Indeed, JB elected to go to the Crown Court for trial by jury. Anyone unable to afford an expensive brief probably gets dealt with in the magistrates court represented by the Duty Solicitor and would be waking up tomorrow to a porridge breakfast and a very sore ass!

No they hadn't been discovered yet!! Players managed 3 games a week without needing to be rotated, or rested, they also managed without sports scientists, nutritionists, psychologists, ice baths, crypto chambers, agents, lawyers, drones, grass measuring equipment, video analysis, and the high press. Surprising despite all that they were actually quite good footballers and the matches were, by and large, entertaining. Still that's progress for you.

Got to be Dean Holden surely? A 6 week rigorous process indicated he was the best candidate outside the PL less than 1 year ago....so what's changed......his thorough and rigorous world class process will lead to the same answer. Welcome Dean the best human.

Well, according to Wayne Rooney there's no chance of liquidation !! This club will exist. This club will grow," Derby boss Rooney said. "I've seen the headlines in the papers the last couple of days and that's news to me. I don't think there's even an option of the club going into liquidation. "I know some of the staff, when they read that, get worried, but from my point of view there's quite a few buyers who are very interested in the club. "It's not through lack of people wanting to come in and take over the club, it's purely just getting it done, getting it over the line and there are details that need sorting out before that can happen." Just a matter of details then, nothing to see move on .

You old romantic Major ,- the player will be steered by his agent towards the club offering the most money both to the said player and of course to the agent himself.

Exactly, the UWE all over again. Wally pulled out because they wouldn't own any or part of the UWE stadium, only rent it, and UWE were taking a hefty % of associated income ( car parking, food, bars, etc) This is exactly the same deal - the developer takes their ground. The developer is building a huge infrastructure of retail and hospitality on the fruit market site - do the sags seriously think the developer (their landlord) is going to hand them a slice of that revenue? And they lap it up ...again

Yes, that's true but from Barnsley employee.... would he be considered independent? Or just backing up his boss? I don't know how that is viewed by the court.

Tomorrow the prosecution will unveil their star witness .. Wael Al Quadi " Yes I saw everything Barton deliberately shoved him, 100% certain, I was going to the dressing room to wish the lads well and saw everything. I swear it on the Qur'an." Afterwards Wally rings his lawyer " It went great, he's gone down, we can now fire him with no compensation!"

Forest Green have had a player sent off. Should guarantee a win as Gas lost to 9 men last time out.

Fairly sure he was discovered (along with his brother Shane) by one Steve Cotterill whilst they were both playing for Cirencester Town while Cotts was Cheltenham manager. Both played for Cheltenham and Cotts took Mike to Burnley. Not sure about Shane. Cotts - Always a good judge of a player,

Hard to see why it's scheduled to take all week, Stendel said he was pushed, Barton said he didn't push him. No footage or independent witnesses. Barton's previous won't be known to the jury. Unless I'm missing something it's hard to see a jury convicting him or why the CPS are proceeding. Much as I'd love to see the gashead banged up I do expect him to walk free - on both trials with his WAG not testifying against him on the second trial.

That's right, I have Sky sports and it's definitely now showing on the Sky Guide as a red button option to the Livingston v Rangers game. Saves the £10 rtv payment. Happy Days! -
Which City player that you saw had the earliest City debut?
CodeRed replied to Eddie Hitler's topic in Football Chat
Yes, you're right it was a swap. Thanks just the players I remember playing most often,....Ray Savino also played a few games and possibly a very young Gerry Sharpe ( although that may have been as season later). Certainly Chris Crowe and Hugh McIlmoyle arrived later that season as well. 2 great signings. -
The fish and chips are epic though - best in England.

Probably because he wasn't playing!...........Atyeo retired at the end of the 1965/66 season -

I started going in 1966/67*so the season after Big John retired unfortunately so the earliest would be Alec Briggs and Gordon Parr who both debuted in 1957. Of course many on OTIB with have seen John Atyeo play who made his debut in 1951/52 season. * the memory is hazy after 55 years but the team that year was mostly: Gibson Ford Briggs Parr Connor Low Derrick Clark Bush Quigley Peters
