  1. Re that last bit, not a chance. Though to be fair when he was on 3 Peeps, it was basically “is there anything you want to tell your grateful subjects?”. This argument boils down to this, a few keyboard warriors are ***** so he shouldn’t engage with the vast majority of our 20,000 crowds who clearly aren’t. Rugby fans are civilised, we’re shaved apes. Basically this argument is another variation on “if SL leaves then we’ll get owners like Sheffield Wednesday have”.
  2. I’d be very surprised. Not comfortable with stupid comments like “fuhrer” but pretty obvious SL neither respects the views of City supporters or is going to engage with us in any meaningful way now. Once we got to the “do you know how much money I put in” stage it was obvious he just expects us to turn up, be grateful & not question him. It’s gone stale under his leadership, he is far more interested in investments like the Sporting Quarter than the first team & we simply need him to sell up. Very lucky that in Pearson he found a manager willing to sort out the mess he inherited & his apparent reluctance to extend his contract just sums up how little he still understands about football.
  3. I like Max & think he’s plenty good enough for us but he’s only in the squad because Kelleher of Liverpool isn’t available. Bazunu of Southampton is the first choice, Travers (who was excellent for Stoke against us last week) on loan from Bournemouth, is also in front of him. It will do him absolutely no harm to train with international players but realistically he’s their 4th choice goalkeeper & I’ll be surprised if he earns many (if any) caps at all.
  4. These sort of interviews are often like this, loads of stuff is made up to make the story appear more interesting. Each to their own but I’m amazed people are remotely bothered what the likes of him or Warnock (another serial liar) have to say about a Championship game from 14 years ago now.

  6. Realistically Max is very much the third choice keeper in that squad with very little prospect of being involved. Knight is a first choice, Mark Sykes seems to have been given very few chances by Ireland’s coach, would be great to see him involved at some point & with respect, if he gets pitch time v Gibraltar he has a decent chance of his first international goal.
  7. You’re right Noggers- it didn’t happen.
  8. Asked by @77 punk who it was, can only think of Phil Jevons at Brighton back in the GJ promotion season. Can anyone think of a more recent one?
  9. So in summary, we are just a goalkeeper, centre half, midfielder & striker light then? Definitely see a club that is expecting Pearson to generate £35m & then only spend £7m of it addressing that..
  10. There was a second clear one straight after, Dickie was being blatantly held by Peltier, awful officiating. Have a feeling the ref was the one who bought that dive at Hull last season. Rubbish, inexplicably gave a foul against Bell when their keeper & defender collided, some other very odd decisions that usually went against us, plus of course he’s missed two penalties.
  11. We both know if we he was, then he would cost millions rather than be someone who was basically on trial for his first contract with us. He’s just a great professional, not sure he can go on beyond this season but as has been pointed out used in short spells he can still play.
  12. He did. Don’t think we are looking to bring in a keeper, despite what some on here think. He’s decent, agreed.
  13. Max was very good tonight, the goal went through the legs of a defender right in front of him. As for “poor positioning” he caught or punched everything that came into the area very well. I’m sure last week our “priority position” according to you was a “striker with pace”. You say something different every week. Clueless.
  14. His assist. Clearly approaching the twilight of his career but a top pro.
  15. Think Roberts could have done far better for their goal, too.
  16. Outstanding tonight, won loads in the air, some excellent long range passes. Won’t get noticed because of Somerset’s finest but his best game for us. Naismith was excellent too.
  17. They’ll start if we draw tonight, even though Leicester are the only side to win there this season.
  18. Minor in the scheme of things but no idea why Nelson is on the bench instead of one of Knight-Lebel or Araoye. The subs bench already includes Weimann, Yeboah, Wells, Conway & Mehmeti, so the chance of us calling on this lad is practically zero. There is only 1 defender on the bench & the only midfielder there is 35 next month, though I accept Andi Weimann could play there, but absolutely loads of attacking players.
  19. It was the month before his 22nd birthday, actually.
  20. Belarus would, probably Serbia & Hungary too, I wouldn’t put my house on the likes of Azerbaijan, Georgia or several others in that part of Europe saying no. Slovakia’s election result this week (a big concern for very many on here, I bet) makes them more likely to do so. This could get really messy, several countries like Sweden & the 3 Baltic states have already said they would refuse & would withdraw rather play them. Just extend the ban until the war is resolved.
  21. As a fundamental starting point for a side that openly has the division’s smallest budget it does seem bonkers to have 2 players on your wage bill who couldn’t ever play if 5 others are fit. Read somewhere they have a squad of 29, so pretty obviously that’s quantity over quality. Davies is 39 before the season ends & although he was still effective 2 seasons ago, very few outfield players are playing & contributing at that age, Andy King gets questioned here & he’s 3 and a half years younger.. Never heard of Bonds but pretty clear that May’s goals were masking up a lot of their issues, realistically they’re down & so might as well start planning for next season already.
