  1. Lost 3-0 today, he was subbed off at HT. It really hasn’t gone well at all so far.
  2. In amongst all the ludicrousness of our current situation, at least we now know the definitive answer to the question as to why we are the biggest club that has never made the Prem. Because we are appallingly run by an owner who is unable to deal with any sort of constructive challenge in the workplace & who incredibly has been chairman or owner for over 20 years now & yet as you say, still knows absolutely nothing about football. Then of course there is our current chairman who possesses the charisma of a library ticket, is unable to speak in public using joined up sentences & is about as visible as Lord Lucan. Never has so much been spent (pre Nige, of course) to achieve so very little.
  3. Amazing that despite this we won yesterday against a side that made the playoff final last season, then. What a complete clown you are, as usual absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
  4. Which is absolutely right & proper. If people want to moan about showing a minute of respect for the passing of England’s greatest exponent of the game they have all come to watch, I simply can’t understand that.
  5. To be fair AD (bless him) is approaching 90 now & so to the vast majority of City fans (who unlike you & I, aren’t 60+) you might as well be talking about Harry Thickett. The Jordan era was “mine” (The Bountyhunter, I was in my late 20s, lots of good times) but I’ve realised over the years that JJ scarpered about 3 games in to our Championship campaign & so despite the League Cup semi final I can’t really put him in the same bracket as the other two you mentioned.
  6. You either didn’t read all what I said or have simply chosen not to. I also said that he has persuaded some of his previous critics by what he’s done since. Those who presumably were under the impression before he would be backed like his predecessors. This is all opinion anyway (both mine & yours), not fact, a fact is that Pearson won a game yesterday with a squad of players available to him unlike any in the division in terms of Championship experience. I would have thought my posting history would make it fairly obvious I voted to keep him, I have never wanted him sacked & would happily see him get 3 more years, let alone two.
  7. More people have realised the circumstances he’s working under & those previous critics have seen the fruits of his work. Perversely the decision not to give him any more money to spend once Scott was sold could be key to this. There were a few wild posters expecting a Coventry style spending spree but even the more restrained of us expected more than a loan from WBA.
  8. Very sad, 86 is a good innings. The greatest English footballer of all time, in my opinion.
  9. Second, missed the opener but agree this is a complete overreaction.
  10. As an aside, pleased for Duncan Idehen. Was told by someone I respect that he was consistently one of the best players for the 21s last season but was being sidelined from selection following a minor disciplinary indiscretion. Don’t think he would have got another chance without the absence of so many. Don’t want us to lose any more defenders but don’t think he will let us down.
  11. Looking at that picture I reckon he’s never going to struggle to get a girlfriend.. Never heard of him, interesting that he’s in front of Araoye or Morrison. Absolute bare bones today, knew that Naismith was out on Thursday but Williams is a new one.
  12. Guess he’s chipped in to the funding of it.
  13. Re the latter point the Rob Dickie interview afterwards virtually said as much. Naismith’s availability really hasn’t been great since he arrived, Zak’s absence is really rare, Rob Atkinson can’t do much about an ACL but Kal has missed a lot of games with comparatively less major stuff.
  14. Suffered a truly horrendous injury on debut after scoring, not sure we ever saw the player we thought we’d signed. Saying that he was slow & very mechanical, nothing ever looked like he did it naturally. Scored a fair few in the Ward promotion season but even that year he missed a lot of games through injury.
  15. Real concern that Naismith & Knight appear doubts with Wells out & Tanner still unavailable. Back four appears Hobson’s choice in TGH, Dickie, Pring & Roberts. More options further forward but shows just how few we run with & Coventry are unbeaten in 4 including a decent win v Blackburn.
  16. Means Nige is now the second longest serving manager in the Championship.
  17. Don’t pay it then. Have you ever said anything positive on here?

Won 1-0 Sam Pearson scored in the 90th minute. Lewis Thomas made what our admin described as an “unreal” save in the final minute of injury time.
  19. Cheers Reg. The Championship in rugby reminds me of the 80s when I used to watch the sport highlights on HTV. Bloke would score a try & the only person in the picture who wasn’t playing in the game was a bloke going past who was walking his dog.
  20. Good luck with him getting any major investment in the rugby. Minority interest sport at team level with a completely flawed business model. There’s a club at the second level this season with a 2000 capacity “stadium” & another with one that holds 3000 with no seating at all.. It might well be financial madness at Championship level but no way that a Prem club goes bust the way 2 rugby ones recently have.
  21. I was working in Hereford many years ago (2000s, I reckon) & a van drive past with “Peter Spiring, Electrical Contractor” on the side. Not like being called Alan Smith, so it has to have been him, doesn’t it? Nice part of the world & logical that he stayed there after playing.
  22. Sykes got the last 8 minutes, Knight played the full 90. Can’t believe the latter will have overexerted himself against a side that hasn’t scored a single goal in these qualifiers & has lost every game.
  23. Totally. There is a hell of a lot of revisionism now going on. Under the Marcus Evans regime it had gone completely stale & Mick McCarthy was hounded out by their support for keeping them mid table with an owner who refused to spend (that bit sound at all familiar?), they went down as soon as Mick was replaced & then took 4 years to get back up. In McCarthy’s last two seasons they averaged around 16000 at home & used to bring circa 700 to AG at that time.
  24. Probably quoted the wrong post, I was really replying to the comment about a trend for German assistant managers. The guy at Ipswich is clearly a talent, Reading are similar to Wednesday, a mess but a far smaller club.
  25. Might be wrong but isn’t the very big difference here that neither of the others were “assistant managers”. Wagner & Farke are vastly experienced, successful coaches, Farke has won this league twice, Wagner achieved the miracle of winning the playoffs at Huddersfield, whilst this guy clearly isn’t. This appointment reminds me far more of Jan Siewert at Huddersfield & that didn’t go well at all. Wednesday are a total shambles under Chansiri, I must admit to knowing absolutely nothing about this bloke but I won’t be surprised if they are on to a third manager before the season ends.
