Genuinely can’t work the bloke out. Absolutely outstanding first half, really unlucky with the shot that hit the post & was causing them no end of problems. 8/10. Second half a total passenger, one totally brainless bit of play in our box could have cost a goal, didn’t track his man at all, left Pring with far too much to do too often. Passes were hospital ones or too short. 3/10. Weimann comes on, tracks his man, wins a decent number of challenges, closes down like his life depends on it, absolutely brilliant through ball to Cornick & loads of excellent team play. Mehmeti cannot play for half a game, he needs to concentrate when we don’t have the ball or are under the cosh.

So today was a big improvement then.. -
First mistake was in the 93rd minute when his kick out was rubbish, to be fair after the forearm smash 30 seconds earlier he was probably concussed. Outstanding & so were all the back four in front of him. Big win.

Expected team, TGH & Mehmeti for Williams & Bell. Wells back on the bench but only 8 subs again, no Meerholz who played for the U18s on Thursday. -
Think he is still in his 30s..

what would you pay for a direct train to west Ham
GrahamC replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
As someone whose daughter is at Uni in London I can confirm that’s pretty much the case. Also because London gets a hugely disproportionate amount of the UK’s transport budget there are then numerous onward options to get to the former Olympic stadium. Not really sure of the point of the question, therefore. -
Yep, but I’m not going overboard after 6 games when he’s had minimal numbers & no opportunity to bring anyone in. Would I have liked Nige to still be in charge? Yep. Would I still like to be in my 30s & have a full head of hair? Yep, neither of those things are going to happen, though.

Think its a day to get to BS3 early for Sunderland match

I have no idea where you live or if you ever watch the news, but yes. So you don’t think people should be allowed to peacefully protest against anything? Ok then. -
Weimann..anything to keep morale up I suppose
GrahamC replied to Mr Popodopolous's topic in Football Chat
Suppose it depends on the difference between club captain & team captain. Think the role of the former is a lot around representation to the manager & the like, not necessarily on field stuff. For those games Andi doesn’t start, James is de facto captain anyway. -

I know, crap letting people have the right to protest, isn’t it? Wasn’t like this in Ceausescu’s day.. To answer the question, Palestine, I expect. -
our public broadcaster dumps another of our institutions

Hilarious to see the social media reaction saying this is another example of political correctness when the reality is a much liked female presenter was replaced by a white male one. Not watched it in years but appears to be more about the choice of a crap presenter rather than box ticking & downgrading the guests to include some with no connection to sport at all. -
**** me, why are you obsessed when there is so much more important stuff in the world? Someone who clearly knows far more about it than me, said above 4 male refs are. Perhaps she’s really good, eh? Perhaps having to overcome additional barriers she’s one of the best new refs? What a thing to get worked up about with all that’s happening. The standard is shit, trying to find a creative solution, we also fast tracked a male Aussie ref as part of the solution, unhappy with that too? You and Joey Barton must be great mates.

Yep & every game is of course an opportunity to learn more about what (sorry, broken record) is currently a very small pool to pick from. After Millwall we don’t play another league game until January 13th, you would have to think by then we should have the majority of those out (excluding Benarous) back & potentially a couple in. 5 league games before then (West Ham is a free hit) which is enough time to decide what he needs in addition to those presumably returning. -
You’re completely right but if we had more than 5 points from a possible 18 then this sort of nonsense wouldn’t happen.

I would not be shocked by a draw either but wonder what you mean by back to basics? We have minimal options, aside arguably from up top & TGH for Williams aside, the only real conundrum is who plays out of Weimann, Bell or Mehmeti. -
I think people are going to have to get used to his persona & personally can’t see the issue with this one at all. He’s not Pearson in terms of what he says but he wasn’t picked by Lansdown & Tinnion for that. Obvious but people will stop obsessing about this stuff if we start picking up more points, it will become a stick to beat him with if we don’t.

This isn’t true though, is it? She’s been an EFL referee since 2021, so she is clearly thought to be a good one & she’s got a Prem game. I can’t see how her gender plays any part in this, other (male) referees are also being moved up this quickly. The overall refereeing standard is really poor, if we can find better referees early that’s a very good thing.

The Championship..where have the veterans gone?
GrahamC replied to Mr Popodopolous's topic in Football Chat
We got compensation but it was a pathetic £55k for a player who played in the Premier League for 3 different teams. SL got Colin Sexstone to claim a contract offer letter had been sent out late to Rosenior’s agent. As for “not enjoying his time here” he’d have taken the job in a flash if we’d offered him it after leaving Derby, where he was only the assistant. -

So to save me listening, did he say if Wells or King would be back? Not saying they would start but bench options, though clearly the first more of one than the latter. -
Youngster! I was 26 & it was still pretty great, apart from the Twerton punchline of course.

Ricky Villa at AG on a frost covered pitch & the late Kazimerz Deyna of Man City, what a player he was. -

Only time that I ever visited Highbury (was just too young to go to the Cheesley one on my own), we were absolutely outclassed & I think they basically declared at HT. Cracker of a goal by Trevor Tainton if memory serves, but we were 4 down already & it was scant consolation. -

Dziekanowski. -
Mad to think he’s in his seventies. Last time I saw him around he was still as fit as a butchers dog. Great times in his first spell & as he had kept his family home here ever since, clearly has great affection for the city.

Purchased, took me about 30 seconds. Could not have been easier, some things do change for the better..
