I was involved in a brief discussion about enjoying football.

I didn’t enjoy the game today and the result had little to do with that.

The game today it seemed to me was all about possession and very little about entertainment.

I don’t pretend to know the answer, but if our football, and football in general doesn’t provide entertainment to spectators then what’s the point in going to a game?

If anyone who reads this did enjoy the game please tell me what you enjoyed?
The football from both sides was 99% flat and the crowd was 99% quite.

    Excellent post

Agreed it’s a midtable squad. And we all know it. I honestly think that’s why the majority feel not that bothered/upset - at the end of the season, we’re 100% guaranteed to still be in the championship. Getting a bit boring really - anyone up for a spell in League One and looking good again?

Don’t be too sure of being guaranteed championship football, this squad is heading for a fight for survival after a performance like that.

so.....I'll admit to listening to the entire podcast between James English and Joey (I had nothing better to do today). It's actually an entertaining listen if you want to keep your mind open

I’ve listened to a fair bit of it and he’s a proper megalomaniac, boasting about all the scraps he was involved in, one day someone will give him a good hammering and I hope it’s captured on camera

  4. Coming into contact with another player doesn’t constitute a foul, as said previously this is what’s wrong with today’s game, trying to con the referee at every opportunity, no other word for it but cheating, referees are criticised continuously but players need to take a long hard look at themselves, it’s embarrassing

  5. Ask yourself a question, would you consider being a football referee?
The answer is probably no, today’s football officials get insulted, abused, threatened and conned every game.

Before each game starts the players exchange handshakes and the moment the game starts they’re trying to get opposing players booked or sent off with the feigning injury tactics,  slapping the turf and doing triple turns only to be perfectly ok to continue a minute later, no other word to describe this but cheating and we blame referees for being not up to standard.

As a former referee in local football there was a time when I used to enjoy Saturday afternoons but the abuse and threats of violence against me eventually made me decide to give it up.

So would you like to become a referee?

See we’ve given Ipswich another 911 tickets today - will be 3,414 of them on Wednesday if they sell their additional allocation..

Lets send them home will nil-points 🤞🤞

If they take their full allocation that will be some effort given the distance involved
