  1. Maybe they're objecting to the cashless stadium concept. I haven't had any change for years.
  2. If my memory serves we also lost McCombe not long before the game, which I think made a difference. All in all thought we were slightly the better side and were unlucky to lose.
  3. Fair enough he did. Wasn't thinking about the Rovers bit as I couldn't care less what they do (even though they still live in many peoples' heads on here for some odd reason). Now you remind me, yes its possible if unlikely. We can obviously go down given where we are. They could sneak into the last playoff spot and get lucky.
  4. We are 3 points away from 23rd, so of course it can happen. Defense a mess, centre halves injured or out of favour, young players possibly going in January, financial position near to points deduction, leadership in the board room gone to pot. Of course it can happen.
  5. Yup, channelling his inner Jerzy Dudek I think.
  6. Well yes, England could and should have done better. Too much passing it slowly around the back to no effect, iffy defence, not making the most of their chances. Sound like another team we know?
  7. ... and then there's always the Trumdle solution. (How does he do this?)
  8. Sounds good If that rule had been in place when JET was taking penalties for us then the keeper would have got there first. Easily.
  9. Very sad news. The only player to have won three World Cup medals and one of the greatest ever.
  10. I have to pick.my daughter up from Temple Meads a bit later. Surprised to find that the train station is in the zone (as is tbe bus station). Not so much as about encouraging public transport use as a council revenue raising exercise.
  11. Don't know whereabouts you are but would highly recommend CFS in Warmley.
  12. They look easily the best team to me and can't see how we beat them, but then it's a one-off game so you never know. Get past them and we have a great chance.
  13. The old Soviet Union and Yugoslavia no longer exist. The UK (not GB) components are not countries according to the UN, don't have their own governments or leaders. Each is as much a country as Catalonia. I.e. Not.
  14. If we win the group and then beat Senegal our reward will most likely be.a quarter final against France. Very mixed feelings about what I want from tonight...
  15. Never understood it myself either, but then that goes for much of fan humour and culture for me. BTW, shouldn't let this go without congratulating you on the quickest demonstration of Godwin's Law I have ever seen. No messing about straight in with the H bomb. Brilliant!
  16. Very well deserved for Iran. Cardiff fans still doing the ayatollah?
  17. No doubt the money folk will be able to increase revenue in ad breaks and stoppages. Lovely jubbly....
  18. All true, but then we battery Sheffield United and got nothing. Swings and roundabouts...
  19. There was also one facing tbe Dolman.
  20. Quite right. England doesn't even have its own government, doesn't have a recognised leader. The other three have devolved governments that are little more than jumped up county councils with leaders to match. We would be stonger together if we ever put differences aside and embarked on major change but sadly that won't happen. Unfortunately I believe that the UK will split in time.
  21. Depends on how you want to define it. None of those 4 are countries according the UN. Wales is no more a country that Catalonia (neither is England, btw).
  22. Crikey, is this still going on? I reckon the OP is talking about Bruce Grobelaar and the betting/match fixing episode. I expect you all know this and that I'm just about to get the biggest 'whoosh' of my life. OK, Louie - right or wrong?
  23. Agree with most of all that - he looks like a very good buy. Btw, even Bradley Orr wasn't Bradley Orr standard when he arrived - he was a very ordinary midfield player in and out of the team. GJ moved him to right back and we all saw him develop. Sykes has had a big move up and I expect that he'll improve no end given time and coaching - some very optimistic signs though.
  24. I've posted this before but I remember the cross coming in, which was slightly over hit. Peacock back pedalling and somehow getting his head to the ball and heading back across the goal. It bounced once and sat up for Miller to plant his forehead onto it. I saw him head it, the ball head for the left hand post and Miller's expression change as the ball hit the post and bounce to safety. Miller and Peacock on the floor with disappointment. Ref blew time. It happened in slow motion right in front of me, I won't ever forget it and I don't want to see the bl**dy video.
