  1. One thing is for sure, it's the first time ever that a managerial sacking has left me feeling no positivity about the future.

His record was abysmal, but who's gonna make it any better?

Paying him off has removed how much from the FFP budget?

  2. I dont get our club no wins in 13 and he stays then 1 loss in 7 and he gets the sack... unbelievable

It is difficult to argue with that. Especially when Tuesday's performance was a lot better.

Which makes me think their hand is forced timing-wise on a specific candidate.

  3. Complete guess as I have no knowledge to suggest as such.. but Paul Hartley who has been doing well at Alloa has been given permission to speak to Inverness. Perhaps we are looking to swoop in there?!

He left us as he wanted to be in Scotland with his family.

  4. Is this a wind up? I've got no email

I got it 10 mins ago.

Unless someone has hacked into the email distribution list it is true.

Radio Bristol were about to announce it then pulled back. They aren't sure.

  5. In planning

    There is a rule.

Nobody has a right to light

It is a shame, a couple of SELFISH people have stopped Ashton Vale (I hope their Grandchildren remember them for what they have achieved with their SELFISHNESS, for there futures.)

They will get the 43 acre site, but it will be full of weeds and them (An ugly sight)

But they do not realise in about 10 years time, there will be houses built there! (SL will make his money that way instead) And they will not have the pretty park land that SL said he would provide, with 2 Pond/ Lakes for wildlife and pretty walkways through woodland. (This is when the Law changes for the better.) And he would have managed and maintained it!

A Major road will join the A38 with the A370 (Quarter of a mile long) Part of the Bristol Ring Road, and better access to Bristol Airport.

They are living in Cuckoo land if they have not realised this already.

SL sells the land for social housing thus follows an inevitable decline towards unsavoury behaviour, noise, litter, crime etc etc. Let's hope that 50% is left aside for the travellers permanent site with easy access to the A370.

They need somewhere to live too and the AV brigade, I'm sure, will be delighted to have a helped.

  6. So much about the planning process / investment / economics is baffling.

People will have personal agendas to prevent development then complain that the nation as a whole can't look after them properly.

The same people who (often understandably) complain about development will also be the same people who whine that there's not enough in the governement coffers to pay healthy pensions, maintain roads and the state of public services.

Where do they think jobs and prosperity come from?  They are very lucky that they will be broadly insulated from the lack of investment in their area.  If they were told their pension was being cut this year due to the cancelling of planned development revenues or their hospital operation couldn't go ahead ...

  7. Am I the only one who thinks should we ever be in a position where we regularly sell out our ground will knock down the atyeo and buy up the houses behind to build a stand the size of the Williams in height? I've been told the fronts of the houses are listed? They can easily be built into the structure of a new stand. Houses being bought up would clearly cost a lot but the long term payback would be massive!

We would have to reach the prem if this idea were to be realised

Have never heard of parts of a house being listed. Not a house where it's essentially all from the same era. Maybe that's just hearsay. Nice houses in their time but they are run of the mill.

  8. Maybe the NIMBYS would support a move to demolish their own homes, reinstating the woodland that would have been there in years gone by. They'd never have permitted the building of of their own place if they'd been around at the time.

  9. What is it with Bristol. It's a bloody awful place to live sometimes.

The only people who have managed wholesale changes have been the Luftwaffe for goodness sake.

Since the destruction of the oldest part of the city and with 70 years of time now passed it is nothing more than a patch of grass. That's the ambition of many Bristol people unfortunately.

  10. Over a year ago I was attending a match at Ashton Gate, Just after half time I was returning to my seat and approached by about 5 coppers, I was arrested on suspicion of assault and handcuffed and taken tothe cells inI the ground. After about an hour I was released on bail, no charges were ever brought against me.

What had happened was someone who I know from the past saw me at half time briefly, that person then found the nearest copper and made an allegation of assault against me. The police then reviewed the CCTV and found I had not assaulted this person, in fact it showed I did not go within 20 meters of that person.

Great I thought my name had been cleared. Wrong I was! A few days later I received a letter in the post from Bristol City informing me I was banned for 6 months following my arrest. The letter said I had no right of appeal and any attempt to enter Ashton Gate during this period would result in a life time ban (even on non match days) following this period I then had to sign a behaviour contract with the club. All because someone had alleged I had assaulted them.

I never knew you could be found innocent by clear evidence (the cctv saw me walk to and from my seat) yet still be punished, I missed over half a season with a season ticket I already paid for and still on a probationary term now.

Yet the accuser didn't get done for wasting police time or anything.

    That's justice for you.

What would your take on this be Nibor?? Should I have been banned for life simply because I was accused of something that I didn't do?

Your story makes me fume.  I would gladly support a complete boycott of the club on this until they fully refund you and apologise publically.  This WILL happen again otherwise.

How about an empty stadium until they start treating fans with a bit of respect?

Won't last more than a game.  They'll cave in.
