  1. Agree, both the flaky and short crust are lush. In order to get the full pre match experience when I watch away games on RTV I always make sure I have a Clarks pasty in the house to eat before ko ( +)There's a map on their website that shows your nearest stockist. Mine is 8 miles away (Olveston Village Stores) but worth the drive!
  2. Thank God for that.......have you seen the price of beer in Luxembourg?
  3. Not sure you can get BBC Radio Solent in Cornwall or Devon either!
  4. 4-2-3-1 ? according to the way the team is written. James and TGH holding, Sykes Knight Bell with TC as the 1 up front
  5. I like the old school grounds, in the town/city pubs nearby etc, favourites include Griffin Park, Fulham, Saltergate, Baseball, Grounds I hate Ricoh, WBA, Home Pk - soleless. St. Andrews - crap ground, crap area, crap pubs. Upton Park - first went late 60's for the cup game as a 13 year old schoolboy with 2 friends and we got jumped on and whacked by a dozen big brave men outside the tube station. I've disliked Hammers and their scumbag fans ever since!
  6. Back one day and has managed to get Gary Johnson into a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with him. The fire still burns
  7. Agree, "Good to get 2 weeks of training working with the lads and put our ideas across. Boys very willing to listen and work hard. Good group. Early days, Still getting to know the boys and the staff. Will take a few games for our work to come through. Always learning in this job. Too early to decide what we will do in January. Superb facilities at HPC. Great to have the Academy players on same site and see the quality coming through. The Lansdowns have done a great job"
  8. TBF you can understand why both the Lansdowns choose to live offshore.
  9. Yes Swansea, other than a roof over the North Bank terrace and that funny looking new stand that only went halfway across one end behind the goal there was very little development over the years.
  10. 13 out of 15, the 2 overseas grounds Schalke and the Calderon stumped me! slight guess on Ninian Park as I don't ever remember it being open terrace like that picture but the shirts helped and by elimination it couldn't be the others. Here's another old lost ground, picture taken in 1929 and it staged league football until 2005 (redeveloped obviously) when the club moved to a new stadium. which club?
  11. lets hope Steve and Jon weren't listening this morning then! LM's definitely giving off a bit of a SOD vibe whenever I hear him speak.
  12. Yes, April 2021 so no spectators.
  13. Thinking about this, has there been the opportunity to watch City play the same club at more than 4 grounds, Coventry have played at Highfield Road, Northampton , Birmingham, and the Ricoh (or whatever it's called now) and as these moves were fairly recent City fans may well have seen City at all 4 playing Coventry (I've only seen 3). Similarly Brighton have played City at The Goldstone, Priestfield Gillingham, Withdean, Amex. I can't think of a club we've played at 5 grounds. Edit: I checked and Coventry also played just 1 EFL cup match at Burton's Pirelli Stadium due to an unsafe pitch....against Bristol City. I'd forgotten that. So someone may indeed have covered all 5 venues.
  14. I've been to 43 grounds, 8 of which are no longer in use ( Highbury, Somerton Park, Upton PK , etc, etc) so less than half of the 92. Hats off to those who have done them all. I've only been to 1 ground/match where City weren't playing - White Hart Lane.
  15. Wa To be fair Tomlin was the first thing that came to mind watching that vid ........ although this guy's definitely a bit slimmer than Lee!
  16. Had to check but he was only handed 4 starts by LJ , I get some signings don't work out but he didn't seem to get many chances.....having said that he didn't look any way near the player we're seeing play for Blackburn. He seemed to be a victim of the clubs in the bag policy as we just had too many clubs and LJ only too willing to chop and change them every week .
  17. Do you need to stay in Wigan? How about a hotel convenient to Ewood PK, then get a train to work from Blackburn to Wigan in the morning when trains are more plentiful. ie there is a train leaving B'burn at 7.23 getting to Wigan at 8.13 change Preston. Or stay in Preston - bus/train to Blackburn & back for the match - easy direct train to Wigan in the morning.
  18. As I replied to the Major, Ray Harford not Mick Harford
  19. It was Ray Harford that John Ward wanted. Edit, autocorrect!
  20. It did indeed..The Robins Cafe...I first started going to AG in 1967 - age 13- and we used to call in the cafe and get a chocolate bar before the game. On non match days the players used to go in there for a cup of tea etc.
