  1. I dont know about Harry, I used to be close but I don't know anyone on the inside these days. I bailed out when DV changed the club colours from black&white to Ecotricity green. As per Cardiff there are some things you just don't mess with. All I've heard is rumours of a training ground bust up and/or DF and the new DoF being on different planets. I'm racking my brains about DV last December, do you mean the Palestinian flag thing? I have very little to do with the club these days but did go to the Fans Forum with DV and DF in March for the want of anything else to do of an evening. DF came across as very amiable and positive but clueless as regards to modern lower league football. One thing that did shock me was that someone suggested from the floor that they appeared to have signed the worst centre-forward and goalkeeper in the world (Bakayoko and Doohan signed by new HoR Steve Grieve in January). Vince smiled and said something along the lines of 'there are some in the club that wouldn't disagree with that'! I thought, blimey that ought to do wonders for their confidence!. The whole Forum is on YouTube if anyone is interested. To be fair, both players have been utter shite apparently but... It's certainly been a soap opera for the last 12 months and has helped keep me sane through some difficult times!
  2. - one of the objections actually mentions dog walkers!
  3. The other thing about Nakhi is his injury record, can't actually remember him missing a game through injury! Even that Holden/Pearson season where the treatment room must have resembled the London Dungeon, I think he played or was on the bench in pretty much every game?
  4. What were the odds of 2 ex City players being in such a list??? Matt Smith (is rubbish!) now at Salford City apparently.
  5. Lots of 'noise' around Luton in the PL but to me Bournemouth are and have always been, a lesser club than Luton. Could say the same about Brentford too but they didn't buy a place in the PL as Bournemouth did. Thirty, even twenty years ago, if some one had said we'd be a league below Bournemouth Brentford and Luton, you'd have thought things would be going very badly for us...
  6. Before reading this thread I could only name 1 Ipswich player - Wes Burns, he couldn't get in our team when he was here and certainly wouldn't today either.
  7. I think the whining about that game continues to this day.
  8. Grantley Dicks played for FGR around the time they got promoted to the Conference. Looked just like his brother and played like him too.
  9. Can't understand why Bradford are still grubbing around in L2, they should be steamrollering that league with the crowds they get.
  10. Level 10 actually. Right at the very bottom.
  11. Withnail, Spinal Tap, LOTR*3, Life of Brian
  12. Same here, thought it was a honest interview but it's very clear we have to improve on league position next season, which I'm sure Nigel has no illusions about. No bigging up for the sake of it. I've read a fair few mentions about SL's ego but to me he's never come across to me as particularly an egotist, in fact completely the opposite. He's clearly quite reserved and not very confident in front of a mic/camera, although he did wam up a bit towards the end of the interview with 20man. He's very rarely in the press local or national and never on social media. Maybe I've just had too much of Dale Bloody Vince, on Twitter, Facebook, Local Papers, Local Radio, BBC TV, Radio 5, Blogs etc etc around here!!! Literally every week his mug, gleaming white teeth and trendy haircut (he's 61) pops up somewhere or other. FGR is all about Dale Vince and no-one dares disagree with him. His luck finally ran out last season and the lack of football knowledge was all too obvious. Suddenly he couldn't fix things by chucking a load of money at the problem.
  13. Form is temporary, class is permanent. For me that was the most important goal of the season, now 16 points above bottom 3, where it could have been 10.
  14. Yep, I actually thought he was more of a attacking midfielder rather than out and out striker when we signed him, he's got plenty of experience so should be able to adapt.
  15. Other than taking out Haaland within the first couple of minutes I have no idea, in fact it's a pretty scary prospect now it comes down to it! I would play Bell, he'll be an unknown to Man City, has real pace and that can always be a problem for any defender. Target John Stones, he's always got a mistake in him. Alex Scott might get a bit more freedom than he's used to against typical Championship midfield thugs.....
  16. Was wondering if he was related. Very funny if he shares his uncle's work ethic, I'd be flying to Holland ASAP if I was linked with Bristol Rovers.
  17. Can we loan him back to Wycombe for the postponed game against he Gas?
  18. Yes but given that if he scores against us means that he would have beaten an aggressive Cancer then the result of a game of football wouldn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. A very good friend and workmate lost his wife to Cancer at age 49 just before Christmas and he was the guy who I watched 'that' ManU game with, so he and his family will be in my memory to my dying day.
  19. They need at least 30,000 capacity for when they get to the PL, hell probably nearer 40,000 given they took that many to Wembley in that famous game where no Grimsby Town supporters turned up at all
  20. Thanks, duly donated. I don't mind saying that I wouldn't mind Nick scoring against us one day.
  21. See Hibs lost 0-3 to bitter rivals Hearts in the cup yesterday, three weeks after losing to them 3-0 in the league. Must be on borrowed time there surely?
  22. Very odd, must surely be the first time a Manager has got a vote of confidence from his Agent?
  23. The stupid thing is that if they had started work on rebuilding the Mem to say a 12-15000 capacity as soon as the UWE plan was abandoned, it would be done and dusted by now and they'd have a fit for purpose stadium. Still not selling out but for half the cost of anything starting now But of course that would never happen because they need at least 30000 capacity to accommodate all the imaginary support that they have
  24. She was referring to the Family stand at Twerton Park, not the Mem. Although I doubt whatever they built at Twerton was any more impressive.
  25. Calm down, calm down. USA needed the win more then we did and you could see that. Unlike me, GS had worked out that a draw was enough tonight. If you don't play well make sure you don't lose, the subs did that. Take a step back, we're through to the next round (we won't lose 4-0 to Wales, whichever combination of 11 players we pick) after 2 games, can rest players in the next game and still everyone is complaining. Argentina and Germany would do anything to be in our position right now.
