Re the shirt raffle (I was trying to quote Bristol Rob and Lenred, but the quote thing isn't working properly for me atm) . Rovers have gone ahead with this, as tickets had already been sold ( I have bought one last season, and have again this time), I would imagine it won't go ahead next time- although that is purely conjecture on my part. You can take the piss out of the raffle all you want- and I'm sure you will continue to do so- but I think I'm right in saying it raised around £70k last year- which is decent for a club in our current circumstances- and it also gives a great chance for local businesses to be involved. I have heard Rovers fans slag off the draw as tinpot, and obviously City fans have done the same, I can put my hand on my heart and say- as long as the financial deal for the club is a good one, then  I would much rather see Rovers sponsored by a local business with an interest in the club, rather than by a larger company trying to 'buy into' football.

What? Like a Jordanian bank you mean Miah?

Understand they are having another raffle to find a new shirt sponsor.

Clearly the billionaire was unable to use any of his extensive middle east business associates to outbid some local pub.

Fingers crossed some company more embarrassing that a local pub will win the grand prize this year.

You have to wonder if Wally is going to actually invest at some point.

Why would the sixth richest man in the universe not want to invite the local green grocers, publicans, hardware stores etc dip their hands into their relatively tiny pockets?!!

Pathetic if true and if I were a gashhead I'd be worrying about things like this. Much easier and cheaper ways of connecting with the community. Especially when you're so rich!!!

Little sympathy for supreme rich players suckered into McIndoe's s heme.

Lots of sympathy for lower league players and family members who were not super rich but conned into parting with money they could probably not afford  to lose.

Agree but the old adages remain. 'Too good to be true and it probably is' and 'don't gamble what you can't afford'. Simple.

Considering that Gloucester Rugby was sold for around £20m last week I'd say £70m is massively overpriced for the Rovers.

Potential or not I'd rather have a profitable Premiership rugby team than a football club that was only promoted out of non-league 8 months ago.

Think the £70m is what the family are supposedly worth in total Dan as opposed to the 15ers selling price.

Well it wasnt my first port of call but anyway.

I was just interested in the reaction on here and offered my opinion. Not like i have come here to rub it in your faces

I am not a bitter City or Rovers fan trying to belittle either side. I havent slagged your club off or your chair.

As I say I hope this is a positive time for both clubs. Whilst soke on both sides would rather the other doesnt exist, i would rather have a competitive, rivalry as high up the leagues as possible

I'd rather we could keep your smug sag faces rubbed into the dirt in the little leagues and that you went out of business. But we can't always get what we want eh?!  Never mind, I'm sure the BRFC 15ers  gift will keep on giving either way!

Exactly, so why even mention it, thanks for sorting that out once and for all.

Today should be a celebration of Pemberton and Elliott and not somebody sat in the stand not being able to believe his luck.

Today should be a celebration of winning against our arch relegation rivals in what could be an absolutely massive 3 points.  No one knows who had what influence on any of the players and it doesn't really matter does it?  We won. Enjoy!

Surprised people are disappointed we weren't as good as a top flight side whose squad costs more than our side and the rebuild put together.

We didn't disgrace ourselves and we now move on to the business of getting ourselves safe in the league.

I'm really disappointed that we just didn't give it a better go tonight. Agreed they have a more expensive and better squad on paper but I really think we've missed a trick tonight by just going through the motions. We had a really good chance to be in the 5th round had we won this and how often can we say that? I realise I'm in the minority though and completely agree that the league is infinitely more important and even out of the boys I go with I was the only one with this view on the way home. Just think we've missed a trick tonight. Flat horrible atmosphere as well. Just a carp night all round after Saturday.  Onwards!

Your kidding right... Cotts needs to go and now, new manager, new ideas..

Let's get someone who can attract decent players in this league

Exactly this. Why people are still defending him and his inept running of our football team is beyond me. He needs to go and we need a proven champ manager brought in preferably before next weekend. We are certain to go down if we don't do it. We still have a chance if we make the change.

  9. This isn't good enough

    Performances must earn points

    Two points lost

wait for usual nonsense from Cotterill

We can't go on like this for league one beckons

Two away matches where we should have taken 6 points and we lose 5

Did you watch the game dude? We were fantastic. More like that and we'll be challenging for the playoffs come March time not battling League 1. Just need to utilise our subs a little better but I can't believe there's not a good reason why Cox hasn't appeared today
