  1. At best he was unprofessional. His comments didn't upset me as such, but him using his position to make them did. Shame on WBA, they need to employ more professional people as it reflects on them as a club.

OK mate, as a little taster then this is Janelle Monae on her TV debut on Letterman.

If you like rock and hip hop then you should have no problem appreciating this performance.

One for @Lew-T as well as plenty of soul and a bit of funk on show too.

    Plus her dancing!

I saw her at the Academy years ago and, like I say, one of the best all round artistic performances I've ever seen.

Music is so much personal taste. I tend not to like many female singers in general, seeing even just that clip I've decided she's not for me.

Last Glastonbury I went and saw Raye who was highly recommended to me by many people. She didn't do it for me at all but has since gone on to win loads and loads of music awards and nominations at the Brits (?). I certainly wouldn't see her again, but like I said music is personal taste.

I do like Glastonbury for that, having the choice and discovering new stuff. If you don't like something you can move on, but unless it's really bad I tend to stick it out and try to get the feel of it. I stuck out Raye but wish I hadn't if I'm honest.

  3. Regarding the substantial increase in the SS, I can see why the club have done it. They have gambled on people paying the £105 (?)and not bringing their kid for much of the season, so empty 'blocked' seats.

Or/ they are hoping people don't want the seat at that price which then frees it up to be sold for a POTD price of around £30 a go.

No the seats might not be sold every match, but as they are the cheapest in the stadium for POTD they most likely will be the first to be sold. So a seat will only have to be sold around 3 or 4 times (to an adult) and it would generate the same income as a kids ST.

As for the benefits thing, I'm bored of this now and has taken the thread way off topic. I still stand by my belief that if you want anything above the human right basics then you have to work for it or fund it yourself somehow, whether that is hobbies, holidays, fancy foods, days out, whatever.

Thats my final word. If you don't agree, I'm fine with that.

I remember when I started going you got a cheaper ticket if you were able to show your UB40 card.

Was that when unemployment was at a record high and there were hundreds of applicants for even the basic jobs? It's very different now with vacancies unfilled. There is of course work from home, broadband etc which there wasn't back then. Most fit and able bodied people can now do some sort of work, but unfortunately the benefits system doesn't motivate them too. Obviously there are exceptions but I personally don't see why it would be feasible to offer discounts in this case. The cost will have to be found somewhere, and everything has a cost.

Access to some form of recreation is a basic need.

There are plenty of parks etc for fresh air and exercise. If football really is a MUST stand on the touchline of a parks match. But to suggest a business should offer their expensive product at a further discount to people on benefits is a complete non starter.

Further up I proposed a loyalty discount increasing each year. That would be one measure.

The fairest way would probably be a discount for those on government benefits, but I’m not sure if that could realistically be implemented. It’s the only real way to identify those who need the help, although some might argue it’s not a reasonable threshold.

Why should people on benefits get discounted tickets? Isn't football a hobby? No matter how you sugar coat this it's not a necessity.

Benefits from my understanding should only cover basic needs, food, warmth, transport. Not fags, booze, drugs, betting and Sky TV, and now football???!!! If people on benefits want those things they work for them or save up like everyone else!

  7. I saw Dizzee Rascal a couple of times, last time at Glastonbury where the stage (West Holts) was much too small for him, it was rammed and caused chaos with it being late and people trying to get by on the way to Shangri-la etc.

I think he's lost a bit of credibility since then though, I fully expect Joey B to have a ticket!

    added price increases in red.

u12 South stand the big jumper!

I guess they are the empty seat holders on the whole. Now there is a choice of paying a premium price and leaving the seat empty or giving it up. Either way the club wins, and by doing this people in other stands can have smaller increases.

Lets face it £50 for a ticket and a free shirt was too cheap and it was abused. The price increase has possibly freed up some seats for much wanted POTD and brought bthe SS more inline with other stands.

Far too much fuss over nothing, what’s more concerning is the over-reaction from the stewards

So you want kids running on the pitch at any random time do you, I doubt that. Let a couple get away with it and they will all start again. Remember all the shirt beggers we used to have towards the end of matches a couple of years ago.? I don't want to see that again thanks

I'd be surprised if it was high as 20k  I really would. Closer to 15k than 20k IMO.

Absolutely not the one announced no.

It never is as like we all know ST holders are counted in as standard. But actual bums on seats is always at least 5000 off what is given, yesterday it was more due to all the factors previously mentioned I would think

Just reading back this thread, a couple people mentioned Steve Lansdown was in attendance yesterday.

Can I ask, is that unusual? With not being able to see the centre executive box from the South Stand, it's rare for me to know is SL is in attendance or not?

Not unusual, but he certainly doesn't attend every match like he used to.

As for the attendance, I'd take about a third off the figure given and that would be closer

By that logic, Plymouth are a bigger club than West Ham.

The absolute neck of this club.

So how would you have made sure the fans who regularly travel away get the best chance of getting a ticket, how would you have made the small allocation fairer? Full disclosure I am one of the fans who qualify, and yes fully question my sanity look ruefully at my bank balance😄

The trouble is, do the Lansdown then give the same amount of money to another employee who needs help? Eg a tea lady who’s worked there for 20 years.

I know what you mean, but I doubt if the tea lady is held in such high esteem and has helped loads of people through charity matches and giving up her free time. That said i believe the club were excellent with the Fillingham family when Lisa died last year, she was an long term employee for those that weren't aware.

I have given. as they say there by the grace of God go I.
