I do think the rugby thing is nonsense. Either it's appropriate to play, in which case play it tonight as scheduled, or it isn't appropriate so shouldn't be played at any point this weekend. Shifting it back a day just inconveniences people, especially as it's now unable to be shown on TV or streaming.

Yep. I think they should have played, but am not surprised at all that they aren't and can sort of understand why. However some of the reactions have been quite eye-opening, particularly from posters who are normally a lot more level headed and rational. I hope for their sake that most of it is performative.

I can't see next week's games being affected. If, as rumoured, the funeral is a week on Monday then there'll be no play on that day, presumably just starting a day later.

I think this weekend will be off, but midweek and next weekend should be okay (if the funeral is next Saturday, games shifted to Sunday).
