  1. He’s lying, but that’s fine by me. Another excuse removed when this doesn’t work. We are 4 points behind Preston in 6th, there is two thirds of the season left. Now we have removed our “underperforming” manager just watch us go. Large foam hands for JL!
  2. Wish him all the best. As we apparently have a “top ten” budget according to our chairman & the last bloke they sacked for “underperforming” got us to within 4 points of the playoffs, it should be a piece of piss for him to reach the playoffs from here.
  3. No idea. If it was a guy from Bundesliga 2 or elsewhere in Europe then I certainly get how you can claim that. If it’s Manning, I do understand the logic but it’s more of a gamble, though would get the narrative that it is a sea change but hard to dress that up as “exciting”, more a different approach.
  4. Alex Ball too. He was prominent amongst the many on the touchline on Robins TV last week.
  5. Take your point but Harry (bless him) hasn’t been with us for many years. It is the Lansdowns now & look at their track record.
  6. They’re part of a cult, sadly for them it’s a very small one.
  7. Long had them on “ignore”, one of those posters who “lost interest” doesn’t see any games, but was straight back on here to stick the knife into Pearson once he was sacked. Learn absolutely nothing by debating with that sort.
  8. They only will be if we get a change of ownership. Something I hope for every day.
  9. My thoughts too as from a post only an hour before. Don’t know why our Head of Football operations couldn’t have taken charge for just the one game, if they always intended to sack Curtis soon after. It’s like they don’t have the confidence to do so but he seems to be an expert on sports science, thinks he could pick a better team than Pearson.. Odd that he didn’t front up, eh? Last spell in charge for him went really well, too.
  10. It is a very good article & Curtis is a really great bloke & good coach. He won’t be sticking around, lots of rumours there will be an appointment early this week, so doubt he’ll even be here next weekend. Will go with lots of respect from the vast majority, hard to think of a better assistant or more popular one. Nigel Pearson surrounded himself with excellent, well qualified people, that’s not exactly been standard in my 50 years of supporting the club.
  11. On a related topic I thought the ref was poor, let a couple of really nasty challenges by them go first half & didn’t seem remotely bothered by the time their goalkeeper had the ball in his hands. Felt like at times he was refereeing a game from the 70s.. However as one of many sat by me who thought the challenge from Bannan was “yards” inside the box, he was 100% right & I was wrong. On the red card I agree with @Harry with a defender behind him on reflection it is harsh, though for a side destined to always get far fewer penalties than anyone else for some inexplicable reason, I’ll take what we can get.
  12. I thought what KITR meant was the guy who is rumoured to be on our shortlist is in 2 Bundesliga, so not him. Suggested him last week myself after watching his impressive video where he talks about beating Bayern Munich. Can’t see our next man coming from abroad, especially as Tinnion is involved. Time will tell.
  13. If you’ve lost to Braintree in a league game, you’d see beating Whitby as progress, to be fair.
  14. To be fair their “loyal & true” fans must have found it tough to take when a Championship game in the same city on the same day attracts over 22,000. Tinpot outfit.
  15. He’s deluded. I must have missed the bit when we were linked with Neil Harris or re-hiring Dean Holden. Gas *****.
  16. I know absolutely nothing of an ITK nature but will be very surprised if he isn’t our next head coach.

    TGH

Very annoyed TC took that free kick away from him on the edge of their box. Never thought he would score, reckon TGH might have done so.
  18. That squad available at Cardiff last week & I don’t reckon we’d lose. Goes to show how shortsighted it was.
  19. So if appears the case, Vyner, Naismith, Tanner & James are all back today (apologies @1960maaan) what was the issue with him? A one game injury crisis? Surely he’s not being blamed for Atkinson & Benarous doing their ACLs? King & Wells getting injured in games? Absolute horseshit.
  20. I have the greatest respect for Curtis but can’t see a win today, draw more likely. Interested to see if anyone features in the squad who didn’t get a chance under Nige, so Sam Pearson, Francois or the lesser spotted OTC. As last week we only named 8 subs & 2 were goalkeepers there might be a surprise & who knows if Tinnion has any input.
  21. Spot on. Said this before blindingly obvious that SL fell out with Cotts, but he got back on the horse & was managing Shrewsbury almost straight away. Get the impression from Curtis’ press conference in the week that Nige doesn’t think this was his last job in football, either. Coppell basically walked away from the English game, had a couple of brief spells managing in India but no desire to come back. He is a very strange man (not going there with the personal life rumours) who did this before at Man City too, not sure I blame SL beyond not sensing his heart wasn’t in it when he didn’t take charge for the remainder of the previous season.
  22. Massively unfunny, but well done. Script writer vacancy exist on Mrs. Brown’s Boys?
