  1. Not only is the fan base less than half the size but it’s also dying out. Very very few youngsters support the few, the gap is growing, you ****, not closing. The Championship is something they know absolutely nothing about, 30 years since they were at that level now.
  2. Nope, the aforementioned Les Carter.
  3. Also (at the risk of repeating myself) they have been out of the division for a while & really don’t get yet just how competitive it is. Leicester, Leeds, Southampton, Norwich & Watford for example will all have far more money to spend than them. This is not the season for speculating wildly, last year was, but they were playing jokers like Rovers then.
  4. Spot on, both were absolutely shite. Gooding had vibes of John Burns who Pulis inexplicably signed from Forest when we sold Jim Brennan, you had no idea what he was even supposed to be good at, truly terrible players.
  5. Not arguing with any of that, just think a communication from him & the club that we’re parting ways would have made more sense now we’re back in training & he’s either on holiday in Prague or trawling round the gentrified parts of BS3 whilst his former team mates are doing SDS tests..
  6. Definitely is Wayne Bray.
  7. If this is true (& I have absolutely no reason to doubt you) then seeing as he’s in BS3 on the day his contract expires whilst we are training, only a super optimist would now think he’s staying. I like Tomas as a player but still see this as pretty disrespectful, we should withdraw our contract offer now & move on.
  8. All true. Gooding & McCaffery were 2 players we borrowed after going bust but the league then changed their mind on whether we could sign players on loan having done so, we were made to send them back. We argued Carter wasn’t a loan but on a contract until the end of the season so he stayed. He (& Gooding) in particular were really poor players. After this game & once we sold our only 2 assets in Harford & Moller we went on an 11 game run losing 9 & drawing 2. Basically it was John Shaw & loads of kids, despite the nostalgia for that era it was grim as hell, crowds were 3 or 4 thousand by seasons end.
  9. If anyone can name the 4 outfield players in the middle picture they are hardcore. We were in a real mess then, this was just after going bust.
  10. Bolasie, we paid just £20k for him. Sold him to Palace for £350k, the sell on then netted us £5m, at the time one of the biggest fees we’d received for someone, who was no longer even our player.
  11. I don’t think it has ever happened. Indeed Baker is the only City player I can ever recall being released on the official retained list & then signing on again, as you say, exactly 2 years ago yesterday. King signed his contract extension on the 30th June last year, my hunch is that he does the same thing again tomorrow. I’m as sure as I can be that Kalas is gone, I just don’t think you stay on holiday for the first day of pre season if you’re planning on sticking around.
  12. Not sure about this, there are plenty of goalkeepers out there, some of whom won’t have clubs. To me this issue all depends on Bajic’s future, if he doesn’t want to return or doesn’t look the part in pre season then we need someone else. If he comes back & does ok then we’re sorted for a deputy with both him & Wiles-Richards competing to be back up.
  13. We have no idea yet who will still be here by August & who will have joined, who picks up a knock. Too early to say. As for saying anyone deserves to start based on last season they haven’t listened to Pearson yesterday, it depends on what you do in pre season, not what you did in April.
  14. Definitely Deryn Collier on the right as you look. Don’t recognise the other one, definitely not Boyd, Kew or Sage, so guess @headhunter knows & it is Williams.
  15. If the club had any sense at all a version of it would be this season’s away kit. We already have a third yellow kit that we could use for the colour clashes against Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Rotherham, Stoke & Southampton.
  16. Yep & if we were even considering extending the deadline what sort of message does that send to the club? Can’t see Andy King ever thinking “**** it, my contract runs out this week but I’ll have a few more days off”. We have to assume he’s finished with us.
  17. No idea, presumably the arrangement here is that a certain number of each code moves per season?
  18. Seeing as Hull have moved it because rugby is being played there on Saturday it would have been then whatever division we were in. Genuinely feel sorry for those who are travelling, horrendous journey for a night game.
  19. Spot on, all this talk of the “real” double being the league & FA Cup implies that we are seriously in contention for both on a regular basis. Robbored’s big hero couldn’t even get us out of the third tier in four effing attempts with a million pound striker & another he bought for £600k (god knows how much that would be now). Talk about the absolute definition of deluded, we haven’t been in the top flight since 1980 (by the way GJ got us by far the closest since) & have got nowhere near the cup final in my 50 years plus of supporting. We are a mid table Championship club trying to be a top six one, “real” double? FFS.
  20. Seems to be the fee, presumably the structure of it, rather than the amount. Bolton reporter (Marc Iles) is pretty good, & he said it is definitely not medical related.
  21. Obvious question (that the media won’t ask) how does he square this with the fact he’s already admitted one assault? What was that? A (literal) free hit?
  22. Seeing as they appointed a new manager today I’m assuming that they are confident of sorting it.
  23. Peterborough are absolutely full of shit, they always start with this sort of figure before coming into contact with reality.
  24. Linked with Notts County at the start of the summer, be very surprised if he’s still with us by the time the season starts.
