Massive following expected in the North Stand.....

I'm not usually one for boycotting matches, but I'd refuse to pay again to go to this match, so let's give them some leeway on attendance at this one. We'd only look stupid if we tried to mock them for a very valid boycott, on this occassion.

As for the match, I can't remember a game where I've wanted neither team to win quite so much!

A crap 0-0 with lots of sendings off would probably be the favoured outcome.

That was vandalism and treated as such. People went to Valley Parade to watch a football match and died in a fire. There is quite a difference.

Yes, of course. I'm not saying they are even close to the same thing.

I was clearly noting the irony that Rovers, of all fans, think that mocking a club because of a stadium fire was... Well there are no words to describe what they might have thought it was.

Dispicable is the only word that sums it up.

  3. Everyone knows that it's a case of "when" NOT "if" Derby start banging in goals. Please just let them have one more off day first..!

A front 2 of Vydra & Wilson is superb at this level, added to Ince, Russell & others, they have real talent. Easily capable of dishing out a hammering.

I fear the worst today, so I'd be ok with a draw on that basis.

Can we strike back like a proverbial wounded animal and hand out a ruthless, polished, clinical drubbing of our own..? Now wouldn't that be nice..?!

    Thanks, you called it right.

The quotes in my post are directly from the Wael Al-Qadi interview with Geoff Twentyman in which he confirmed that since his take over no new business management structure has been put in place.

And in the same broadcast his friend Samir said that many in Jordan had thought the Rovers take over was a rich boy getting a new toy to play with. No wonder that piece was taken out for the TV edition.

My quest to get serious points across through parodying Rovers is becoming increasingly difficult because the reality is so often funnier than anything which I can write.

Serious question.... Is this only just dawning on you..?

Were the majority of "sh'eds" actually right all along...?

They're the sixth richest club in the country!! I think this is some sort of attempt to show how unpretentious and loveable they are. Some of the more droll students might just go for it in an ironic sort of way, like watching films that are so bad that they're brilliant.

I know UWE is the far inferior Bristol uni, compared to Bristol university, but it's hardly the "Florence Brown" of universities, or the "Bristol Rovers" of football clubs if you like..!

It's hilarious that you think posting that is some sort of dig at us.

That season saw us finish as high up in the football league pyramid (the entire pyramid!!) as the 15ers EVER have. In your entire history you have never exceeded our achievement that season.

We were 90 minutes away from Premier League football and lost 1-0 to a wonder goal. It hurt, of course it did, but it's not like it was a goal that sent us out of the entire Football League.

You're going to think you have got to me as I have written a long post, but I genuinely find it funny that 15ers use Windass as a way of mocking us. Good god, your lot would sacrifice every virgin in Horfield (that's just the blokes under the Mem tents then) to get even a sniff of a chance to play against Hull in the Championship play off final.

    Absolutely.

I can see why they idolise him like a god for denying us our progress to the Prem. I get that.

But to think that reminding us of our achievements in getting to that position somehow upsets us shows just what morons they are and how far their priorities are detached from ours is quite pathetic.

Colin Daniel however...! Now their is a god like figure who enables mockery of the highest order on our part and shame & embarresment on theirs.

Amazingly on Gaschat there are the odd few using phrases like 'forward thinking' for this stall??  Some on there are happy because it was no worse than the other stalls, which sums up expectations really

What, like they are "no worse" than the rest of the clubs* in league one..?

    * not including the 18 clubs currently above them* in aforementioned league one.

*they have a game in hand, you know..!

I have never really understood what reaction they expect when they mention the name Dean Windass? Do they expect us to be embarrassed?  Angry? React with a 'bite' and lose our rag

OK....we lost. However the whole point of banter is taking the pi*s out of someone for something worthy of taking the pi*s out. That season was incredible and one we were very proud of.

Now....imagine dropping out the league altogether?

    Spot on.

If only there was a description for such inanely crap "banter"

Something that summed up their deluded drivel in one word. With a hashtag attached, maybe...?

Its very telling that the best that pikey can come up with is us reaching Wembley for a play off for the Premier League in front of 86,000.

Given all the gifts that ragass keep giving including todays little gem, its a bit stupid that they try to take the piss.

    Homer Simpson comes to mind.

    Doh !

I'm glad we lost that game.

I'm not sure I could take the ribbing from our illustrious neighbours as we suffer defeats at Old Trafford, Emirates & Ethihad.

I lose sleep at night over Lansdown's continuation of trying to get us there when it will be nothing but ridicule from the sags as they bask in the glory of achieving another point at home to the likes of Walsall & Rochdale.

    From the article linked

"Following consecutive promotions from Conference Premiership and League 2, the club was taken over by the Al Qadi family in February this year, and has since enjoyed an impressive third promotion into League 1. With the team performing well on the pitch the demand for tickets is up and the new owners have invested in upgrading the aging ground."

Third promotion, did I miss something?

Makes sense to me. Saves having to re-write the article at the end of the season, after they storm to the League one title, obviously.

How is that going by the way? Anyone seen the L1 table recently able to give a progress report?

    BREAKING NEWS

    PUBLISHED

    11:00 15th September 2016

Bristol Rovers will be hosting a stall at the University of the West of England's Freshers Fair tomorrow [Friday 16th September].

After a successful appearance at last year's fair, the club will again be present to try and attract more fans to the Memorial Stadium.

Students will have the chance to ask questions about the club, join the Supporters Club and find out more about special student offers.

Rovers are offering UWE students the chance to watch local football while they are away from home as well as a opportunity to win tickets to future games.

The fair takes place next Friday [16th September] between 11am and 4pm.

Maybe when they said the funding was in place to press ahead with the plans at UWE, this is what they meant?? Someone's paid for the hire of their tressel table for the fair..!

I wasn't really aware of Darrell Clarke before he was at Rovers so just did a quick wiki check. I'm not sure when this radio interview happened but he left Mansfield in 2001, that's quite some time ago to be fair.

Anyway, turns out he played for Hartlepool against us in that playoff game in 2004. Never knew that before.

    I didn't know that!

I didn't think my memories of that night could be any better, but they are now!
