  1. Why bother answering that drivel? Ok Dave I’ll bite. To what are you referring?
  2. Exactly. I’m in my 60s as I’m sure you worked out. Nice ground, nice city, nice club, it even has a singing section. Luckily this is the manking section that very occasionally is not talking complete bollox.
  3. There was a whole series about this. Us and PNE were neck and neck for being the biggest under achievers of the Prem era. PNE were considered the ‘winner’ because they have previous league and cup wins in their history. My personal opinion is that our success in the 70s was at a time we weren’t considered nice as a club and a city. In fact the intimidation level here was pretty high from the moment you parked your car. These days we have the effing singing section and minimal vocal support behind the goal, but give that to our opponents! The utterly **** decisions in this area just make me angry and just continues the idea we are soft. Which is true.
  4. Yes. I’m not sure how everything will work now. I would love to see a Job Description and an org chart
  5. Sykes was awful. He has been for a while. As of yesterday we had three maybe four players. Scott ConwAy and Weimann plus Atkinson Also rans Sykes Williams James Klose Semenyo Martin Bajic Kadji Low was not helped but kept getting skinned King is a has Been but was better than Klose Vyner needs someone better along side Kalas has a continuing sick note or why was he not around along with the Lesser Spotted bloke from FGR and the accident waiting to happen Naismith Pearson touched on our ability, that is still, evident to sign sick notes The upside of the awful run of form is clearly currently OLeary is number one and we can not be worse than that. For the first time Pearson and his hand picked assistants are under real pressure and after that I’m close to address my to it, if not to call for his head, but to stop him making excuses about not even being a mid table team On another note, is there some rule that the match can’t be shown in the concourse bars. Why was Reading v Watford on? It would be helpful to know when the players are back and neck my well earned large scotch after watching that shitty arsed excuse of a football team in the first half

    Semenyo

Pathetic. He rolled the ball wide with more than half the goal begging. He didn’t compete and had the ball stolen off him time and again.
  7. A short summary we were utter crap. A longer summary awful first half that we didn’t compete in. Semenyo is on the plane to Qatar and Klose was as awful as the 19year old who played along side him Kadji was beyond anonymous and Williams was utter utter useless Senior pros not turning up to help out debuts/almost debuts. Beyond gutless!
  8. For my sins I am unexpectedly in Brizz tonight and will be going. I called to get hospitality but it’s sold out, but told I can get pay on the day tickets. Can somebody let me know what the score is for potd. Do I rock up to a turnstile circa 1976 with cash or do I go to the ticket office and buy one there or anything else!? Any helpful comments appreciated! Many thanks Oxo.
  9. Will Bedminster cricket club have their parking open anyone know?
  10. I do. Often. However that one was deliberate. I’m in Brizz for two days and called in for hospitality for tonight (which was no longer available) and the bloke on the other end called it hostility too. However pay on the day. Looks like a couple at bedminster cricket club and fish n chips in a bag.
  11. Yes I agree. However apparently they were completely dismantled by and large on the basis of bringing in players with the right DNA. Not by the bloke who assembled them!?
  12. Ok so going to the following season JETs contract expired and he went back to London. Cunningham was pissed off and was sold and Elliot retired. I guess fairly natural attrition under the circumstances arguably. We did very little to bolster the players that were not gone immediately which was most of the team and struggled. Remind me was that when we bought Kodjia. Again seven years is a long time at 60. Gayle and Grey didn’t come and I remember being in the hostility suit at Reading pointing out to Mrs D we were in the bottom three. I’ll always remember her saying ‘we know where we are’.. I guess after SC and the appointment of LJ the squad were dismantled as we appeared to find gob loads of cash that SC wasn’t given and the promotion squad by and large were not thought good enough by the new incumbent. Is that a fair summary or am I way off?
  13.! The board of Bristol City in a being crap shocker!
  14. How is Bajic doing in the U21s? there will be a couple of switches I reckon. Joe Low and Bell possibly Andy King getting a start, but I don’t see in my Crystal Ball beyond anything that hasn’t been in the match day squad recently. This is a money spinning game if we get the right draw and may make a difference to spending in the future. SL will want to win it!
  15. I was on the open end that day. Kinda might explain it!
  16. Was it? I seem to remember that SL fell out with SC they got into an argument over Gayle and Grey and the promotion team were not reinforced sufficiently. Even the leg end that was Sack Cloth kicked us back. But I’m old now memory might be faulty!
  17. I always liked to watch Reims V Nancy
  18. Yes. More or less the way I saw it. The referee will never get a public rebuke and his performance will never be put on trial with that of the players. What bothers me is we know the standard of refereeing is as poor as it’s ever been, but we are unable to take advantage and instead play the bloody victim every week. The attitude of the club, players and supporters has to change. Take a leaf out of the Leeds United book and intimidate the bloke from the moment he arrives. The loss of the East End has made us the nice little club Pearson accused out of last week.
  19. We are playing players that would not have had a cat in hells chance of playing under other regimes. The reason being we have issues with remaining within the rules because the board of directors gave huge Gobs of money to a bloke who had no track record to spend it. The players we looked at including those That now play in the premier league that were deemed not good enough is soul destroying. I feel it on match day more than most some might say, but when it’s done it’s pretty obvious we have spent no money in the closed season and are trying to create something Dicks like out of the only place we can spend money, the academy.
  20. Wasn’t expecting that line up. But hey, right now I like it. Ask me at 5pm!
  21. Yes he hit that well didn’t he. You knew he was going to hit it as he made the little stutter steps. Tomlin hit a ball really neatly and with power, pity about that penalty. I believe there was a dressing room melt down at the end of the game.
  22. Wales is part of the United Kingdom, which is a fully independent sovereign state. But, the 'United Kingdom' is made up of a political union between four nations, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, that are countries in their own right and have varying degrees of autonomy. The clue is United Kingdom. For the record Wales is a Principality but Scotland is a Kingdom both in there own right. The Channel Islands come under the Home Secretary but have their own parliaments as does the Isle of Man Arguing country status one way or the other is a bit academic to those of us that don’t care, however robust independence movements suggest , like myself, that people are English etc before they are British. In fact the only people I know that call themselves British before anything else are immigrants (like Mrs Oxo) who don’t have a country affiliation
  23. We won the Anglo Scottish Cup too. (And the JPT/Freight Rover) Was there for that one and the players carrying the cup around afterwards. My old man didn’t really want to go, but I said it might be our only ever Chance to see us win a trophy. ? I guess I was very nearly right!
  24. I was at both games. Which makes us all gentlemen of a certain age range. I was sat , luckily for me in the Dolman right in line with Jimmy’s hit. Screamer with no doubt and probably the best strike seen at AG. I saw a recording was found. The two goals are very comparable of course, but Radford was running on to a knock back. If I remember Jimmy had the ball at his feet before he hit it. Not that makes a difference. I’ll call it a tie for the cleanliness of the strike as I don’t think Jimmys was better nor worse. The Saturday after Portsmouth we played Notts County if memory serves. What I remember is losing and running on the pitch. It also struck me that there was a lot more terrace space compared to the Portsmouth game and have no recollection of their goal!
