.
Where is Bristol City at the moment, I would say we are a poor Championship club.  I like Pearson but he can only do so much with the tools at his disposal.

Just had an advert to go and see Queen playing live at the Mem.  Couldn't believe it and then saw the tickets were only 20 quid.  You had to dig pretty deep to realise it was just a tribute band (the ticket price was a bit of a giveaway mind).  I wonder how many people they will manage to dupe with this scam). They can't put out a genuine football team let alone attract a proper band. Total amateurs in just about every way.

I just googled the gig and on some ticket sites it is not clear that it’s the cast from the West End musical.  I thought until I saw your post that is was Queen with Brian May etc.  A second rate concert in a third rate stadium , sure to be a sell out.

Apart from your manager, the only person at BCFC that I could name or recognise is Scott Murray.  When we haven't played each other for a fair number of years, there's no reason for either set of fans to be aware of who plays for the other team.  Whereas going back to the days of regular derby matches, I could still probably name around 75% of your players.

Last season or so we have been poor but over the last 5 years the profile of Bristol City and its players have never been higher since the 70s . To say you are in our shadow in an understatement. , you team is on the dark side of the moon in footballing terms.  I’ve worked around the country and if you weren’t a avid football fan you would not be aware that Bristol had two clubs .  Bristol Rovers is on par with Barnet , Wycombe, York City , that is your level.  The only similarity between Bristol City and Bristol Rovers is that we both have Bristol in our name.

This bloke is clearly deluded. I’ve heard the name but couldn’t pick him out in a line up.  Everything about this interview is Micky mouse.

  13. I watched a woman’s game on the tele yesterday, Chelsea v Birmingham. Not particularly entertaining I couldn't put me finger on it first but then after 30 mins I realised there haven’t been one tackle.  It was like watching a training game , some very nice touches, ball retention was good but there was no aggression, no bite and no edge to the game.
How many times you’ve been watching a game and it’s boring and then some one puts a crunching tackle in and it really gets everyone going.
I would like to see the woman get in the opponents faces , it’s all to nice .

There is no reason, it was a hypothetical question, and Lansdown would be acting purely out of a desire to reunite people.

True, but like I said, it was purely hypothetical.

Yes I understand what you are saying but I just see in any circumstance this would happen.

IF, and although this is obviously hypothetical it suddenly doesn't seem so far fetched, football & society  is devastated by this virus, with thousands of deaths and dozens of clubs  Rovers being one of them, go to the wall. If then City survive and the league is reformed into a much smaller number of clubs, what would you think if Lansdown announced a proposal to merge the clubs, call them Bristol United , play in red and blue etc, and he is doing it purely as a gesture to bring people together after a catastrophic period of history, what would you think?

I'm not trying to be flippant about the current awful situation and I really don't think the outcome will be as bad as the picture I have painted, but I am really interested in genuine answers.

There has been a lot of talk that this virus could bring everyone together and that we will all learn a lesson from this in many other areas of life, but would this be a step too far for you?

If and its a big If  , if Rovers did go bust and City survived , couldn't see any reason why the two clubs would merge , how could you merge with something they don't exist.  Why we would change are name etc , fantasy to think that would happen.
