Add Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Newcastle to that too, proper grim up there .

You are joking aren't you, Newcastle is a lovely city that beats bristol in just about everything! The coastline all the way along is absolutely stunning with lots of regenerated coastal towns.

Its way for us southerners to say it's grim up there, but really it's not!

yo-yo team, can't stay up there and have 3 managers a season... not for me

Hahahahaha what I would give to be a yo yo team!

Its fans like you accepting mediocrity that forever holds us back!

Poorly ran club. Incredibly grateful to have someone like SL.

Really? While we settle for the mediocre

Watford have been in the prem on a regular occurance how can they be badly run?

If I am right he wanted to go elsewhere, and no suitors hence still here & signed that new contract a while back.  Let's hope he ends up with that 'end product'.

    No your not right

Yet you've cited Norwich, Brighton and Brentford as well-run clubs - each run by fans.

    Mae your mind up!!

    Really, interesting thought!

Norwich - Delia smith and Michael Wynne Jones

Brighton - Anthony grant bloom, major share holder

    Brentford - Matthew benham

Get your facts right before trying to be little someone, don't believe any club in Orem or champ is fan ran

Burnley are owned by an American investment company that owns dozens of different sports teams and absolutely want to make money on the transaction.  None of the directors are fans of Burnley. The club was bought with a high-interest loan secured against the equity of the value of the team and club assets. I don't think it'll end well for The Clarets.

Haven't got time to write more. Just off to se the bank to secure a loan to buy Man U using the value of the club's assets as security....

i would argue you are better off not having fans on the board as it stops head ruling heart!

but if that’s your criteria we will have to agree to differ

My question would be " Do you consider that the Board , including you, made a horribly wrong decision to employ Pulis instead of Moyes?"

With a follow up of "If you had recruited David Moyes at that time, do you now believe that City would have been a fixture in the Premier League if you had financially supported him as you did for another more recent City Head Coach?"

Contraversial! You will have the lansdown lovers after you with that one!

    A balanced and fair comment.

Any criticism of SL is always met with at least he's not Mel Morris, Tan, the Venkys or whoever the latest villain in the news happens to be.

But it's criticism that's developed out of sheer frustration that we could and should have done so much more with his financial backing.

    If I'm marking SL's homework it's

    9/10 for effort

    6/10 for results

And 2/10 for performance with the recruitment of MA and LJ basically an expensive waste of 5 years.

That sums up my feelings nicely, thank you!

So many mistakes over his tenure it's difficult to like the bloke now for me.

You’re treating SL as if he is a scheming villain though, when in fact he is a well meaning owner who has underachieved but pulled no underhand or illegal stunts to get the club in trouble.

Very true, I just believe his time has been, but I do realise I am in the minority

Hamburg mate. Was against Frankfurt (I think). We got chatting to a frankfurt fan in our hotel on the day of the game and he was trying to get us to meet up with him and his mates after the match. He's a police officer but said his wife and bosses 'let' him have a month a year of 'fun' where he meets up with other fans. We were sat right by the away fans and he was the bloke who was there with the loudspeaker thing getting everyone going. We decided against meeting him. ?

Edit - he was a good bloke tho and gave our Stag a signed vintage shirt from their record signing player.

St Pauli is an unreal atmosphere, their ground is just along from the rheeperbahn so full of their fanatics! I believe they may have been relegated now but was absolutely superb when I went, well worth a visit! I agree Hamburg is very good as well

Saying 'but he could've been better' while totally ignoring that he could have been a lot worse isn't much of an argument. We've all got our frustrations at not getting PL football in 20 years but you come across like someone with a real axe to grind.

and forever quoting the derby owner who is in the headlines at the moment is no argument, vice versa

I know it’s all relative, but how much have you put in this season?

£35 for the hospitality offer, i don’t believe WE seen much of the game though!

You're right, what have the Lansdown's ever done for us?

Made the club unsaleable, took away ground ownership from the football club while building a huge portfolio for themselves.

    Carry on the love in
