  1. yep, shows the camera can lie! first angle it looks a terrible miss, but the second angle to the side, show it is deflected at the last moment and this causes him to be be slightly ahead of it and unable to steer it into the net.

To all those mocking Page’s comments, I don’t know who the best fans in the world are (if there is any such thing) but I arrived in Bordeaux the day after Wales beat either Slovakia or Russia in 2016 (I dont remember which) and the place was full of Welsh drinking and having a good time. I sat with loads and had a great day and I can absolutely say without any doubt I would rather spend time with the Welsh fans at an overseas tournament than the English

brilliant occasion that, it was Slovakia and I went with a few mates from the Welsh village I lived and worked in, when I did a 3 year stint in mid wales and played for the local team. I am a bit of a mongrel (very proud to be Bristolian born and bred, so mostly English, with plenty of German, Swizz, Irish blood mixed in!), but was happy to follow the welsh boys at the 2016 Euros to keep an old promise I made 30 odd years before with my welsh teammates!

Not an ounce of trouble the whole weekend, a total festival of footy, with everyone mixing with everyone else in the bars and fan village, add in Bordeaux was brilliant as well. Made me wish at the time I was more then a temporary plastic Welsh fan ..... followed England a fair few times and I am afraid even on occasions when English not looking for trouble, it was always in the air and effected the atmosphere negatively.

It was a much better experience with the Welsh boys and gals...

  3. Shout out for another masterpiece of an article by James Piercy, you can tell its written by him just by reading it, he by far the best and most insightful local jorno we have covering City.

I love the way he states "its" the contract that is the issue, not Palmer, I completely agree with that, its not Palmer's fault we paid loads of money out for him, (yes he needs to be sensible now and look to earn his keep by playing footy elsewhere), but it was the result of a pre covid spending boom we did to get to the PL.

Sadly, in Jimmy Lumsden we had a manager who didn't know how to get the best out of Bob Taylor. He was sold to WBA and promptly scored 37 goals for them. I can't help thinking that at £ 250k I think, it was way to little and perhaps it was planned, by way of reducing his effectiveness, then value.

there was some very "dodgy" deals in those days, i suspect this one could have been one of them.

Marvin Elliott now who could do both!!

now there is a midfielder we could all agree on, one of the best without doubt, had a bit of everything. whats he doing now? as there is paper talk of 38 year olds being signed, wonder if Marv could return....

  6. FBC has become my first listen of the weekend (not just as they are normally first up), and I am the happiest of happy clappers! you want to be entertained as well as informed, when listening to things about city... They are all entertaining including Ian. None of them say they are always right about everything.

I actually listened to the last FBC twice this weekend (as I had loads of DIY stuff and all the city podcasts keep me company whist doing it), I did not think it over the top when reflecting on the game and the whole season...

Yes its a bit negative and yes we have been on a good run and yes Huddersfield are a good side...... but on the flip side they are mostly correct in what they say, judged on the season we have been poor results wise and mostly even worse to watch.  "fake tears" from overpaid footballers are all too common, be it from 20 years olds or 30+ year olds... HNM has flattered to deceive from the start and yes I am afraid it probably is to do with his "look" as much as anything else. AW has been nothing less then brilliant this season and Headhunter has repeatedly admitted it and said he got it wrong. but in the past seasons he has run around in a slightly headless way for much of the time. so judged before this season FBC had that about right.

FBC don't follow the party line and are the better for it, they are knowledgeable on football and passionate about City, we should value all the pods as they are all good in their own way. it does probably need one more "happy clapper" on there to balance it up.

I really value all Dave Fevs says and see where he is coming from, but I for one dont want Ian G or the others to change their ways, its more fun to listen to and they are not ASKING anyone else to feel the same way, they are just giving their opinions.. long may it continue...

the only moan I have is the background sounds of keyboard tapping and hand washing that seems to go on every episode!

  7. agree with everything Ole said, other than Semenyo 7 (more like a 4 for me).

He tried hard (he always does and is a very honest player), but he was poor on the night, slipping over a lot an often forgetting to take the ball with him. he need to improve his heading as he often jumps and completely misses the ball.

I forgive him it all though as he is a joy to watch, a lovely guy, still learning and i think still improving. physically he has everything

Sad thing was that GJ left him out far too frequently claiming that Noble didn’t work hard enough…….but in reality he was leaving space for his son………:cool2: The fact is that Noble would have been starting under any other manager.

Spot on! and you can add Alex Russell to that list of better players who were often overlooked, so GJ could play little Lee....................

Yes, my 3-5-3 formation. I tried to laugh it off, but felt there was no coming back and stayed on the canvas.

It was the best bit of a very good podcast! you should have rolled with it! its VERY easily done, in a mad moment I put on 12 players at half time in an U14 game I was "managing", it was a friendly parent who informed me of the mistake 10 minutes into the second half................ fortunately no goals had been scored in that time frame....

I think with the standard of some of the refereeing we have faced this season, I think we would have half a chance of getting away with it....

  10. there was a picture of him training with Walsall recently, looked an absolute barrel, completely out of shape now, but sure there is magic in those boots occasionally.

agree with all the above comments, gave me some of my best moments watching city and kept us up, but after signing was a total waster and crippled the club in more ways then one...

  11. Only met Doug Harman once (per game stadium visit with my kids), but what a lovely guy. City through and through and took time out to speak to me and the kids, answered all the questions we and the rest of the tour had and then took us all into a few other rooms and to meet some of the players (that he was not supposed to do).

So cheers Doug for all you have done for our club over the years and thanks for the warm welcome you give my family and I when we came in many years ago, we always remembered that day and you made it very special for us.

I think the ref was in two minds and was almost pleading the linesman to help him out. The bloke just stood their with vacant eyes.

100% correct, I don't actually blame the ref on this one, the linesmen had a perfect view of it and Stroud keep deliberately eye-balling him to help/indicate a foul had happened, absolutely nothing registered and he played on...

A one game pass to RobinsTV is available for a tenner. They do monthly as well, if you are here for any length of time.

    Incidentally, where in Thailand?

we will have to form a Thai City supporters club!
