Not strengthening in the January window during the Gary Johnson P/O final season. 3. Being too quick to fire Cotts, basically because MA had convinced SL that he was the answer. Cotts didn't help himself after the summer transfer window problems.....but if no MA in the background then Cotts gets more time (like LJ and Nige who have both enjoyed SL's support in hard times) and money IMV.

As I remember Cotts did his usual Thursday pre match press conference and it was then announced later that evening that Cotts was sacked. 36 hours later on the Saturday morning Ashton was announced as COO. Pretty clear what happened...Cotts refused to work under the new COO waiting in the wings and SL chose Ashton over Cotts. With regard to LJ Ashton initially took credit (on 20man) for LJ's appointment but as soon as the losing streaks started I recall he referred to LJ on RB as " Steve's appointment"

it's wages to turnover....wages probably competitive but not excessive but I'd say their turnover is was of the lowest in the Championship - Griffin Park = small ground, no off field income, limited hospitality, some rent from their rugby tennants but little else visible on my visits. All changed now of course..

Everyone assuming any windfall from the sale of Kelly goes straight to NP for new players? We are about to post record losses so won't the playing budgets remain as is and this unexpected windfall (if it happens) will just go towards offsetting some of the losses? That would be my guess
