  1. My MOM today, deserves a run in the side , he’s lively, positive, and is probably the best crosser of the ball we have.
His main issues is he misses a few too many  and his decision making and all round play is probably not championship standard. Not a problem when banging in goals, but Martin or a another will always come in when he is not.

O donnell started excellent then made a series of mistakes and never recovered, confidence was shot. Strange really because i thought he had everything to be a top keeper, but you need the mentality as well as the physical ability to make it.

I think it was him who was lobbed from inside the oppo half whilst he was watching the firework display outside of the ground? It was after Kory Smith got caught with the ball, I think LJ lost faith in him at that point.

Would really love to know what actually happened there, especially with all the agent £££ rumours. IMO there’s no chance anyone ever watched him play.

Wouldn't surprise me if some people did very well out of that deal.

I make you both 100% right.

Both Engvall and Styvar came at a time when there were lots of other "fingers" in the pie! in terms of "money to be made". I think there were some honest football reasons for both and others around then, where the transfer costs were way out of sync, but I suspect the "grease" that helped the deals to happen was an equal consideration to how they ended up on our books and rarely on our pitch......

  4. Chris Martin is needed on the pitch as we have no other forward like him, changing him for Conway, Wells, Sam Bell or any other striker currently on the books automatically changes how we have to play and weakens an already leaky defense at set pieces. Its why its not going to happen.

I do agree that Conway looks sharp, but no manager is going to not play Martin or Weimann if they are fit, so its a case of fitting other around them, not replacing them.

If the club can generate cash and we brought new players, it may change that dynamic.

He took the safe pass and the move stalled eventually as they regrouped.

100% correct and it happened more then once on Saturday and many, many times before. I assume he is trying to keep his "completed pass" rate high for the scouts and Stats! He was not alone in doing this, but as he adds very little else in other areas, It makes you wonder how he is worth a place in the squad..

I can only remember him chasing after the ball in areas we already had other players covering and pirouetting with the ball until he was disposed, he has become a show pony and is just waiting to leave and make his you tube clips impressive.

Dave, I never intended for FBC to carry out a forensic analysis of the teams performance - it has always been about just opinions regardless of how misjudged and ill informed they are.

And that is what most of us listen to FBC for, pure and simple fans talk, not neutral analysis that is out there already...

Win, lose or draw, its good to tune in and listen to people like me, giving "their" view of the game, it is not always the way I see it, but I love listening all the same and it has really added to my enjoyment of following the City.

Keep up the good work, its really valued by those who listen every week.

Yes. I love Martin but he is consistently blowing out of his arse after 60 minutes.

He was not the only one to be fair, Weimann was dead on his feet at the end (and the scorer I think was meant to be his man to mark, but he was miles away). Matty James was blowing before the 60 mark and surprisingly so was Williams towards the end...

I watch all the pre season training videos the club puts out and listen to the coaching staff and every year I think to myself "wow, we are going to be super fit this year" then just like last years opener against Blackpool, it dawns on me, the oppo's are fitter and finish the game stronger.... Hull were out running us at the and of the game all overr the pitch. we did not even use all the subs....

No mate. I’m just not an angry tribal fan who can’t see the full picture. I can also judge referring decisions impartially despite only supporting one of the teams playing. VAR would have proven no contact but it would have also given a penalty in the first half to Hull. VAR has ruined premier league football.  Thankfully it hasn’t yet had a chance to ruin EFL football

You are 100% correct that Hull should have had a pen in the first half, but it just confirms the Ref and his so called assistants were pretty useless bystanders in the game. Looking at the game as a whole it should have probably been a draw, but the worst mistakes by the ref, cost us more then Hull.

  9. Its not HNM's lack of goals and assists that bothers me, it is his bad lapses in a defensive role (failing to track runners, being out of position, losing the ball in dangerous positions) that has cost City dearly in many games (he has at least as bad a record on it as Taylor Moore). Its this, not his lack of goals that worries me and clearly many other potential buyers..

    "no interest" speaks volumes......

A nice lad, some amazing moves (that his PR can make look great on YouTube), but flattered to deceive and massively over hyped. Looks like a footballer, but needs to deliver and it is almost certainly going to need to be elsewhere.

Probably going to end up as a loan out, followed by a a big write off in the books at the end of the contract.

  10. I think "they" know is the truth and its a case of Nelsons "blind eye". From a legal point of view they cannot openly allow it due to the TV deals and complications around that, but nothing is done to stop it as its extra revenue.

I am exiled within the UK for various reasons (also have a rarely used season ticket)... so the club and footy in general is benefiting from additional cash in my and many others case.

  11. He does not actually deny he was not fit, just that he got injured and that set him back, then was not really given a chance to regain full fitness within the first team squad.

But I suspect its was a bit more "behind the scenes" then just that. I know he said he got his own trainer to help him, (but that's what Tomlin said!)... Its a bit like me getting gym membership (which I have!), it does not stop me indulging too much in beer and chips and weighting in at over 100kgs! I am not saying that is what LB has done... but the proof would have been in the data/numbers and I doubt he would have been let go if his data showed he was an athlete and had a matching lifestyle.

NP stated he was happy with his play / ability. it just has to be sustained over 90 minutes at the highest level. That was where the doubts were.

He seems a nice lad and hopefully will score plenty and prove the doubters wrong...
