  1. Fair summary. Scott also played in an era when hard tackles were seen as fair game & he was excellent at them. Good in the air, too. Always rated Leaning above Sinclair, who was too short & more prone to letting in a shot that he should have saved than Andy, for me.
  2. Loved Martin Scott, solely as a defender I would argue that he was actually the best of that very long line of excellent left backs (Barnard, Brennan & Bell). Leaning was a decent keeper who didn’t cope too well with the new back pass rule, but purely as a goalkeeper he was pretty good & of course he saved that Holloway penalty.. No surprise to listen to them here where they come across as decent blokes, which I am sure they are.
  3. Harry Winks was £10m & the keeper apparently cost £6m, too.
  4. Evans has rightly frequently been calling them out over the notorious Scunthorpe game, absolutely no love lost there.
  5. Pretty sure that our wage bill the year before 1905 wasn’t £182m.
  6. 7143, they’re going to need a much bigger stand.. 6 booked, presumably that’s a fine incoming from the FA, isn’t it? They really aren’t very good, are they?
  7. Right wing back on occasion, too. According to Transfermarkt 61 of his appearances for us have been as a striker.
  8. Ex Wimbledon, early 30s, bean counter, finance bod.
  9. So Chris believes he’s only had one “good” season with us since 2018? He definitely said that? I don’t listen to the podcast, thanks.
  10. Fair comment & quite possible we don’t offer him another contract but the stuff about him having only had 1 good season with us is truly laughable. He’s had one exceptional one, several good ones & last year an average one. Great value for money signing, possibly coming towards the end of his time with us, but he’s been written off before.
  11. Interesting that @headhunter has liked your comment here that you think he’s “only had one good season”. Obviously reverting to his famous theory of a couple of years ago that apparently he just “runs around”.. Weimann scored 10 goals in 44 games in his first season with us, but seemingly that wasn’t “good”. 9 goals in 45 games in his second (not “good” either). Then he had his serious injury interrupted season (7 games, 2 goals) after which he came back & had THAT season (an ever present, won an international recall after 7 years out, scored against France, top scorer, most goals in a season for us at this level for 40 years, fans’ player of the year, players’ player of the year). 6 goals in his 43 games for us last year (again that’s not “good”, apparently). To recap then he is now one goal shy of scoring 50 Championship goals for us, you have to go back to John Galley for the last person to achieve this at City, (though to be fair to Sir Tom Ritchie he would certainly have done so had he not played 4 top flight years). But Weimann’s had just the one “good” season with us, apparently. This is the same player who cost us just over half what we paid for Kasey Palmer & the same fee that we paid for Gustav Engvall.. Opinions are of course just opinions but this one is for me, completely ******* clueless.
  12. He’s got some inexplicable hatred for Coventry, he said the other day they have had 6000 crowds for home games in Coventry (they haven’t) & that Robins has applied for our job “numerous times before” (no idea if that’s true) because he “loved the area”- he was only with us for 5 bloody weeks…
  13. Do you realise Robins was allowed by Coventry to spend about £25m this summer on 9 players & bring in 2 others on loan? Not a chance in a million he would have anything like that amount to spend in BS3. No way will our next manager be him.
  14. That’s odd because I did so for the Coventry game on my phone without any problems, though I did have to create a “friend” relationship with the mate who had my ST first, because he hadn’t done so before.
  15. Yep & Charlton after he was recalled by Bournemouth, too.
  16. Who, whatever you think of Lee Johnson is a tosser. Rent a quote idiot.
  17. Nige doesn’t want to be a HoF, not a chance in a million our next manager is Curtis. Euell will definitely want a go but that looks very much like the Holden appointment & I’d be amazed if we went for someone from within after how that ended.
  18. Probably be Luke Williams then. Really not bothered who it is, it makes absolutely no sense & sums up how little the Lansdowns know about football (nothing).
  19. Bet you were saying that every week in his 22 goal season, or when he scored against France. Weimann is a superb professional who was probably one of LJ’s best 3 signings.
  20. They could have just played a recording of SL telling us again (& again) how much money he’s put in. Or “trust me on Tinnion” or “I actually gave Lee Johnson a mock interview for his first managerial position at Oldham” or the time when he sacked Cotterill but wasn’t brave enough to do it to his face, because I’ll bet good money that’s what he’ll do to Nige as soon as we lose a game. In truth I actually don’t want to hear from him now, more of his lies, “what football earns, football gets” more of him changing the club that we should copy for the tenth time, more nonsense about “having a good go at the top six” whilst getting in £35m & spending about £6m. Just sell up & **** off.
  21. Me neither & I don’t think the other poster is exactly sat on the fence either. If he goes I’m pretty sure at the moment that’s me done with the club until Lansdown & his son ***** off. I have a ST but I’m probably not going to bother to go & definitely will not renew. For anyone on here who wants to call that an overreaction, **** you. I’ve been watching City for 50 years, did almost every game home & away when we were in the fourth division & am not interested in your lectures on being a true fan. Lansdown & his son are absolutely clueless & so can carry on making a mess of it without me.
  22. Presumably Wilkins? Absolute *******.
  23. The second game was also an FA Cup tie, coming 4 days after his first appearance of the season when he played an hour after being out injured for the previous 6 months. I totally get the point about medical advice but hard to understand what on earth Holden was thinking, not like we were ever going to win the competition, was it? If you contrast this with the caution Pearson shows after any injury, Naismith on Saturday, for instance, it is stark.
  24. Interesting “new” poster, wonder who you were before?
  25. Yep- pretty sure it was said at one stage that he was considering legal action over his medical treatment prior to the arrival of Dave Rennie.
