  1. Plus the opportunity to have a much bigger budget. Tough for Argyle, they keep finding excellent managers & having them poached due to their location. Be very interesting to see who gets it, brilliant opportunity but you have to buy in to how far away it is from everything.
  2. Think we would have done so at any time over the last year if there had been a taker. One of a fair few who are certain to be released at season’s end if we can’t move them on beforehand.
  3. Suppose if our wage bill was £182m last season then we would be too.
  4. What about Swansea? Two Ronnies sketch famously said a hydrogen bomb had been dropped on it & done £26 worth of damage..
  5. Andy Llewellyn certainly stayed in the first team beyond one season, as he played about 300 games for us. O’Leary, Pring (before anyone says it I know he spent some time in Cheltenham’s academy) & the unfortunate Benarous have also come through relatively recently, the first two definitely becoming regulars.
  6. Last season they had Diallo on loan, Simms or Stewart up top. This season they don’t. Great to watch but a bit punchless. Would say though I’d happily see them, Boro & West Brom as opponents every time. Play the right way, no time wasting or Preston style nonsense.
  7. “When all of those are all fit” seems a very unlikely basis to plan from. Naismith’s availability record is poor, Roberts has shown little to believe he’s going to be in contention. The other two have been unlucky with one injury, that’s where I’d start planning.
  8. Is it grim reading? To me it is reality. I know Tinnion wants us to believe every year’s crop of youngsters will produce loads of first team players but even if you accept Alex Scott is always going to be a huge outlier, that so many have done so is down to us giving them opportunities & the number making it (Bell has appeared in 55 Championship games now by the age of 21, so whatever anyone’s opinion of him he’s effectively made it) is probably if anything, above average.
  9. Probably best not to say on a public forum, had some brushes with the law.
  10. I know there has been a lot of angst on the other side of the bridge about Cardiff’s failure to produce any Championship standard players for years (I know they let Wes Burns go before he joined us, another master stroke). Harris at Oxford & Sang at Port Vale are the only two here even with a FL club. In contrast not only the obvious but Wollacott (full international, now at Hibs), Towler (on the bench all season at Pompey) & Harper at Exeter are all making a living from the game.
  11. I’ve stuck up for him & certainly accept he’s being given a very short time in games to make an impression but if was Manning he’s one I would be speaking to in January & saying at present you’re not in my long term plans if you want to look to move on. I’d have the same conversation with Naismith whose availability record isn’t good enough & if either moved on look to replace them. Those out of contract next summer I would wait on at this moment in time.
  12. Dropped to the third page.. Probably because they have had 2 excellent results this week. Bet the number of their small following lying that they “never wanted” the misogynist jailbird is much higher now than the reality.
  13. Definite big club syndrome about that. Mind you I think 3 of those appeals have seen Liverpool awarded one instead.

    Mehmeti

Noticed very first thing he did after coming on was track his man, use his strength to hold him off & stop his run through to goal. Bet Pring was absolutely delighted to see him come on. Totally get that he isn’t providing the goal threat of previous years but he’s a brilliant professional & that pass to Cornick was quality.

    Mehmeti

Yes he did. He did exactly what the team needed when he came on. What a dismal last comment, he’s scored 50 goals for us, presumably not by pointing.

    Mehmeti

Well in terms of the game & what he gave us I don’t think so. As others have said his tracking back was very good, light years better than ever before & even apart from the run that saw him hit the post, he was a constant threat. Best 45 I have seen from him in a City shirt.
  17. He’s a defender. Ask him to defend & he’ll give it all he’s got. Ask him to make play constructively or put crosses in like Mark Sykes can & he’ll struggle. I like him, he cost £300k from League Two, has a decent availability record & good attitude. Despite the stick he’s got on here I think we have bigger issues than him. If by some miracle McCrorie, Atkinson & Naismith are all back at the same time he’s a very decent squad player, if not he’ll keep plugging away.
  18. Just thought he got loads wrong for both teams & terrible at failing to play the advantage. Petty & poor.
  19. Loads of people say he used to be funny but isn’t anymore. Well today’s performance was pure comedy, absolutely clueless referee.

    Mehmeti

Genuinely can’t work the bloke out. Absolutely outstanding first half, really unlucky with the shot that hit the post & was causing them no end of problems. 8/10. Second half a total passenger, one totally brainless bit of play in our box could have cost a goal, didn’t track his man at all, left Pring with far too much to do too often. Passes were hospital ones or too short. 3/10. Weimann comes on, tracks his man, wins a decent number of challenges, closes down like his life depends on it, absolutely brilliant through ball to Cornick & loads of excellent team play. Mehmeti cannot play for half a game, he needs to concentrate when we don’t have the ball or are under the cosh.
  21. First mistake was in the 93rd minute when his kick out was rubbish, to be fair after the forearm smash 30 seconds earlier he was probably concussed. Outstanding & so were all the back four in front of him. Big win.
