Do we have some Rivarly with Plymouth ? We didn't face them too much lately but if I reckon it is a kind of a derby when we play then, right ?

Used to be pretty tasty in the late 2000s but it faded away whilst we didn't play them for so long

It’s always amusing when a City ‘fan’, who is glued to their armchair, decides to slag off the gas attendances - yep their crowd figures are low, but at least those guys and gals get out there and support their team. I suppose that’s better than prowling this forum non stop whilst never bothering to actually go out and support your team ...

You know we weren't playing tonight yeah?

    I love the Analyst website.

    https://theanalyst.com/eu/2023/08/championship-stats-2023-24-opta/

some really simple stats that when combined give a really good indicator of team style and effectiveness.

this one is really simplistic, but if you were asked who most possession based teams were, or who the most direct were I don’t think too many people would look beyond the likes of Saints, Leicester and Hull at one end and Rotherham, Birmingham, Millwall at the other.  I’d say Ipswich and Leeds are “front foot, attacking” teams, and they are in that top-right quadrant.

The latest example of ‘gas logic’ and obscure stats. A dangerous mix.

Apparently according to this ‘club legend’ you can measure good, better best by the biggest lowest attendance. Yes that’s correct. The biggest lowest attendance!
So, whilst referencing a nickname that in their heads means we are a 44 year old club, then goes on to show they are much better than us on ‘biggest lowest attendance’ for large swathes of a time that we apparently didn’t exist. However when we did exist then it would seem that we even beat them on this remarkable stat. I think the last straw may have been clutched.

    Just for reference.
Bcfc1982ltd sports dept. Have only had 1 season that bettered our 1954 best lowest gate.
Our 8078 lowest gate season was also better than 22 of 'their' seasons since 1961.
To be fair i have to admit their lowest gate figures since 2016 have been pretty good.

I also have no idea what this means! Are they saying their lowest average attendance ever is 8,078? That is obviously wrong as they averaged only 5k 15 years ago and plenty of occasions 6k since then. I think what he might be saying is that in 1954 their lowest gate that season was 19,638 and our lowest gate each season is often less than that?

    https://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/brir.htm

BUT WHERE DID THEY ALL GO??????

They have literally played professional, competitive games in cup competitions in recent history with LESS THAN 1,000 fans there ffs!

  5. Out come the Bristol City are little brigade yet again

I'm not having any of it

Being the biggest historical underachievers in the country is no reason at all to continue to be the biggest underachievers.

We have a modern stadium, a decent upper Champ level training ground, fantastic crowds given our underachievement that are usually top third in this division, play in a great and rich city.

There is NO reason whatsoever to see lower midtable Champ as the best it can get for us. We should never be in danger of relegation from this league.

Anything other than play off pushes is again, underachievement.

You wouldn't see this nonsense of sub par expectations at other clubs with far less fans.

  6. Not in any way suggesting Cornick is the answer but I don't think we've ever really seen him and Conway on the same pitch together , certainly not in more central positions.

Something I would like to see as Wells cannot play every game

About McAllister, if they can't stand the thought of even mentioning Bristol City, they must be fuming at having it on the match day shirt sleeves.

I doubt Jamie is too impressed at having 6 seasons of his career air brushed out of a press release.

6? Try 10, four years as a coach

Almost a quarter of the blokes life he has been employed by us 🤣

  8. FFP and parachute payments are the biggest load of horse manure ever

Low cost base clubs like Coventry can go crazy, take the risk. It comes off then suddenly then are into the parachute yo yo club top 26 clubs in the country. It doesn't come off and they are in the mire like we have been and possibly back in L1 or lower. The differing outcomes are really only the toss of a coin, one goal here and there, to change the course of a clubs history over a long long period of at least 10 years.

Tinnion imo...confuses success by creating good players, rather than a good team.

These players either come from the pathway he created from the Academy, which he uses to attract young players to sign for us. Then shows them that if they do well, they can use us as a stepping stone to get bigger contracts at better clubs.

He's created this, the media and those in football talk about it.

We are seen as a club that gives opportunity, are willing to sell when you personally do well, and are happy to continue doing that, whilst everyone says we are a great club to play for, but in the same breath hopeless underachievers.

Basically we are now a ' window' for other clubs to come and cherry pick.

    And that...is seen as success.

The submissive attitude of a bloke who made a living playing a league below his level
