  1. Given that Nakhi got away with it last week, we can’t have too many grumbles about that one. And yes, I know the offence on Nakhi was a different level,.
  2. To be honest, I’d hope we were already ahead at that stage. We’re pretty much nailed on to miss it when we do finally get one! ?
  3. On the first point…..yep, sadly so……although it’s part of a much bigger issue about wealth and inequality in Britain. On the second, not sure that’s an issue of elitism…the opposite. Internet and something to connect to it are as a ‘utility’ nowadays - which is what the price increases they’re allowed to get away with are outrageous. But that’s probably for another thread!
  4. I’m pretty sure they’ll have made this decision after looking at the data they have for entry times. And they’ll be confident that at worst it won’t affect queue times. To be honest, my experience at supermarkets is that it’s people paying with their phones who are quickest. The slowest are those paying with good old fashioned cash. Who wait until everything is packed and then seem surprised to remember that they have to pay, rummage around in a bag trying to find a purse, then count out every last coin to see if they have the right money!
  5. If you can afford Premier League football then you can probably afford a £75 phone. And if you’re on a low income you’re likely claiming Universal Credit which you’d be expected to do digitally. They’re by no means a luxury nowadays.
  6. Not sure that is the most unreasonable bit. You remember to charge your phone before setting off. A bit like you remember to pick up your paper/card ticket before you set off now.
  7. Either that, or there are some that are so rare that they only live along an old railway line in Sheepway and haven’t been discovered there………yet ?
  8. I think in City’s case it’s probably more accurate to talk about minimising loss than maximising profit! But slightly more seriously, I think that whilst we’d all love to have the phone answered first time whenever we call, we also call constantly for us to go out and spend money to improve the squad. My personal experience is that buying tickets online is pretty easy and straightforward and not a bad experience at all. I bought my Cup ticket on Monday evening, and literally 2 minutes from clicking the link on my email to having the ticket printed off. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to steer as many as possible to that route and the point @Hittheginger makes above is a good one: not saying City do this but it’s not uncommon for companies to actively disincentivise customers from phoning to do things they could do online by deliberately making them wait longer if they use the phone. I am no IT expert, but I wouldn’t argue with your suggestion that the IT looks like it needs an update: it’s not very intuitive, it seems quite clunky at times, but I’d probably rather that was where any investment went.
  9. So, Paul Ince at Reading is 7th longest serving………and he’s been there 9 months. Astonishing.
  10. I thought the same Tony. And in fact most other sources are reporting this as a £6.14m contract, and simply as ‘part of the scheme to re-open the line” For example https://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/restoring-your-railway-contract-signing-brings-portishead-to-bristol-rail-services-a-step-closer Like you, I’m not quite sure what more of a business case needs to be made. Maybe it’s the case that everything can be done for the anticipated costs and to meet the anticipated objectives.
  11. Don’t you need to be bottomless to demonstrate that?
  12. I know what you mean, but I think the same situation arises with season ticket prices too??
  13. I wonder how many of our designated penalty takers over the past 450 days (or whatever) have moved on without ever getting the chance to take one!
  14. That is the cheapest! (I think an adult in the family area might be less, but you presumably have to buy more than one ticket there).
  15. Why not? Your season ticket seat is reserved for you.
  16. Anyone else remember that long long thread on the Millwall forum a good few years ago. Started by a fan having the same problem of thinking his seat wasn’t available, but still hadn’t grasped it about 10 pages and a whole load of hilarious posts later.
  17. For the Swansea game, I waited and waited for the ticket email, then realised that the ticket was attached to the confirmation email!
  18. The 15 points Juventus have had deducted for false accounting might just about do it?
  19. Not if it’s means they don’t qualify for Europe. It’s crazy nowadays how the top clubs assume European income as part of their financial plans. It would be like us budgeting to get to the 5th round of the Cup every year.
  20. Just don’t expect the quality within a stones throw of the ground that you may be used to at home! Last time we were at Carrow Road we stayed in the hotel on one corner of the ground and ate at the Delia Smith restaurant up the other end of the ground! No need to leave Carrow Road at all - although not to do so would be a crime in a lovely City like Norwich.
  21. So, the game where we'll set a new record (all competitive games) will be Blackpool. Live on TV!
  22. They’ve started taking bookings now for what looks like normal book your own table. Through to April.
  23. Rip It Up……..Little Richard
