I suppose the present club don't want to dwell on an episode that was before their reign and doesn't read well now in that the players were shafted from all sides . They didn't have much of a choice as the old club (their employers) were going bust anyway and the new regime made it clear they couldn't afford to take over their contracts. The 8 did what they had to do to smooth it through and ensure we continued but as I say they didn't have much of a choice. Different world now and I see the millionaire Sol Campbell backed a winding up order (he's owed £180K in wages along with many other creditors) presented to the High Court that would see the demise of Macclesfield.

In all these cases the truth comes from the fans, a cross section of people from all walks o f life who are bound by one truth- a love of their own club and a desire for it's best interests above any self interest ( as in every club's fan base) To a man and woman they all blame and want the odious chancer and fraud Steve Dale removed from their club. The EFL should listen to and act in the best interests of those fans. Allowing Dale anywhere near a football club is a disgraceful act that shames our game.

I think the problem is that the owner says h e is willing to sell...but he wants any new owner to pay all the debts, settle all the bills including all creditors, HMRC, back wages and "compensate' him for all the money he's put in during his ownership. IE he wants to walk away having not lost anything. If you buy a loss making L2 club. I don't think you can expect your ownership to cost you nothing - who does he think he is ....Wael Al Quadi ?

Everyone is rushing to blame the club's but Cardiff probably have insurance.....any insurer will need a death certificate before payment ( as yet no body. no certificate) so they're waiting but equally the transfer went through ( to the satisfaction of football authorities) so if the contract stated a % was due up front then Cardiff should pay and await the insurance payment to cover it. Obviously very sad where a fatality is concerned but Cardiff seem to be the one's who should bite the bullet and honour the deal.....IMO

This 100%, however the Gas have spun this saying it's "The Gates" which are the memorial and they'll take them to any new stadium....If they would take the trouble to read the inscription it does say.......This GROUND is a memorial to those Bristol Rugby players who gave their lives in the Great War ( and was later u updated to inc WW2.
