  1. I’m as biased as they come but from my angle Yeboah grabbed their player with both hands, clear foul.
  2. So is your money on Phil’s successor being the mastermind behind Project Whitebeam? Good old City Cat himself..
  3. You work in recruitment, what response do you give when something doesn’t work out? Imprecise science? One of those things? Scudamore could justifiably argue he recommended a CEO who won an award as Prem CEO of the year & was at a more successful club than us for a very long time, not his fault if it didn’t work out. Not like the Holden appointment of someone obviously promoted beyond his capability.
  4. True, but at 61 (& I’m nearly there) you are far less bothered about that than earlier in your working life. I know nothing but the gardening leave thing makes sense because we are outside the window, shirt stuff has been sorted & if you signal you’re going then there is little sense in hanging around. It doesn’t look impressive from outside the club though, we all knew & understood Richard Gould’s reasons for leaving but looking for yet another CEO is short order calls into question the selection process, bit like the Dean Holden fiasco.
  5. Fair enough but that wouldn’t necessarily suggest a sacking, would it? More like sod this, I’m off..
  6. 100%. Kid in front of the Dolman couldn’t give a ****, he took ages to get up & retrieve the ball. Not sure if they are junior players or what but he should have been told to either show some interest or go home.
  7. Struggling to think why. Bloke couldn’t have been more pro SL in his media outings if he took tips from North Korea. Seemed from this distance to be doing exactly what was expected, spinning that total nonsense about “still ambitious”, “top six”, “competitive budget”, “Luton are the latest club we are trying to copy”..
  8. I stopped reading at “weird that people wanted Ashton out”. Bloke was a ***.
  9. 100%. I’d be absolutely delighted if SL sold up tomorrow but if true (& this appears to be so) then there are several explanations as to why someone in their 60s might leave a job that might not be sinister & could potentially be sensitive.
  10. Absolutely no idea if this rumour is true or not but would just say someone on social media was convinced a few weeks ago that Kalas was signing a new contract.. Not sure why this thread keeps getting hijacked by posts about the rugby World Cup though, who gives a **** about that minority interest pastime?
  11. I can only assume we were anxious about disrupting the central defence at 0-0 but have to agree, Maja was giving us all sorts of problems & as their centre backs towered over our entire side I thought he should have been on a lot earlier. Do think that our lack of quality & experience on the bench yesterday was telling but still certainly a case for the likes of Roberts & Cornick coming on earlier, too.
  12. In League games Wells has only scored one goal that wasn’t a penalty since last January. Having said that, he’s had at least one disallowed & is working as hard as ever. Yesterday he was being marked by Ajayi who is about 6ft 5 alongside Kipre who isn’t that much shorter, but despite the ridiculous height disparity he gave it a proper go. Obvious that as you say, with Conway & Weimann unavailable we are lacking a fair percentage of our goal threat, but until they’re back, unless we are going to give Cornick a run (& bet that would be popular on here) he’s still probably our best bet.
  13. Interesting that Nige as much as said afterwards that there would be a couple of changes for Tuesday, though when he said we had the same players available I’m assuming that he had temporarily forgotten TGH.. Realistically there are only 4 who could start who didn’t do so yesterday, Dickie, Roberts, Cornick & the returning TGH. Yeboah is still an impact sub for me (he’s becoming a good one) & Mehmeti seems unlikely to come in seeing as he isn’t even getting on the pitch as a sub of late. Wouldn’t be too surprised to see Roberts start in front of Pring who was certainly labouring late on yesterday & TGH might get a start in midfield, though I saw Williams as having as good a game as Knight, so a case of rotation more than being dropped. Our front three work bloody hard so maybe worth giving Wells a rest & trying Cornick through the middle, but don’t see any obvious alternative starter to Sykes or Bell at present though.
  14. They did & I reckon @spudski knew that, which is why he said in Bristol.
  15. Pretty sure that Lloyd Kelly, Bobby Reid, Jojo Wollacott & Owura Edwards all went to City Academy in Lawrence Hill, Ephraim Yeboah did too. What I don’t know is how many of the first 4 were ever in the same squad.
  16. Birmingham? Centre of the goal? We’re down to 10 men? Poor effort. Big fan of Nakhi, but that was a bad miss to not even hit the target.
  17. They’re not that sort of team anyway. Reason most games against them are entertaining & relatively easy to referee.
  18. Think that stuff is being forgotten about already..
  19. One of them decided it was funny to try & push a bloke on his moped over as he left AG so made the decision the 3 of them probably weren’t up for an intellectual debate.
  20. Look at that bench; Knight-Lebel, King, Nelson, Yeboah, Mehmeti, Dickie, Roberts, Cornick & Bajic. Look at theirs, we are massively punching above our weight without Conway & Weimann.
  21. Both that one & Kal’s at the end typify what we are about. Hard working & tough to break down, great to see.
  22. Brilliant save. Heard 2 morons on the walk out saying that’s why he’s not a striker. Absolutely no idea what they’re watching, completely clueless.
  23. Probably guessed why I asked now!
