  1. Interested in this “moved on” argument. Sold? Who do you think is buying a 33 year old & for how much, exactly? Paid up? So we honour his contract (we’re legally obliged to) & then what? Bring in a replacement? With what? Our owner has made it very clear he won’t spend. Nahki is a very good professional & useful squad man, he’s made a decent contribution so far this season & if he’s out now for a significant spell, he’ll definitely be missed.
  2. Thing is GJ left City 13 years ago now & was in charge of us for nearly 5. Despite one lunatic on here he was an outstanding choice & also had realised by the end he’d run out of road. Both these things were very unusual amongst our managerial appointments, think only his son has got anywhere near to a similar amount of time in charge since.
  3. Maybe squad rotation, who knows? Bottom line though is tonight Wales are playing a side who are about the same standard as Yeovil so I wouldn’t get too carried away, if he gets games against middle ranking nations like Poland or Norway then he can say he’s made it. Excellent support true, but they are on the crest of a wave at present, similar to us in 2007/8.
  4. Not sure about that, he was on the bench a couple of times very recently. Not convinced he’s going to turn out any better than Robbie Cundy. Gibraltar are a really poor side, barely National League, their starting line up tonight includes a player from King’s Lynn Town, that’s Bath City standard, someone who is playing in Ireland & loads from their own league.
  5. I like James Piercy but blimey can’t you tell it is the international break. This “story” is basically someone on the radio mentioning Nige, there’s no possibility whatsoever of it actually happening..
  6. Always liked them as a club, good people, proper loyal fan base & of course owned by a true fan of the club. SL has never included them in his “clubs we should emulate” tombola, but they are fairly similar to us in terms of being a provincial club on the fringes geographically. This initiative is really great, too.
  7. It was a pretty horrible wayward pass from him that started it off. Agree, he could certainly get a League Two club but he’s not featuring in our plans if you’re 22 later this month & don’t even have a squad number.
  8. Bit bemused by this recent obsession with him. We have let in 13 goals in 11 games, extrapolated over a full season that’s 54/55, fewer than Boro did last year when finishing 4th, he has statistically made more saves per game than the majority of keepers at our level & whilst every goalkeeper will think he has conceded goals he could have stopped, I can’t recall any major howlers. Pearson made it very clear he sees him as his first choice so not sure why this debate keeps coming up. No one is saying is Tanner good enough? Gardner-Hickman or Pring, are they?
  9. Presumably apart from the bit that it would be Oxford’s own ground, rather than one they were renting in another city from a non league team? Absolutely ******* deluded, they should be grateful that they shafted Bristol rugby & ended up with a ground at all, as usually they are freeloaders.
  10. My first ever trip to the HPC & I enjoyed it. Knight-Lebel impressed me, Yeboah of course & if Kadji turns in performances like that on a regular basis he’d have a decent chance of making it. Incredible number of Spurs followers there, ranging from little kids to old stagers. Presumably the majority have moved down to this part of the world because they certainly didn’t sound like locals.
  11. Agreed, it isn’t like the Zola decision at all. Still incredibly harsh on a bloke who took over a shitshow & saved them. Doubt he’ll be out of work too long though, decent CV.
  12. Have you been to Wrexham? They film parts of theirs there & that town looks like a rough part of Belarus.

  14. Unused sub yesterday as they lost 2-1 at home to Hertha Berlin.
  15. In 14/15 when we were by a country mile the best side in that division, we still lost at Crewe. Every side no matter how good (& we were ******* excellent that season) loses from time to time. Bolton are a good side, far better than those jokers over the river, I fully expect this was a blip & they’ll still be top four. Whoever this fanboy is should be trying to establish why the thug can’t even match Stevenage, not proper clubs like Pompey & Bolton.
  16. “So close to getting the job” that he actually did.
  17. Went to Tare in Cargo on Friday night, it was absolutely outstanding, one of the best places I have ever eaten in Bristol. No wonder it is reservations only & booked well in advance.
  18. What is interesting is that last summer Coventry did exactly what we did, sold 2 of their best players Gyokeres & Hamer for mega money, like we did with Semenyo & Scott. Difference was Coventry’s chairman didn’t give Mark Robins 80p to spend like SL gave Nige, but he got all of it, breaking their transfer record for Haji Wright & paying millions for many of the 11 that he brought in. Part of me thinks therefore why on earth would Robins want to move on, he’s just been given the biggest budget in his managerial career, however the counter argument I suppose is if he doesn’t achieve this season he can’t play the poor Coventry card any more.
  19. Wonder what Derby fans are thinking? Bigger club than us, in League One & couldn’t even beat Cheltenham today. Sheffield Wednesday too, also bigger, got as many points all season as we got at Rotherham in midweek. This Ipswich stuff is pretty selective, absolutely no mention of those sides who are bigger than us & doing far worse. On a similar vein I expect we won’t hear so much about Plymouth overtaking us after their 7th defeat in 10..
  20. Interesting sample size. Includes two away games (the only ones we’ve lost) against 2 teams that were in the Prem last season. Surely not quoted to find the worst possible outcome? Last 7 games? W3 D1 L3, see? Different conclusion & not just ex Prem sides.. 11 games so far W4 D3 L4, that seems the fairest reflection on our form.
  21. Agree, it is hardly the shock result of the season. Far bigger disappointment was not getting something from the Stoke game. With what we have available we have made a decent start, be good to get a few back & have more options but not the disaster certain posters appear to want to claim.
  22. Don’t really follow the Prem but according to the preview of their game with Chelsea today Burnley have 6 missing through injury & despite Prem clubs naming 9 subs he still can’t make their bench. Wasn’t expecting him to be a starter but surely he’s fit enough by now to be involved so if he’s not in their first 26 players he’s a very long way off selection, isn’t he?
  23. Bloke who attacks women, that’s who.
  24. Yes, my wife would be in exactly the same boat. As a result of the GFA everyone in the North has both the right to Irish citizenship & could theoretically choose to play for either side. Loads of Unionists have taken advantage of the passport option..
  25. He is, I’m definitely not responding to some bizarre & frankly disturbing views expressed on this thread but Max has an Irish passport by virtue of his Grandfather being from County Kerry. Under national football eligibility rules you can qualify to play for a nation if any of your parents or grandparents were born there.
