  1. I thought the same Tony. And in fact most other sources are reporting this as a £6.14m contract, and simply as ‘part of the scheme to re-open the line” For example https://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/restoring-your-railway-contract-signing-brings-portishead-to-bristol-rail-services-a-step-closer Like you, I’m not quite sure what more of a business case needs to be made. Maybe it’s the case that everything can be done for the anticipated costs and to meet the anticipated objectives.
  2. Don’t you need to be bottomless to demonstrate that?
  3. I know what you mean, but I think the same situation arises with season ticket prices too??
  4. I wonder how many of our designated penalty takers over the past 450 days (or whatever) have moved on without ever getting the chance to take one!
  5. That is the cheapest! (I think an adult in the family area might be less, but you presumably have to buy more than one ticket there).
  6. Why not? Your season ticket seat is reserved for you.
  7. Anyone else remember that long long thread on the Millwall forum a good few years ago. Started by a fan having the same problem of thinking his seat wasn’t available, but still hadn’t grasped it about 10 pages and a whole load of hilarious posts later.
  8. For the Swansea game, I waited and waited for the ticket email, then realised that the ticket was attached to the confirmation email!
  9. The 15 points Juventus have had deducted for false accounting might just about do it?
  10. Not if it’s means they don’t qualify for Europe. It’s crazy nowadays how the top clubs assume European income as part of their financial plans. It would be like us budgeting to get to the 5th round of the Cup every year.
  11. Just don’t expect the quality within a stones throw of the ground that you may be used to at home! Last time we were at Carrow Road we stayed in the hotel on one corner of the ground and ate at the Delia Smith restaurant up the other end of the ground! No need to leave Carrow Road at all - although not to do so would be a crime in a lovely City like Norwich.
  12. So, the game where we'll set a new record (all competitive games) will be Blackpool. Live on TV!
  13. They’ve started taking bookings now for what looks like normal book your own table. Through to April.
  14. Rip It Up……..Little Richard
  15. Result. But also the manner of it. It was a battle more than a game of football. We wouldn’t have won that a few months ago.
  16. None of them stood out for me. Delap and Cannon both looked OK but nothing more. They weren’t particularly effective, although to be fair they didn’t get great service. They had a lot of high balls, but they were not the sort forwards want, and we managed on the whole to defend them pretty comfortably. Fernandez came on with about 10 minutes left, so didn’t really see enough of him to judge. Edit: PS - And Delaps long throws are nowhere near as effective as Rory’s!!
  17. You’ve got to milk the old ones while you can. After too long they become a bit deja-moo. And if you tell them too often seems like you’re pasture best.
  18. Did you see that gash down Nakhi’s calf when he came over to the City fans at the end of the game? Really nasty. In the cold light of day, I’d normally give most players the benefit of the doubt about whether an assault like that was deliberate or not. But not Cunningham - because I’ve seen his calculated efforts at intimidation too often before. I noticed too that there were two or three times when he sidled up to Sam Bell and was saying things to him - I wonder what that was about, but I’d hazard a guess that it wasn’t nice.
  19. The legacy of four years of Alex Neill still in evidence?? I never had Lowe down as that sort of manager?
  20. Thanks @Olé as usual. I’d also have to say that I didn’t feel it was quite as comfortable as you did! I certainly didn’t ever feel that the term ‘one-sided’ came to mind, however much it was qualified. That feeling probably wasn’t helped by the fact that the officials completely lost control second half, became utterly unpredictable, and that’s really not what you want as an away side at Deepdale. None of that is to detract from what we did, and did well. Yes we (generally) controlled things at the back, even when under pressure, and yes we broke well when we had the chance. But it was a pretty scrappy game for long spells. And partly for that reason I think the points are a bit generous. Scott particularly: don’t get me wrong he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch, but I just felt that we’ll see even better from him in the future - and then what score do you give him?! @ROSEBUD RED - it was hard to tell as we were defending the end farthest from us, and it got very crowded, but it looked to me like Kalas made an important contribution in the time he was on - a time when we were under most pressure. As others have said, seemed solid, but he also emanates a sense of calmness, and he gave us a lot more height (even if he’s not the tallest his ability to get up high is fantastic) and that was important because they were already a big side and they brought on another couple of giants as subs.
  21. Yep! Leaving aside loans, possibly the only other player you could say that about in my memory would be Andy Cole.
  22. It was a mistake, but I’ve seen worse. In fairness to him, from our view right behind the flight of the ball, it was moving wickedly, and then I think bounced too. As you say, that aside, he did well.
  23. He’s about the only one who wasn’t. Cunningham didn’t come on til second half. Although I wouldn’t put it past Cunningham to have kicked him in the warm up.
  24. It was great, tho must admit I thought a red was coming too. He actually pushed him into the referee!!
