  1. that would be my "top 5" as well. Based on the teams/squad Nige has selected - and the subs made - when these players have been fit and available. Three of them signed for relatively high fees by Championship standards. Bakinson was only £500K though I think.
  2. The park and ride is great...for getting to the ground. Getting home is not so good. I used to use the Portway P&R regularly and I found that unless you got on the bus or buses already waiting at the stop (by the Robins pub) then you had a wait of maybe 50 minutes while the buses fight through the traffic on Winterstoke Rd and then run down to the P&R site and return. To get on the buses waiting at the stop meant leaving at least 5 minutes before the end of the match, the final straw was after a night game where we waited in the pouring rain for nearly an hour and it was so cold and wet an elderly gentleman waiting collapsed and an ambulance had to be called. When the bus finally came it pulled up with the door by the back of the queue and those at the back piled on leaving those at the front who had waited the longest to wait even longer for another bus. I haven't used it since.
  3. Can you let me know by PM please Thanks A. Jobsworth Parking Enforcement Dept Bristol City Council
  4. Despite late interest from Bristol City Steven Gerard has opted to join Aston Villa. " I'm flattered by the interest shown by City, a tough decision but the lure of the PL just tipped it in Villa's favour"
  5. He joins at the end of the season so will be part of next season's budget. There's a wage bill cap (without looking it up £7M I think) in Rugby and over that they are allowed 2 marquis players (presumably Radrandra and Piatau). I think AJ's contract was expiring at Sale (he's 31) and presumably Bristol offered more wages. It all has to fit into the salary cap# so I would expect a few Bears to be leaving as well. # Saracens paid some players in excess of the cap by means of "investing " in businesses set up for the players by their then owner and got relegated for it....so I doubt Bristol would be doing anything untoward.
  6. Just listened to Gould on RB, deeply unimpressive. On Nige - no real idea if or when he's coming back, just we hope yada yada. Pressed on January - we would like to bring in targets but has to be value etc , difficult window etc, translation = we ain't spending any money. The whole 20 minute phone interview was unimpressive, lots of we'd like to's and we hope to's but no firm plans to change or do anything other than work hard and hope we turn the corner He did rule out Shakespeare though. ( Presumably on cost) So the plan for the season is hope Nige gets better and turns it around with the existing players..... That hasn't worked so far! Overall - unimpressed with RG. Lansdown still making all the decisions. Jon CGAF. Nige out for the foreseeable. L1 beckons

You jest ? but that wouldn't actually surprise me. "Lee has unfinished business here, he was hampered by recruitment team before, learned a lot at Sunderland, he comes back a better manager" said Steve Lansdown. "I'll be giving him my "full" backing" " Now we can leave everything to Lee while the board get on with important business matters" Said Chairman Jon Lansdown talking from his sunbed in Bermuda.
  9. Back in 1974 I had a mate who lived in a bedsit on Ambra Vale East.... absolutely disgusting hovel, 4 bedsits sharing a bathroom in the cellar. He said an old Irish couple in their 60's lived in the room next door and in 2 years he never saw or heard them visit the bathroom! ( He reckoned they used a bucket and washed it down the sink !!!
  10. The majority of fans on social media are absolute belters
  11. Watching the BBC sports news this morning they did the usual FA Cup round 1 focus on a non League player who has an unglamorous day job and is thrust into the limelight on FA cup day and it was our old player De Girolamo now working as a floor tiler and playing p/t for Buxton Town. I don't think he actually made a first team appearance for us though, a player released by Sheff Utd and picked up by us through Pembo's Sheffield connections I believe.
  12. We released him nearly 3 years ago, went to FGR then released by them last season. Only just joined Colchester.
  13. Jasper on loan from Fulham
  14. Will Harry Potter be in the stand on his own then with the laptop?
  15. How many shite managers has he appointed ?
  16. It's who you know! When you said home end I thought you were going to to slum it on the Tilton Rd stand. Apparently not! Enjoy!
  17. Great Match day starter but to write about Birmingham and not include mention of the Balti ???? Like Bristol without cider!
  18. Up to 5 years according to the Guardian.
